This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. In the off season starting after Thanksgiving through April, there is no water or toilet or shower facilities available. Please check for exact dates. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. There are a few miles of rail trail access just down the road.

For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

Towner's Country Paradise started out as a wild forest and pasture for cows in the 1940's, owned by Llewellyn Towner. In the 1960s, Llewellyn's love for aviation led him to construct a small airstrip and hangar, and then his son Terry began to plant Christmas Trees (no more cows) and clear much of the land. We constructed it with locally harvested and milled lumber and approached the build with minimal impact on the surrounding forest. The cabin is off grid and uses a small solar panel which charges a battery for the water heater and a light. We utilize rain water for the shower and sink which collects in a large tank. The bathroom functions with simple composting toilet. (Woodchips in a bucket) The property is situated beside a creek and 90 acres of hardwood forest which campers are welcome to explore. the cabin is hidden about 3/4 of a mile off the road behind a small mobile home park and is completely secluded and campers will have total privacy.

This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby). The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails. IMPORTANT DETAILS: This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling. Queen sized bed - we provide the linens. The driveway is narrow - so nothing in tow. Drinking water is provided via jug and dispenser. There is a brand new outhouse (no flushable toilet) We have a designated spot for campfires (smores are a must) There is an older propane grill outside for guest use

We had a fantastic trip thanks to the site being fantastic, and Sam being a wonderful host! There was an unforeseen issue early on and Sam was quick to immediately get my wife and I on a different site without us having to reschedule, no questions asked. Not to mention the grounds themselves are close enough to stores/other outings if you need anything. I would return again in a heartbeat.

Weekend Trip to Angie's Country Cabins B&B

We had an amazing stay at Angie’s Country Cabins B&B, truly a hidden gem. Angie is an incredible host who goes above and beyond, with attention to every little detail that makes the experience feel special. The cabin was cozy, beautifully decorated, and the peaceful setting made it the perfect romantic getaway for some much needed rest and relaxation. The breakfast was phenomenal, honestly one of the highlights of our stay. We only wish we had more time there and will definitely be coming back. For food nearby, Whiskey Hill Saloon was a 5 star dinner spot with a great atmosphere and delicious food. We also stopped by Ron’s Treasure, which was such a cool experience full of amazing antiques and history, and the owner is a genuinely sweet guy. If you don’t mind a short drive, The Nana Peruvian Kitchen is absolutely worth it, some of the best Peruvian food we have had. Highly recommend this whole experience to anyone looking to unplug, relax, and enjoy a peaceful romantic getaway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

10/10 u should stay here. i usually dont even like glamping/cabins because i would rather just camp but this was very worth it. the cabin is isolated enough to feel like you are alone you dont even really notice other ppl are staying on the property. its the perfect size for a couple and we stayed with our cat too. the bathtub was so nice and having a covered bbq and pantry outside makes everything really easy. if you want to be outdoors/in nature but straight camping in the northeast winter/cold/stormy season is too much for you this is perfect. Sam is great and was always around if we had a issue or needed help with something. he let us pit fire some ceramics as well which was a blessing.

The river is so beautiful and peaceful that you can see and hear out the window. The cabin had everything you could need and Robyn was very quick and helpful with any questions. And the area is very dog friendly.. The heater was plenty warm for the cold nights.. I am a smoker and we were getting a little bit of rain so Robyn brought me over a canopy and set it up for me. Weekend Trip to Dickensen Farm: Cabins & Camping

A perfect Maple Weekend with my two grandsons. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a pack of friendly dogs that made us feel right at home. Our cabin was tucked away down a quiet path in the woods—peaceful, private, and just far enough from the world. There were beds for each of us and table and chairs for playing games and eating. The highlights for the boys were definitely the 'farm chores.' They got to help the owner boil a fresh batch of maple syrup over the open fire and spent hours hanging out with the chickens and collecting eggs. Between spotting deer in the fields and the cozy cabin life (complete with a handy indoor loo for those middle-of-the-night trips!), it was a wonderful rustic experience. We’re already counting down the days until our summer return!"

I spent a day at Robbin's little cabin by the Poultney river with my partner, and it was so wonderful! The river is beautiful, and the cabin is cozy and felt like the perfect amount of space for a nice little dinner, cards, reading, having coffee. The cabin felt well stocked and Robbin was really responsive! I'd definitely come back :)

Weekend Trip to Dickensen Farm: Cabins & Camping

I had such a great experience at Dickensen Farm. I was immediately greeted by the property pawtrol lol, and kept company by two new furry friends nearly the whole weekend. Cabin was a perfect, clean shelter. This one is the closest to the house — but the property is peaceful and quiet. I believe I was the only guest as it was a rainy and cold weekend, and I felt lucky! Walking through the woods and listening to the rain was great; but the tin roof while reading was even better. I am used to camping with my sleeping bag and buddy heater so I was comfortable at night with no problems. Kimberly is a great host. I appreciate meeting kind people. Thanks for sharing your farm!!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat and Tiny Cabin

Brought my girlfriend and her two pups to Robbin’s little cabin for a pre Valentine’s Day get away. The cabin is adorable and Robbin is a wonderful host. The cabin is well stocked and a perfect relaxation station for a little system reset. Had a a visiting Bald Eagle perch in the tree above me while I grilled some steaks on the little charcoal grill for dinner. We also enjoyed the fire pit and even took a midnight walking adventure on the snowmobile trail that was near by with the pups.

We had the loveliest stay at this Hipcamp cabin last weekend. It was unbelievably cozy and warm inside, even with the temperature dropping to -1 degrees outside — the perfect little winter retreat. The hot tub was absolutely amazing, especially under the cold night air, and quickly became our favorite part of the stay. Sam was such a kind and welcoming host, making us feel comfortable and taken care of from start to finish. You can really tell how much care goes into this place. We left feeling relaxed, happy, and already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, magical getaway

We absolutely loved this A frame house! It was so cozy and magical. Our host Sam was amazing, he is so sweet and had everything set up and ready for us. He was also very quick to respond when we texted him with some questions. The heat inside the house works so well, the fire and hot tub outside were incredible as well. We had a great weekend at the tiny house! It was thoughtfully equipped, comfortable, clean and homey. The propane woodstove kept us warm in the snowstorm. Neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed breakfast at Perry’s in town. Great value for the price. We would return.

My NE travels are more limited than I'd like by my vehicle's 2WDand low clearance, so this location was great in terms of accessibility. There are a few houses around, but it still felt private and safe, especially once inside, as the cabin's windows facing the woods and river behind the house where no other houses can be seen. The host provided very detailed instructions for the cabin and the area, and was very responsive throughout my stay. The propane stove was incredibly warm even as overnight temps dipped into the teens and lower.

We loved the cabin and the fact that she has a hot tub we brought our dog and the whole experience was lovely and her breakfast is in bed as a must! And we are hopeful to go back this summer and experience the summer community!
