This spot was absolutely gorgeous and super whimsical. We loved reading through the story of Shrek’s Hut as told by fellow guests. The inside wood stove was super warm, I can imagine it being soooo cozy in the winter time.

We loved sleeping on the screened-in porch and watching the fireflies every evening. Tiny Pond was just a short walk away and was great for swimming and paddling. The cabin provided just the right mix of rustic with access to some modern amenities (lights, shower, hot running water).

The tiny cabin is in a beautiful spot, surrounded by trees and next to a river. It has everything you need for a really enjoyable stay. It’s also less than a mile from Poultney with pubs, restaurants and shops. Safe (because I know some folks worry about that, especially solo travelers like myself) and serene. Ty to Robbin who created a lovely space.

Our weekend at Wise Pines was an incredible experience. The lodging and ammneities far exceeded my expectations. Private rooms had fans and sound machines, very appreciated for the moms in our group enjoying undisturbed night sleep. The bunkhouse offered comfortable accommodation and our group loved the drawn curtains for each bunk. The treehouses were a joy to stay in, very comfortable and cozy. We booked the entire property for our weekend trip and spent a lot of time in the lodge enjoying the art books and games, as well as utilizing the stunning yoga studio for our own restoration. The space offers yoga classes as well! Highly recommend a trip to Wise Pines whether you're a solo traveler/hiker looking to connect with others or a group seeking a restorative nature getaway.

Weekend Trip to Endless Grove

We loved Gnome cabin and had a wonderful time! Definitely recommend it for solo, girls, beginners for camping/getaway! If you're looking for an absolute secluded place, then it might not be for you. Here's what we loved - 1. Scenic drive to lots of trails, state parks, and nature. 2. Walkable to Slate Valley trailhead and a beautiful state park. 3. Clean and efficient cabin. 4. Spotty cell service. 5. Quiet and tucked away but a safe distance from neighbors. We had a great time and really enjoyed our time here.

I spent one peaceful night in the Bed in the Shed and it was exactly what I needed—a quiet, cozy, off-grid retreat to unplug and recharge. The shed itself is simple but thoughtfully set up: clean, comfortable bed, bug screens, and just enough space. I brought my dog, and he was in heaven—sniffing through the woods by day, snuggling up with me at night. The Outdoor Center is just a short walk away and has a real bathroom (huge bonus). The trails are stunning and well-marked—perfect for hiking, reflecting, or just wandering. I watched the sun set through the trees and slept like a rock under my down comforter. This place isn’t for someone looking for luxury—it’s for someone looking for peace. Highly recommend for solo travelers, nature lovers, or anyone who needs a reset.

Another year kicking off the summer at forest echo and we couldn't have had a better time! Caretakers are always amazing and kind, the chickens laid a special "mini egg" and Scott went out of his was to give it to my daughter. You can't beat the farm fresh eggs for breakfast. Either way, you will love the experience here as much as we do. Camp Forever is a very special 45 acre property, located within the Adirondack Blue Line. It has been in my family since the early 30's. My grandfather carved a small campground out of the woods that he ran from the early 70's until the mid-80's. Some of my earliest and best childhood memories are from time I spent at the camp. In the mid-80's, my Uncle took Camp Forever over and ran it until around 2014. As a small private campground for over four decades, Camp Forever became a special place for many families from Quebec and from the local area. My family and I recently purchased Camp Forever from my uncle and have by rehabbing the property for the past several years. We built an Adirondack Style leanto here in 2019 and have been cleaning up the campground area for the past two years. While Camp Forever will never become a "campground" again, I am thrilled to once again be able to share this unique property with anyone seeking good times in nature with family and friends. Fern Hollow

Our property is nestled in the foothills of the Mad River Valley, close to the headwaters of the river. The property is composed of wetlands, agricultural meadows, old apple trees, and hardwood forest with 700 feet of elevation. All structures on the property are solar-powered and a rainwater system feeds the sink in the outdoor kitchen. There are a handful of individual camp sites available in the spring, summer and fall, as well as a communal outdoor kitchen with lighting, a fire pit, a stone pizza oven and a sitting/yoga deck. We also offer more of a "glamping" experience in our 14 ft yurt, which comfortably sleeps 2-3 people with wood stove heat and a solar battery for lighting. Vermont National Forest Home

**In the winter (December-March), we HIGHLY recommend a vehicle with dedicated snow tires or chains. AWD is good but sometimes insufficient. Home is in rural Vermont with a steep driveway.** Get away from it all in a secluded home atop a mountain in the VT National Forest. Home with large deck and panoramic view of the Green Mountains. Idyllic in all seasons. Summer is lusciously green; fall colors seen from our deck; the magic of winter. Tons of privacy, but minutes from lovely town of Rochester. Tubing and swimming holes nearby, tons of hiking and biking trails and berry picking nearby. Our home has been in the family for the 40+ years since it was built and well cared for that whole time. Uniquely situated, the house is 10 minutes from the town of Rochester, but high up in the hills on 2 acres of land. The photos do not even begin to do justice to our view. The house is the perfect combination of rustic cabin with comforts of home. We have 3 closed bedrooms (2 with queen beds and one with 2 twins) and a queen-sized futon in an open room on the lower level. Two full bathrooms with tub/showers. The deck extends the length of the house and has a 180-degree view of the Green Mountains. One of the highlights of the home is the large built-in stone wood-burning fireplace. There is a large set of 40 stairs to climb to the entrance of the house. The house is rich in its amenities, but still rustic in its charm. We have fiber-optic internet and wifi, fridge, range, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee machine, extra-large capacity washer and dryer, and small gas grill. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking all meals. But it still feels like a remote cabin, filled with books to read and large sofas for relaxing in front of the fire. In the Great Hawk housing community, at the bottom of the mountain, there is a swimming pond, tennis court and pickleball court (bring your own racquets and balls!), and a small play structure for kids. We also have a pack-n-play, clip-on highchair, toys, board games, etc. It's a great home for kids of all ages. Short drive to many hikes, cross-country ski, and snowshoe, including the Long Trail. The town ploughs the roads to the house and our caretaker ploughs the steep driveway, but we have had icy winters and snow tires or chains help a lot. There is no cell service for the last 5 minutes of the drive if you need assistance or get stuck.

Learn more about this land:Secluded cabin within walking distance to the Haystack Mtn. hike with 360° views (3 miles round trip, cabin to summit and back). Cabin has a 2-burner propane stove and fully stocked kitchen (pots, utensils, etc). No running water or electricity, but cabin is stocked with 7 gallons of drinking water, plus a rain barrel for wash water. Separate outhouse with a sawdust bucket toilet and bucket shower. Two camp-size mattresses upstairs - bring your own bedding. Woodstove for heat. Fire circle outside for campfires.

We milk a herd of fifty holstein, jersey, guernsey, and ayrshire cows. We are right off the Long Trail, Catamount Trail, and VAST trail systems. We have mountain bike trails on the farm as well as a great swimming hole. We have miles of hiking trails that link up to the Beaver Meadow trail network in the Vermont State Forest as well as Morristown Forest trails. Our camp has two full size beds and sleeps four people. The camp is not winterized: will protect you from wind and snow but not the cold!
