It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others. My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable. There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes. The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside. There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $5 per bundle. The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

Dogs are allowed but they need to be leashed due to our free ranging ducks and the closeness of the road. The last thing he ever thought he would be doing with his retirement is jumping back on his excavator. Can't keep a good man down. Now here we are. Father and daughter. One day my children. 3 large tent sites and two camper sites. Future cabin and seasonal RV sites. A brook runs through the property but dries up after June. There is a small pond with rock stairs. Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season. 2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence. There is a bathroom/shed that contains a toilet. Goats are coming. Yes goats. Not until fall though. The frog pond population continues to grow. A neighboring town is finding 3 legged frogs in their ponds. Apparently caused by a parasite. Let me know if you find any. 2024 was another great season. New faces that I hope to see again. The summer weather was great for camping. A large Bell Tent and a small portable camper was purchased for those who are seeking more of a glamping experience. WELCOME BACK for 2026... 2025 had some complications unfortunately. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to invite anyone to my property. Consider yourself invited for the 2026 season. Please, NO pets! Thank you for reading this entire description for rules and directions on how to get to Hidden Brook. Hidden Brook is located on a small family-owned vegetable farm five minutes outside the village of Cornish, Maine. Three generations of farmers live here presently, but our family has been working this land since the mid 1700’s.  Cornish is a pretty special place to live and visit because we are about 50 minutes drive from both the city of Portland on the coast and the White Mountains to the west. There are tons of local hikes here in the foothills, two big rivers to float or paddle, dozens of swim spots, good fishing, and a lively little village with at least 7 antiques shops, local art, and some pretty darn good restaurants. Our neighborhood even hosts some of the best musicians in the world each July at The Ossippee Valley Music Festival. Yeah, we got it all going on! Come play with us or just chill at Hidden Brook. So far, we have one spot open for “glamping”, The Bus, but we will add the Wagon this fall. The Bus, an engineless 1973 Bluebird School bus is pretty pimped out. Though off the grid, cell reception is pretty good and rechargable lighting is provided. Our outdoor kitchen, on a spacious deck ( fenced in for kids ) includes a heavy duty propane stove, Yeti cooler and pots and pans. Indoors, there’s a slop-bucket sink for tooth-brushing (dishes are to be washed out on the deck ), a small woodstove to take off the chill come fall and a nice big fire pit outside. Wood is provided. Buses can get hot in summer, so we put ours in a shady little grove of ancient oaks amongst the remains of the farm’s original stonework and installed screens the full length of the bus. We built a compost-style outhouse and a beautiful outdoor shower we call “The Cold Drizzler” down in the old homestead cellar hole. Kind of a secret garden bathroom : ) Inside is a full-sized bed for one or two people and two cot-sized “75 long bunks, sleeping a total of four humans. Quality mattresses, sheets and blankets with a change of sheets and tons of pillows ought to provide a comfortable night’s sleep. Four towels and face cloths provided. Coffee and “pour-overs” on site as well as silverware, bowls and plates. All you really need is ice for the cooler and your food - or just go out to eat. Other things to note: Absolutely no smoking inside All shoes off before entering Quiet hours from 9:30 pm to 6:30 am ( we live in a small community and wish to respect our neighbors ) This is not a party camp, but a place to relax and listen to the birds. Please enjoy your music quietly. This is a working farm, but we will be as sensitive as possible when it comes to any loud machinery use like irrigation pumps and tractors while guests are around. Our dogs may visit, but are laid back once they have anounced your arrival. Directions to Hidden Brook and the Bus: You will be given directions to an address once you book but please make sure that you follow the signage to the bus carefully, otherwise you’ll end up at the wrong property. Drive until you see two giant, eyeballs attached to a telephone pole, and the bus will be immediately after that on your right. Thank you so much.

