Blueberry picking on-site in August. Don't want to cook? Packed lunches are available. Check out our website at Blueberry Hill Inn for Pizza by the Pond nights.

C.Valley Alpaca and Beef Ranch

2 sites · Lodging88 acres · Bridport, VT
Champlain Valley Alpacas and Beef is a family farm owned and operated by the Foshay family since 1998.  Our girls, Gracie and Olivia are grown now.   Gracie is married to Jaron and they live in Alabama. Olivia is a nurse and currently is living at home which is a huge blessing to Mom and Dad. Our herd of alpacas once was shown successfully in the Eastern States, now mostly range on the farm, having sweet cria (babies), growing magnificent fiber and effortlessly entertaining throngs of wedding guests! Our beef herd, comprised of Black and Red Angus, Hereford and Belted Galways has fluxuated as the market and hay supplies demand. We have a vineyard of Marquette grapes that are so delicious, that we have to race the birds for them in the fall. Our land is quiet, off the beaten path, and brimming with beautiful views of mountains, hills, valleys with winding creeks.  This property has seen years of agriculture as a sheep farm, dairy farm and a fence company.  We are happy to share this land and  our gentle creatures with you.Learn more about this land:We are a working Alpaca and Beef farm in Central Vermont. Our cottage is available in the spring, summer and fall to Airbnb guests. Recently we have added the winter season for the adventurous Clamping crowd. The cottage is very private, with alpacas nearby. Hiking, xc-skiing (bring your own) and The Vast (Snowmobile)trails are also nearby. We have amazing western views of the Adirondack mountains, and are 20 minutes from Middlebury, Vergennes; 1 hour from Burlington and Rutland and 45min from Middlebury Snowbowl Ski Area.

The yurt has a small kitchen with a small refrigerator, toaster oven, coffeemaker, double cooktop, sink, pots, pans dishware and silverware. In colder weather the space is heated with a Rinai propane heater. The whole yurt is yours to use as well as the associated porch/outdoor space and firepit. Did I mention that our property abuts the 4,000 acre Bristol Cliffs Wilderness Area? Notch Brook and the New Haven River, which are just down the road from us, provide ample fishing and swimming opportunities. Are you interested in sampling Vermont’s famous brews, wines and spirits? We’re 5 minutes from the Bobcat Cafe and 15 minutes from Middlebury where you’ll find Otter Creek Brewery, Lincoln Peak Vineyard and other breweries and distilleries. Are you curious about how maple syrup is made? We’d be happy to give you a tour of our 750 tap sugaring operation and samples of our syrup, candy and other maple confections. Please note that the Yurt is about seventy five feet from our house on a working tree farm in a rural - residential neighborhood. We are generally very quiet and you will have all the privacy you desire. We do have a young daughter that likes to play outside in our yard, we do occasionally run tools and equipment and there is occasional road noise. If you are looking for a true wilderness type experience away from it all, this likely isn't the best option for you.

Nestled in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont, Sky Hollow Farm has a rich history spanning from an 1800s sheep farm to its transformation into a summer camp, and now our beautiful homestead where we keep pigs, horses, chickens, and a lush vegetable garden. This 120-acre property boasts 3 swimming ponds, a wood-fired sauna, a lovely creek, and miles of hiking and biking trails connecting directly to Rochester's network of Ridgeline mountain biking trails and the National Forest. The Hunter Cabin or Creek Cabin are excellent choices for a tranquil nature retreat. These one-bedroom cabins offer a unique stay with minimalistic, quaint furnishings. Both kitchens are equipped with a refrigerator, stove-top, and cooking utensils. These spaces also offer outdoor amenities including an outdoor shower and outhouse. Dogs are welcome and must be leashed or under voice command at all times. A pet fee of $50 per pet for any length of stay is required. Sorry, but no cats allowed due to allergy concerns. There are free-range chickens on the property. All walking trails are available to guests and are marked. Please avoid areas around other buildings on Sky Hollow to allow all guests their privacy. All barns and sheds are also private. The Village of Rochester features great eateries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a bakery, a lovely public library, art gallery, antique store, a great playground at the elementary school, swimming holes, yoga studio, and more. It is within driving distance of larger towns like Rutland and Killington, Middlebury, Waitsfield, and Warren, and West Lebanon NH for day trips. Public transportation is a 20+ minute drive away - a vehicle is necessary (4-wheel drive and snow tires are required in the winter months). Parking for 1-2 vehicles is available. The owner has a golden retriever (Kodak) - he is friendly and (usually!) well-behaved but does bark and run to greet you, so please drive slowly and don't be alarmed! We also have 1 cat and several friendly horses who occasionally graze in view of the cabins. Please be aware of electrified fencing (especially with small children!). Maple syrup and eggs are offered for sale when available. Please consider that you may or may not have cell service during your stay - AT&T has good coverage, but Verizon is spotty... there is a nice rock (Lion King Rock) on the mountaintop where it works well! Check coverage maps for other carriers. While all of our spaces have high-speed WiFi, incredible views, shared access to the sauna, swimming pond, and trails; Sky Hollow Farm has the ability to offer a variety of experiences.
