We had a wonderful time in Duxbury. The brook is a truly amazing place, unlike anything I've seen in Vermont and my daughter couldn't get enough of the zipline. Thank you so much!
Dynamite Hollow felt less like a place we stayed and more like a little world we got to disappear into for five days. My husband, our 8- and 9-year-olds, our dog Spumoni, and I absolutely loved every August minute.
The water is impossibly clear, the property is peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully cared for, and somehow there is always another little corner to explore. The Upper Gorge was especially magical—lush, mossy, almost New Zealand-like, with that rare feeling that maybe no one had ever wandered through there before you.
We swam, explored, soaked in the amazing hot tub, built fires with the plentiful dry, cut firewood, and settled into the kind of slow days you wish could last much longer. Everything we needed was there, and the recommendations for things to see and do were spot-on.
It’s wild and beautiful without sacrificing comfort—the perfect mix of adventure and retreat. Five days somehow didn’t feel like enough. We were already talking about our next trip before we even left…will be back!!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend camping here. Everything was perfect. It’s set far enough back in the woods that you really have privacy but it’s still convenient to get to your vehicle. It was so nice to unplug and be away from society. The views are beautiful the tent was very clean and set up comfortably. Host provided us with lots of information about the site and surrounding area and was very responsive. Highly recommend!

We loved staying in Chapin’s tent. This was a beautiful campsite area. You get the whole place to yourself! And the river right there is so nice. The hikes and zip line were awesome! Will definitely book again!!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The site is truly spectacular with amazing swimming holes and stunning scenery. We used it as base camp for exploration of Roxbury and Warren on bikes. The wood fired hot tub was the perfect end to long days on bikes! The hosts have clearly put a lot of thought into a carefully designed woodland camping experience. What a spot to be able to explore!

what a lovely spot tucked away in some beautiful scenery! the walk up the hill is pretty brutal if you have to make several trips up to the tent, but worth it! would 100% come back, the swimming holes were cold but so refreshing!

Above the Brook Tent
This was a beautiful spot and we really enjoyed the privacy. My kids loved the zipline and exploring around the falls. The tent was large enough for all 4 of us and it was a pleasure to sleep in. It was a somewhat steep climb up to the tent, so it might be a little challenging if it were wet or raining, but it's a great spot to see everything. We had a great time.
May have been my favorite hipcamp ever. The green mountains of Vermont provide everything you could want, while the hosts provided everything you could need. Even wifi for my friend who needed to work/check emails. Hosts were prompt, professional (even with last minute booking). 10/10
My husband and I had a memorable time at Chapin’s place. He has an incredible set up. The tent was roomy and everything inside was practical. It was stocked with plenty of wood for the fire pits and chiminea. We were able to cook breakfast and eat out on the picnic table. The hot tub was a welcome treat after spending hours hiking and swimming. The swim holes and waterfalls were beautiful and the water. Was crystal clear. Even the privy had a view! We have stayed at several Hipcamp places, and this is our favorite. We will be back!
I booked this vacation in March and basically forgot about it until it was time to venture up to VT. We were blown away by the zip line, private swimming hole and all the thoughtful touches put in by Chapin and his family.
Our dog LOVED being off leash to explore the hollow and surrounding areas, and it was private enough to not be worried about bothering anyone.
The hot tub was a nice touch, despite us visiting during a heat wave the temps got low enough at night and in the morning to use it! When it got too hot midday, we'd cool off in the swimming hole. It was perfect.
Having a queen sized bed to fall asleep on was amazing. We woke up to thunderstorms and torrential downpours the first night but stayed completely dry in the tent. The rushing water is like white noise which helped my daughter sleep later so I got some time to myself in the mornings.
Also probably because of the excessive heat - at certain angles on hot days you can really smell the privy as you walk from the water up to the tent.
We're already planning a return trip!
Wow. What a special place to stay. Chapin’s land is located on a mountainside with a beautiful brook running though it. This is the perfect place to disconnect. You won’t have service either way! There are hammocks to lounge, a zip line, multiple fire pits on the premise, and hidden swim spots along the brook for those willing to venture. The heavy canvas tent has a cozy bed along with a couple tables, candles, and lantern.
My dogs loved hunting for rocks and swimming in the brook while we sat by the brook. The hike to the top of the property was worth it, because you’ll find a trove of views and hidden swim spots along the way. My only regret was not staying long enough to use the hot tub! Thank you for the great experience Chapin. We’ll be back.

