This is a beautiful, wild forest with creeks, birds galore, and a quick 5-min drive to Henry Hagg Lake. Restrooms are Honey Pots. Camp fires are NOT ALLOWED as of 8/8. The area has gotten very dry and risk levels are to high at this point. Thank you for your help in keeping the forest green!

Raven's Nook

Raven's Nook is located just a few miles outside the historic logging town of Vernonia, and boasts a 100-year-old cedar cabin, a concrete skateboard bowl, a wood-fired sauna (operational outside of burn ban dates), a large garden, and lush, mature coast range forest. The cabin has electricity but no running water at this time. A propane grill and burners are available for cooking. There are multiple fire pits on the property for when conditions allow. The property backs up to Weyerhaeuser land where permit-based hunting and recreation are very popular. The quaint town of Vernonia has a brand new skatepark of its own, and there are numerous festivals and parades throughout the year. The Banks-Vernonia Trail is a lovely paved bicycle path for cycling enthusiasts of all stripes. The Crown-Zellerbach Trail and L.L. This space is perfect for setting up tables and chairs for video presentations or simply stretch out on your favorite yoga mat after exploring the local hiking trails. Washer and dryer facilities are located on the first floor, along with air conditioning throughout, and Wi-Fi is included. (Wifi is intermittent due to line of sight, but is available in the barn area if needed.) The cabin is surrounded by two decks on the upper level with comfy seating on each. The downstairs offers a paver-style patio off the bunkrooms. Here you will find a cooling and quiet retreat with a small grass area surrounded by healing medicinal herbs and flowers while you enjoy the sound of a bubbling rock water feature and the sounds of horses munching on their hay nearby. This is a private and wonderful space to relax and enjoy the views of our Mountain Trail Horse Park and the surrounding forests and farmlands. Our Internationally rated Mountain Trail Horse Park offers shaded walking trails under the cooling canopy of our giant evergreen forest.
