5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This cabin was everything I needed and more. Peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature—it felt like a true escape. My dogs absolutely loved it too, which made the stay even more special. Brian was incredibly kind and welcoming. He took the time to show me everything when I arrived and made sure I knew I could reach out if I needed anything. His communication was spot-on and made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. It was the perfect place to reset, and I’m already planning to come back for a longer stay. Can’t recommend it enough.

Weekend Trip to Peace on Earth

This was such a great experience for us! we have a reactive dog and haven't been able to go camping or travel much with her due to her behavior. The cabin was isolated up a hill with hiking paths and lots of shaded grassy areas so she had a great time wandering around with us and relaxing on the porch. The cabin itself is just perfect, and of course I have to comment on the incinerating toilet. That was quite the experience but super easy to use. We drove into Rainier for meals this time around but next time plan to pack food and cook there. 10/10.

Weekend Trip to Peace on Earth

This site is perfect! Brian's property is expansive and lush, with the cabin tucked away over a hill, giving a lot of privacy. The cabin has everything: toilet, shower, cooking/eating utensils, burner stove, towels, and even some seasonings! I got to meet Brian and he is just so sweet and very informative. He made my boyfriend and I feel so welcome. Will definitely be returning.

Weekend Trip to Kilchis River Retreat

What a beautiful location and great cabin! Gorgeous views and scenery and one of the best campgrounds we have visited on Hipcamp. Sarah and Michael were amazing and made our stay extra fun and memorable. They have 3 beautiful cats that hung out with us as well! I would recommend highly and it is a 10/10 stay for me. 2 nights at HolisticLifeFarm Clatskanie OR

So much gratitude for all the beings that make up Holistic Life Farm. Paul, his wife, and their assistant were all wonderful. One of their cats greeted me when I pulled in, and by the end of my two night stay I had met their other young kitties, their elder dog, chickens, flock of sheep with playful young lambs, and assorted cows. I was also able to purchase a sampler of some of their farm products, all of which was extremely high quality. I really enjoyed the a-frame tucked away on the edge of the property. It was warm so I kept the one side open to stay closer to outdoors. I truly was tempted to extend my stay, but have to keep up with some other tasks for now. Looking forward to next time!

Super cute cabin right by the river. Hosts were amazing!! Friendly helpful and so great to talk to! Plus the informal cat hosts were adorable! Close to town but still a good forest camping vibe. I will definitely be going back!! <3 :-)

This was an amazing experience. My husband and I found this cabin to be relaxing, clean, and charming. It was the perfect amount of modern to not be work, a shower, running water, heat. But it also had no internet or phone which allowed us to completely unplug. It had been so long since we had that chance we almost forgot how. It is a place we will be visiting again!! Thank you Brian for creating such a lovely experience.

The pictures didn't do this place justice! We had an incredible weekend staying in the lodge. It was so well-insulated that the small heater did its job well. I love that all the campsites had a firepit, table, and were near water. You can hear the creek flowing from the whole property. Tyler was a great communicater, too. Plan to be back!

Weekend Trip to Peace on Earth

Peace on Earth offered the relaxation I craved on my solo weekend getaway. Brian was a friendly host who texted to check in when I was getting close to arriving; he was waiting for me when I arrived. He carefully showed me around the cabin he'd built and made sure I felt at home. It's clear that a lot of care went into crafting this beautiful wood cabin. The bed alcove, surrounded by windows with views of trees, offered an ideal place to journal or read. I wish I could have stayed longer! Thank you!

This was a perfect change of pace from city life! Great balance of amenities in the cabin versus solitude of the woods. The host was super nice and made sure I knew how everything worked before leaving me alone for the weekend. My dog also had such a happy time running around the property and relaxing in the cabin. I highly recommend this spot!

The space was quiet and cozy, I was really happy with the dishes and utensils provided. I was able to make posole from scratch on just the provided dishes (it was delicious!). The shower was GREAT, the incinerating toilet was a fun novelty, super simple to use. I was nervous about it but it was one of the better “off grid” bathroom solutions I’ve used. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I just felt totally at peace not to mention the privacy provided by the hosts was just really much needed. We will be coming back!

“Flederhaus” the 12’x12’ sleeping quarters is on the Columbia River and has easy access.

Holistic Life Farm offers a 1 dry tent site for up to 12 people, a quaint hideaway cabin, and a glamped out 16x20 canvas tent with a wood stove. We also offer 1 RV site in our parking area. Stop on your way to Astoria and the coast and make this your destination. Find us about 30 minutes off I-5 freeway across the Longview bridge or 45 minutes east of Astoria. Our farm sits about 5 miles off Highway 30 to the north. We can direct you to hiking and mountain biking trails in the area (Beaver Falls trailhead is 5 miles from our farm). There is a motor boat launch in the town of Clatskanie, with access to Columbia River. There is also a launch in the city park for kayaking. The Zen Monastery is just 5 miles away. Long Beach, WA is across the Columbia River via the Astoria Bridge. Lounging about the homestead works too.

A popular weekend getaway spot for Portlanders, Seaside makes a great base for exploring the northern Oregon Coast, and it's just a few minutes' drive from the equally popular Cannon Beach, known for its art galleries, boutiques, and oft-photographed Haystack Rock, a refuge for puffins. Seaside is also a good base for those wishing to explore the scenic trails and beaches of Ecola State Park, just south of town.
