There have been cougar, bear, and elk sightings, so please don’t leave food out and be careful!
Although Short Sands Beach / Oswald State Park is close, it’s not really walkable. However, it is only two miles South on Hwy 101 to the parking lots from our gate. Most of the campsites are about a mile up the hill from our main entrance. So a total of about 3 miles to Shorty’s.
Fair warning: All of these sites are great for car camping and not great for tent camping. There is lots of rocks and not a lot of grass padding.
Lastly; there are no bathrooms! Please make sure you bring your own bathroom!
If we find any messes left we do charge a $250 fine. Thank you for for helping us keep our sites beautiful and safe for all!

New update , I don't currently have enough firewood to accommodate everybody . This is their address . 3904 Tillamook River Road. Please be careful when using Google maps, for whatever reason it has taken several people to other places other than mine. I posted a picture of the entrance of my property, hopefully this will help. Hurlys Hideaway is a very nice location located approximately 2 miles from the town of Tillamook. Very close to the beach Sand Lake various Rivers for fishing kayaking swimming Etc. Approximately 4 MI from Netarts Oceanside area, Netarts Bay, Cape Mears. A very nice location to be able to access all of these activities in Tillamook County. My land is Timber, some clearings, we'll see how this goes I'm just getting started. Also, I just learned that the transient tax for Tillamook Oregon is an additional 10% and I hate to do this but I'm going to have to raise my prices $5. If you are coming from Town, I'm 2 mi. from the hospital west on hwy. 131. Look for the purple Minnesota Vikings bus shack. I also put up a hipcamp sign just up my driveway a bit. If you are coming from the south on Fraiser road, turn right when you come to hwy. 131. I'm less than a quarter mile on your left. Also a heads up lately I've had a few people that are having a hard time booking and I learned from another camper if you're staying one night you actually have to select two days it includes the day you check out I just experienced that with another camper so just a bit information I don't know if hip camp changed something or what, but if you're staying one night select two days and it'll work.

20 years ago James and Patricia purchased land that had been logged multiple time, and built a house to raise a family, and watch the forest regrow. James loves trains and this area had a logging operation in the early 1900's that included railroads, donkey engines and logging camps in the area.
In the 1980's several 10 to 20 acre parcels were sold to people who wanted a piece of the country life. James and Patricia now live on one of those parcels and look forward to the next generation enjoying the country life.
When James and Patricia bought the property, the previous owner had cut down most of the trees and would mow most of the land. The land was allowed to recover with alder being the first forest which replenished the soil. In a few areas scotch broom (invasive plants) took hold. Not wanting to use toxic chemicals that could leach into the water supply getting rid of scotch broom was a challenge but now there is large meadow with baby Christmas trees growing (marked by the red flags). In many other places douglas fir has planted itself along with new cedar trees. There is beautiful undergrowth that includes thimble berry, Oregon grape, candy stripe and many other wild plants. There is red huckleberry growing in various places and makes a great snack when they are ripe.
Speaking of wild,
there is a lot wildlife here. Several species of birds live here including
family of humming birds. Sometimes you will see grouse, geese, ducks, swallows, red tail hawks, even a glimpse of a bald eagle. There are wild bunnies, gardener snakes, frogs, salamanders. If you go along the trails you might see signs of deer or coyote.
There are currently chickens that live near the garage and garden (that's why dogs must be on leash).

Pitch your tent in a shady meadow next to a small pond. Enjoy the serenity and the coastal mountain breezes flowing through the tree tops. There are hiking trails through forest land. Wake in the morning to birds singing, and fall asleep to the frogs in the pond. Clear nights and you can see a lot of stars. Located an hour west of Portland through Oregons wine country. We are located in Scoggins valley which is home to Henry Hagg lake and the Scoggins valley park. The Lake offers a bunch of recreation including swimming , boating ,fishing ,hiking , biking and paddle board rentals. The camp site is situated on the bottom of my property a half mile from the lake. It is a fairly secluded campsite with room for up to 6 tents. Nestled in the woods there is a nice verity of sunny and shady spots a campfire spot, a picnic table and a porta potty. Sain Creek recreational area is just off our road at the lake with C- ramp another quarter of a mile around the lake. All of the lake is a park so you have to enter the park to come to our spot.

This was an awesome spot for a campervan setup — the views up the coast were insane. You could see from the beach at Arch Cape all the way up to Haystack Rock and to Tillamook Head. Totally stunning. Watching sunset/sunrise from our van up there was so special.
Lots of sign of elk but we only saw one lone guy across the next little valley from us.
The road was about the same “roughness” as a standard forest service road - nothing crazy. Just rocky and steep. Our AWD Transit made it just fine.
We were there as the weather transitioned from dry, warm, sunny to fog and mist - and the winds up there were pretty dramatic that night given how exposed it is. Something to keep in mind if you were to tent camp!
All in all, a super special place and we were so happy to have had the experience. We’ll be back!

It was a wonderful place to bring the grandkids! They want to come back. It's beautiful and tree filled and right by the river. The "guard" chickens are so entertaining. And "Butters" the cat is angelic. The cabin and camp space are well appointed. We loved the outdoor kitchen and fire ring. The hosts are very pleasant and accommodating and they've anticipated everything. We definitely hope to return.

The Hydrangea Ranch was gorgeous. I spent many hours relaxing with millions of flowers. The trails on the property took me through beautiful colors of hydrangeas (so many colors), wild flowers, and local NW flowers/ bushes/ trees. The "hydrangea forest" in the back was my favorite part of the property. I was only 20 minutes from the beach and also about 10 minutes from amenities. Everything was pristine on the farm. The owner was very easy to get in touch with. There was a wedding but it didn't interfere with my trip. The wedding and the camping are on different sections of the farm. I will be returning for sure. I would love to see the farm in different seasons. I so very much appreciate that Patrick and his wife opened up the property to campers to enjoy.

This was such a fun campsite! The close beach access made it super convenient to hang out there, and the animals were super cute 🥹. Would definitely stay here again!

Directions were clear, well maintained property, camping ground was beautiful and peaceful! Only issue was no flush toilets, but that's listed correctly. Didn't get to try the showers. Would come again and highly recommended campsite.
