Welcome to Slatki Dom (“Sweet Home” in Bosnian), our beautiful retreat in the woods. Our land abuts a hiking trail on the side of Spruce Mountain, and we are about ¼ mile from the trailhead to the Spruce Mountain Trail and L.R. Jones State Forest, the oldest state forest in Vermont. Cross-country skiing trails are nearby, and ski resorts are 40 minutes to an hour away. Ten minutes down the road is the quaint Plainfield Village, with a small pizza shop, used bookstore, café, and gas station. Five minutes farther is Fox Market and Bar, along with the River Oddities shop. A twenty-minute drive from the cabin brings you to the cities of Montpelier or Barre, which host a variety of museums, parks, local stores, restaurants, and a few larger chains and grocery stores. At night, the futon folds into a double bed that comfortably sleeps two. There are lamps upstairs and downstairs, as well as plenty of outlets to charge your devices for the next day’s adventures. Accessibility Notes: Parking is available for two cars. There is a 500-foot walking path through the woods to the cabin.