I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others. My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable. There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes. The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside. There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $5 per bundle. The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season. 2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence. There is a bathroom/shed that contains a toilet. Goats are coming. Yes goats. Not until fall though. The frog pond population continues to grow. A neighboring town is finding 3 legged frogs in their ponds. Apparently caused by a parasite. Let me know if you find any. 2024 was another great season. New faces that I hope to see again. The summer weather was great for camping. A large Bell Tent and a small portable camper was purchased for those who are seeking more of a glamping experience. WELCOME BACK for 2026... 2025 had some complications unfortunately. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to invite anyone to my property. Consider yourself invited for the 2026 season. Hidden Brook is located on a small family-owned vegetable farm five minutes outside the village of Cornish, Maine. Three generations of farmers live here presently, but our family has been working this land since the mid 1700’s.  Cornish is a pretty special place to live and visit because we are about 50 minutes drive from both the city of Portland on the coast and the White Mountains to the west. There are tons of local hikes here in the foothills, two big rivers to float or paddle, dozens of swim spots, good fishing, and a lively little village with at least 7 antiques shops, local art, and some pretty darn good restaurants. Our neighborhood even hosts some of the best musicians in the world each July at The Ossippee Valley Music Festival. Yeah, we got it all going on! Come play with us or just chill at Hidden Brook. So far, we have one spot open for “glamping”, The Bus, but we will add the Wagon this fall. The Bus, an engineless 1973 Bluebird School bus is pretty pimped out. Though off the grid, cell reception is pretty good and rechargable lighting is provided. Our outdoor kitchen, on a spacious deck ( fenced in for kids ) includes a heavy duty propane stove, Yeti cooler and pots and pans. Indoors, there’s a slop-bucket sink for tooth-brushing (dishes are to be washed out on the deck ), a small woodstove to take off the chill come fall and a nice big fire pit outside. Wood is provided. Buses can get hot in summer, so we put ours in a shady little grove of ancient oaks amongst the remains of the farm’s original stonework and installed screens the full length of the bus. We built a compost-style outhouse and a beautiful outdoor shower we call “The Cold Drizzler” down in the old homestead cellar hole. Kind of a secret garden bathroom : ) Inside is a full-sized bed for one or two people and two cot-sized “75 long bunks, sleeping a total of four humans. Quality mattresses, sheets and blankets with a change of sheets and tons of pillows ought to provide a comfortable night’s sleep. Four towels and face cloths provided. Coffee and “pour-overs” on site as well as silverware, bowls and plates. All you really need is ice for the cooler and your food - or just go out to eat. Other things to note: Absolutely no smoking inside All shoes off before entering Quiet hours from 9:30 pm to 6:30 am ( we live in a small community and wish to respect our neighbors ) This is not a party camp, but a place to relax and listen to the birds. Please enjoy your music quietly. This is a working farm, but we will be as sensitive as possible when it comes to any loud machinery use like irrigation pumps and tractors while guests are around. Our dogs may visit, but are laid back once they have anounced your arrival. Directions to Hidden Brook and the Bus: You will be given directions to an address once you book but please make sure that you follow the signage to the bus carefully, otherwise you’ll end up at the wrong property. Drive until you see two giant, eyeballs attached to a telephone pole, and the bus will be immediately after that on your right. Thank you so much.

All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. My teenage daughter asked if I’d bring her and her friend camping or glamping for a night. I knew I didn’t want to set up a tent, and I needed a place that allowed a one night rental. I found Andrews’ Purple Bus, and messaged her asking if she’d be okay letting us rent it the very next night (nothing like spur of the moment). She responded quickly, and was all in, said she just needed to rake some leaves. The property is immaculately kept amidst a woods setting. She had warmed the bus already by starting a fire in the wood stove. The place is well stocked with any incidentals one might forget, and the space is all used perfectly to fit 3 beds, a table, a kitchen area, and a wood stove. The bus abutts a deck that has a well stocked outdoor kitchen that is also very well stocked with the necessary cooking utensils and such. The wood stove keeps the bus warm at night. The lighting made for great ambiance while we played some board games, and turn off with a click of a remote leaving a perfect dark interior (you know, the kind of pure darkness you get without electronics, and street lights, and other technological nuisances!) which make for a deep sleep, as the wood crackles in the stove. Simple and easy in all the best ways. Thank you for welcoming us on such short notice.

Razell and Bentley were amazing! I got into town late at night and they still took the time to walk me through how to get there on the phone and then take me out to the site. The site was amazing, beautiful views and remote enough to really feel like camping. The campsite was stocked with wood and grilling supplies (even stocked with eggs from the farm) when I got there. The site was very clean and well taken care of, you can tell they genuinely care about your experience. Will definitely be back!
