Lori and Drew were amazing hosts! They welcomed us upon our arrival and asked our breakfast requests (all diets accommodated)! It was a short walk over to the sugar shack, down a nice grassy path, passed a swimming pond with fresh water. (Parking at the bottom of the hill)
We were provided a beautiful, clean, and cozy shack to rest our heads at night. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit with couch and pillows. The outhouse is pristine! Equipped with composting feature, cleaner, toilet paper, and lights. For cooking, they have a grill, pots and pans, utensils, and plates. And I cannot forget about the French press! (Coffee, tea, cream And sugar provided as well!)
There is a nice little hiking trail behind the shack and a stream that travels down the mountain and provides the most beautiful sounds throughout the day and night. The sound of crickets filled the air allowing for a truly off grid experience. The stars at night were phenomenal and there is plenty of open field space to lay down your blanket and star gaze all night long.
We are close to Woodstock, vt which gave easy access to groceries and shopping. The sugar shack is tucked away between the mountains giving us a weekend of beauty and relaxation.
I cannot recommend this place enough!
