Retreat to our cozy yurt and relax by the wood fire. This enchanting yurt is very special to us! Previous friends and guests have exclaimed how romantic it is. It has electricity, a tiny refrigerator, wood stove and a comfy bed. The composting toilet is available outside. To get to the yurt 4WD recommended, ice and rain can greatly affect the roads. There is a parking spot available to park across from Deer Road. Take the very short walk to the yurt. Near our site is Green Mountain National Forest to explore. Blueberry Lake is just a short walk down our hill. Blueberry Lake is widely used year round for swimming, ice fishing, seasonal fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Long Trail nearby Bike trails/x country ski trails are connected right to our homestead. Continue on the trail and access some of the best mountain biking trails and snow biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking. Sugarbush Resort is a 10 minute drive and is one of the best ski mountains in the area! If you are looking for gym and shower facilities, you can stop into the Sugarbush Resort, just a short driving distance, for a day pass fee. Massages are available as a add on during booking! As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war.  It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well.  All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time.  During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings.  There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest.  Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since.  Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

Weekend Trip to Adirondack Rustic Retreat

A short walk down to the pond and into the pines and you’re suddenly unaware of reality or time… Truly a beautiful piece of land. Perfect little cabin with such character. A hot wood stove to keep cozy as the falling snow blanketed the silent forest around us. Comfy sleeping pads, lights, plenty of wood, delicious water, cookware and other supplies. Outhouse was so clean and honestly adorable lol!! Truly the peaceful escape I needed. I want to come back and experience what energy every different season offers, I’m sure they each offer magic.

Wise Pines was a lovely off-the-beaten-track place to stay near Woodstock. Incredibly comfortable bed and clean amenities. My dog and I enjoyed walking the beautiful gravel road and hanging out in the common space by the fireplace. Definitely recommend!

We had a great stay here at the end of September with our dog. The property is beautiful. The place is really peaceful - just the sound of owls at night, no traffic noise at all. There's virtually no light pollution, so we had a really nice view of the stars at night. The beach area was well equipped with a fire pit, propane grill, basic utensils, tiki torches and even a screen room so you can eat without being bothered by bugs (though that wasn't really a problem when we were there). The cabin was cozy too. Overall, a very nice experience. We would love to come back again.

My wife and I stayed in the Beaverpond and Sugarmaple treehouses. Both are fantastic. The location is right in the middle of a lot of fun VT attractions (swimming holes, hiking, MTB/cycling.) Time on the property is time well spent, too. Our dog loved running around in the woods. Derek is a super cool dude and made sure that we were well set up for our time there. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience. Sven was our main contact and was so kind. Definitely recommend paying for a ride to transport gear to the camp site. The campsite itself was exceptional. Beautiful secluded spot. Loved the short hike in. Everything was provided on site from lanterns and cooking utensils to firewood and tiki torch fuel. The host even set up a five gallon jug of potable water. Just bring bedding and food and you’re good to go! Wonderful weekend in the Adirondacks with easy access to North Creek.

Weekend Trip to Wise Pines

Our weekend at Wise Pines was an incredible experience. The lodging and ammneities far exceeded my expectations. Private rooms had fans and sound machines, very appreciated for the moms in our group enjoying undisturbed night sleep. The bunkhouse offered comfortable accommodation and our group loved the drawn curtains for each bunk. The treehouses were a joy to stay in, very comfortable and cozy. We booked the entire property for our weekend trip and spent a lot of time in the lodge enjoying the art books and games, as well as utilizing the stunning yoga studio for our own restoration. The space offers yoga classes as well! Highly recommend a trip to Wise Pines whether you're a solo traveler/hiker looking to connect with others or a group seeking a restorative nature getaway.

Delightful experience. The site is pretty and peaceful, and the scenic views over the landscape are amazing. The cabin is well-appointed and homey, and decorated with beautiful original art by the hosts that you can buy! The site is just steps from a working goat farm - and you can buy farm cheeses on the premises. Hannah is a great host - she left us a sample of one of the cheeses as a welcome. If you can, take a tour of the farm; it’s really interesting and you get to meet the goats! Definitely recommended for cheese nerds!

My partner Kait and I stayed in this magical yurt for a couple of days and honestly didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, the host’s hospitality was above and beyond welcoming, kind, and thoughtful. The yurt itself was incredibly cozy and beautifully designed. The bed was super comfy, and the whole space felt like a warm hug, especially as snow gently fell outside it was like living inside a snow globe. We also loved how close we were to nature. There were some incredible hiking trails right nearby, and the view at Blueberry Lake was absolutely breathtaking. It’s the perfect place to relax, reconnect, and soak in the quiet beauty of Vermont. Can’t recommend it enough. We’ll definitely be back!