Wonderful site, several different lounging areas, and down by the falls is cool even on the hottest day. Peaceful and a great getaway overall.
This place is amazing! If you love camping or are new to it you will love it! We went memorial day weekend knowing it was going to rain but were up for the adventure. The tent stayed completely dry and the front porch is covered so you can sit outside even in the rain. The tent is up a steep hill from the river but it is very short walk and the perfect spot to overlook the river. We brought a butane burner and between that and the chiminea had everything we needed to cook. It was a bit cool because of the rain and time of year but we warmed up with a couple of beautiful hot baths near the river which were amazing. We didnt venture out too far due to the weather but the waterfall was close and beautiful and we took a stroll along the river behind the main house they are still renovating. There is zero service at the camp which was wonderful. We knew this was going to be the case so we brought along a battery powered am/fm radio and played games. On our last day the sun came out and it was 80°. It was hot in the meadow where we parked but about 10° cooler at the site. Perfect weather to pack out. Such an amazing experience! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful raw nature! The steep walk up is well worth it! Tent is spacious and comfortable. Take the trip to the hollow, not an easy hike but the reward is amazing! The zip line was so much fun, we now need one at home lol. We even enjoyed the occasional sound of the trains going by below. Can't wait to return in the spring!!
The setting is utterly peaceful and bucolic. The tent is roomy, cool, and dry; the main bed is super comfortable! Definitely take your time and explore the property: the many tiers of waterfalls, canyons, lush fauna and wildlife are all extraordinarily beautiful and peaceful. Even in early September when the water was low, the falls were breathtaking. I cannot say enough about The Hollow at Dynamite Falls. I'll definitely be coming back!

Chaplin really has a hidden gem of a spot! The tent is comfortable and spacious with enough room for activities. The waterfalls and raging brooks are beautiful and the high light of the trip! Definitely would recommend
Chapin and his family’s property was LOVELY, I can’t even describe what a special place it was. There was so much to explore right at the campsite that we hardly had to leave, but it was still a good jumping off point for other areas as well. The walk to the campsite in general isn’t bad, but definitely be aware that the walk up to where the tent is was very steep uphill, so just keep that in mind when booking if you have any sort of mobility issues. Otherwise, the bed was comfy, the brook and swimming holes were delightful, the area was beautiful, and it was great to meet Chapin, his friends and family who were staying at their farmhouse across the brook for the night, and their sweet dog.
Such a wonderful and relaxing experience! Spent the days exploring the trails and falls and cooling off in the creek! Such a beautiful piece of land and so many other places to explore close by too! Be sure to bring hiking shoes/sneakers as the walk up to the tent is a bit steep especially while carrying gear but absolutely worth the effort! Had a lovely experience at Dynamite Falls 😊

We had a wonderful stay at Chapin’s place. The site is beautiful, with plenty of great hiking trails nearby. The water access was fantastic — we spent a lot of time relaxing by the brook. Our dog had an absolute blast!
Had an awesome weekend spent at the Above the Brook Tent site! The tent was very roomy and cozy. The bed was super comfortable and clean. The brook and waterfalls were so much fun to explore. Would love to come back and stay.

Overall a lovely spot. Large tent, comfortable bed, nice fire pit and very pretty brook right nearby. Not completely private as there is some public access to the brook - some local kids came to play in the water near our site during our stay. But if you’re looking for a chill spot to camp and splash around in the water this is a nice place. The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with and very responsive.
My husband and I and our crew of animals loved Chapin's place! We explored the ravine and creek, splashed in the refreshing pools, hiked through the woods, and relaxed at the strategically placed sitting spots overlooking the waterfalls. It was beautiful and a wonderful detox from the big city life.
We enjoyed the perfect balance of primitive (composting toilet and no cell service) with comfort (nice bed, spacious tent, and great views). Note: there is wifi down the hill at the host's home if you need it.
I definitely recommend this place for any solo travelers, couples, or small families who want to experience nature!
We absolutely loved this hip camp. It’s one of those places you want to keep a secret. Chapin and his wife were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. The property is so beautiful. Be sure to walk up the falls it is very worth it. The zip like was so much fun. Chapin and his wife have put a lot of very hard work into making this a very special place and it is very clear as soon as you arrive at the tent. My lady and I cannot wait to go back. 11 out of 10 highly recommend this hip camp
The campsite is beautiful! The rocks in the brook by the hammock area were slippery but we just moved downstream a short distance. it was sandier and better for our girls to cool off and wade in the water. Wonderful experience!

We had a great time at Chapin's campsite! There was a lot to explore and the views of the brook were gorgeous! The site felt secluded and peaceful. The hollow by the brook was a great place to read and relax. The zipline was a blast! We appreciated that Chapin sent over detailed information about the site before our stay. The tent was cozy and clean!

Great campsite. The host was very informative in pre visit communications and everything was clear.
The site is right by an incredible ravine with tall waterfalls and crystal clear water and there are well labeled hiking trails to go check it all out.
The tent is very nice and spacious. The tent platform makes for a fun spot to hang out. The zipline was a very pleasant surprise and is super fun! Very nice site!
