Welcome to Camp Clearwater! Nestled in a peaceful natural setting minutes from the Olympic National Forest. Nestled between a quiet country road and the Clearwater River in a forested stretch of the Olympic Peninsula, Salmon Run is a small family-owned campground offering a peaceful, back-to-nature experience. There’s no potable water onsite, so bring drinking water or your filter for river water. Directly across the street from the campsites, guests have access to a clean Sanican, a gravel parking area, and free WiFi in front of the main shop. Dogs are welcome, as long as they stay leashed and are never left unattended. Bundles of firewood are available for purchase.

This area is beautiful! We have wildlife all around us! From Bald Eagles (so keep your dogs on a leash), deer, to Roosevelt Elk in the neighborhood. If you are into bird watching, I believe you’ll find a bird or two!
**Rialto Beach is about 5 miles away. There, if you walk down the beach (about 1.5 miles), you’ll find the Hole in the Wall! BUT, you need to watch the TIDE CHART, and make sure the tide is going OUT!
LaPush Beaches are 10 miles away. The LaPush beaches go #3 & #2 are hikes, then beach #1, it is the main beach!
For the LaPush Tribe, they do collect a $10/day permit fee.

A quick 5 min walk to the public access bridge to cross Conner's Creek, this is a private campsite for your next beach retreat. Located in Copalis Beach WA, you are close to Griffith Priday state park and natural area and a general store right down the road for all your needs while you're away from home. Pacific Beach and Ocean Shores are just 15 min away but you will feel like you are in a much more secluded setting. Use this as a basecamp to explore some of the rain forests up north or use it as a premier clamming destination. The site has a gravel driveway that is aprox 75' long and 14-16' wide. In the winter all vehicles and RV's must stay on the designated driveway. In the summer the grass in the front and sandy beach soil around the firepit can be used for other activities. This is a beach paradise and listening to the surf as you go to sleep is always a wonderful experience. There is no toilet on site. Tent campers must dispose of their waste accordingly and all trash must be packed out.

This is a hidden gem- near the beaches but away from the crowds. Even at night it is easy to find. Not much road traffic, other than a few logging trucks on a weeknight. It is evident Eric and Talley have put a lot of work into the property. The sites are clean and well cared for. Even the porta potties have a wide selection of sanitizers and others supplies. Along the beaches there are abundant opportunities to top off a water supply, so with a little planning ahead it wasn't a problem. Talley was generous in sharing her local knowledge of the area and I'm looking forward to going back to check out more of her recommendations.

This was pur first experience with Hipcamp, we were pleasantly surprised with this great spot. Eric and Tally stopped by and we had a nice visit.
The RV spots are spacious and have plenty of privacy. The two tent sites are near each other bit still with enough space for privacy. It is just off the road so some road noise and I would think it would be more noisy in a tent. I will share pictures and try to label them but honestly I am sure they won't really show how beautiful it is. One night the place was full, however even full that is only 5 sets of campers.
The Hurst park is a nice walk and a pretty creek that looks like a place you could swim, the ocean beaches and Lake Quinault are very close too.

This was a great experience overall. Centrally located to several parts of the peninsula and close to several beaches, we were able to visit the two rainforests, three beaches, and made a day trip to Port Angeles. The site was well maintained and the sand pad for your tent was very comfy to sleep on. The port-a-potty was clean and had air fresheners(!) making it feel a little luxurious for camping, and creating a more welcoming environment for our kids who are not used to using those kinds of facilities on the regular.
Two things to note if you are considering this site:
1. The Tent 2 site we stayed at is fairly close to the road. There is *very* little traffic, but when cars do go by it can be loud, especially at night.
2. My wife and I are T-Mobile customers and we did not have signal at the camp ground (she’s Android, I’m iPhone). This was not a problem for us, but I would recommend downloading offline maps just in case. If you are a digital nomad working off of a hotspot, you will have to go into town about 30mins to get signal. Starlink seems to work, from what I can tell.

The campground is simply beautiful. Make sure you’re prepared to handle the rain though! The hosts are so nice and helpful too. Great hospitality. I will note that it costs $5 to shower though.
Make sure you pack food as dining options in Forks are limited especially if you are returning to camp late. Look out for the banana slugs on the trail!
