A perfect state
We have been camping all summer in Oregon and this was the very best camp we’ve had so far. In fact, our stay was perfect. How can you go wrong with a lake beside you and the ocean across the street. The owners, Lisa and Dave are very nice people – relaxed and friendly. They made us feel welcome and provided everything we needed for a good camp. Gratefully Dave had a barrel of water we could draw from in our camp as well as a large pot to throw small amounts of waste water into. There is a pit toilet for everyone to use. Dave sells a generous tub full of firewood for 10 bucks, including fire-starter and matches and kindling. They call the place, “The Lake Pasture“ but it actually is a beautiful meadow with loads of wildflowers and a modest amount of wildlife. Pacific city is nearby for any extra supplies you need and you can catch a shower at the county park in town. There is no Internet around camp. The closest we found was in Pacific city at the tourist information center. We felt safe leaving our gear when we were gone from camp. The campsites are far enough apart to allow a measure of privacy. Aside from natural sounds like the surf and frogs in the lake, The Pasture is a quiet place… a peaceful place might be a better way to put it. It’s a wonderful place to wind down and shake off your cares. Thank you Dave and Lisa for a wonderful stay. We will return. Dave & Debbie Purkerson

Campsite 1 - North Entrance
We stayed in campsite 1 as we were in a camper van and the other 3 sites only allow tent camping. We enjoyed the serene setting, firepit, paddle boarding with our own SUP's on the lake, close proximity to the beach, and the clean port-a-potty. There is a fair amount of traffic noise, as the road is extremely close. But it did not detract from our stay. Dave is very friendly. I recommend this HipCamp because it's clean, offers easy access to the beach and you can have some peace and space away from the crowds you'll find at other campgrounds.
