Learn more about this land: A wonderful rustic, private, off-grid get-away, perfect for couples, families, and pups who enjoy camping (log cabin with wood furniture available, you may pitch your tent anywhere on the property - leave no trace).  You may see some wildlife throughout the property (including a milk snake that lives in the cabin wall, but is harmless). It is a quiet, rural, farming area. Once at the cabin there are only two to three houses within a half mile (through the woods), so you will have a private space all your own. Winter camping is special - cozy wood heated cabin, hundreds of acres for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, or snowmobiling. Plan ahead, we do not plow the driveway in winter; plan to shovel an off-road parking space, and transport your gear up to the cabin (1100'). Wood is provided. Onsite: water pump, 2-seat outhouse, wood stove, campfire ring, wood, & propane grill. Exclusive access for nature hikes, streams, forest, pond, swimming, bird watching, star gazing, etc. A wheelchair that can navigate grass and some ruts can enter the cabin, but not the outhouse, and the sleeping loft is up stairs (there is room for a cot or mattress on the first floor); the porch is accessible through the cabin. When you book, you are confirming your understanding of the following: there is no electricity, running water, or std. bed/mattresses. You bring own air mattress, bedding, and gear you will need. All-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. We welcome special events, family reunions, or weddings, if your plans do not require utilities (you may bring a generator or other battery operated items, as needed). Note for winter guests: We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes) Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. Air mattress or cot and whatever bedding you need. Paper products (cups, plates, utensils, toilet paper, etc.) Matches/fire starter (there is wood on-site, and a propane grill for cooking that has a self-starter). Bug spray. Cooler and ice. Lawn chairs.  There are a few tables, several chairs and benches. There are 2 picnic tables (one outside and one inside). The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside. There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed. Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

Ithaca: Cascadilla Meadow is located just 5 minutes from Cornell University and 10 minutes from all downtown Ithaca has to offer. Ithaca is well known for its many incredible restaurants, Farmers Market, local stores and art, theatre, wineries and breweries and of course, live music. Finger Lakes: In just 10-20 minutes from this location, you will find an abundance of waterfalls including Ithaca Falls, Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls. Cayuga Lake is great for Sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Lake swimming is available at Myers Park in Lansing or Taughannock State Park outside of Trumansburg. Jump off a diving board into the pool at the bottom of Lower Treman Falls or hike upper Treman to Lucifer Falls, possibly the most beautiful short hike you’ll ever find. The area has hundreds of incredible hiking trails to choose from. Plus, Seneca Lake and the Finger Lakes Wine Trail are just a bit farther west! Biking: The roads of the Ellis Hollow area are popular with cyclists, while nearby Yellow Barn Forest, Hammond Hill and Shindagin Hollow are popular spots for mountain biking.  Full disclosure: Cascadilla Meadow’s RV parking is close to a moderately used local road. We are also in a very popular area to the Amish. They are great neighbors and we are sure you will see them pass by regularly with their horse and buggy. The property is also next to a show horse farm that has two donkeys so be prepared to hear them also . Very entertaining. We are currently a new site and are doing construction on the land. Please be patient with us. We have one other listing on the land so there may be times you do see other guests. We have a home under construction on the property so we also may be there at times. Enjoy a hike in the trail or take a short trip to Mexico point to put your Canoe or kayaks in to enjoy Lake Ontario. Lake Ontario is well known for fishing. You may see deer, Fox, muskrat, etc. you may hear coyotes in the distance. A flash light and a hatchet and bug spray are definitely recommended to have on hand.

Note for winter guests: We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes) Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside. There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed. Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

Finger Lakes: In just 10-20 minutes from this location, you will find an abundance of waterfalls including Ithaca Falls, Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls. Cayuga Lake is great for Sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Lake swimming is available at Myers Park in Lansing or Taughannock State Park outside of Trumansburg. Jump off a diving board into the pool at the bottom of Lower Treman Falls or hike upper Treman to Lucifer Falls, possibly the most beautiful short hike you’ll ever find. Please be patient with us. We have one other listing on the land so there may be times you do see other guests. We have a home under construction on the property so we also may be there at times. This site gives you a quiet wooded area to camp for the night or two with a porta potty for luxury camping. This site allows you to have a quiet place to camp without a lot of people and kid free. Most campgrounds have children but Stars and Sage does not allow children. Please feel free to bring your own camping needs as we only provide a fire area. The site is approximately 19 feet by 39 feet in dimension. You will be close to Mexico village and about 20 minutes from the city of Oswego. Plenty of biking areas all around . Enjoy a hike in the trail or take a short trip to Mexico point to put your Canoe or kayaks in to enjoy Lake Ontario. Lake Ontario is well known for fishing. You may see deer, Fox, muskrat, etc. you may hear coyotes in the distance. A flash light and a hatchet and bug spray are definitely recommended to have on hand.

I spent the weekend at Round Top Retreat alone to unplug, relax, and recharge and it was exactly what I needed. The wood burning stoves did an excellent job at heating the cabin. It got below 40° at night but it was probably 60° inside with the fire going. The stove is also great for cooking. It was a little rainy during my trip so I did all my cooking indoors. The driveway continues uphill past the cabin and turns into a hiking trail. I think it's supposed to connect to the Robinsons Hollow State Forest Trail but I couldn't find it (the official trial head is just down the road). It was still an invigorating 2 mile walk. I spotted lots of birds and a couple deer.

Drift off to the sound of the creek, sheltered from the rain. Cook over the fire, play guitar and sing. This secluded campsite on an agroforestry farm, where we grow chestnuts, along with 15 types of fruit and a handful of annual vegetables. The biodiversity is vibrant, and the birding is very good. 12 minute drive from Ithaca, 8 minutes to the center of Trumansburg, 7 minute drive from Grassroots, + supermarket, pharmacy etc, 6 minutes to the lower entrance of Taughannock Falls State Park Fire pit, grate, and firewood provided. No shower available, but the creek is deep enough to dunk in. No RV hookup available. Composting toilet nearby. No buckets needed. Campsite is about 400 yards from the road; car access to within 150 feet. The bugs aren't bad at all, because there's no standing water around, but bring bug spray if they like you. If you're looking for a place for excessive or underage drug/alcohol consumption, we're not here to narc you, but please find a different campsite. Our friend Meg lives in a camper about 200 yards away, and has a friendly dog named Chaga. "We're dog friendly if your dog is friendly." Text me if you need an early check-in or late check-out. Come and relax at the pond! Our property has 40 acres of mixed woods, farm fields and fun. It includes a small pond providing activities such as net fishing, swimming, and paddle boating(shared) as well as a larger pond for kayaking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Apart from the pond, other activities include the wooded walking trails (That includes fairy houses and hidden ceramic animals), an old fashioned playground with a merry-go-round and swings. Access to a shared pavilion with a pond view which has a large shared fire pit and electricity for charging devices. The property has dozens of newly planted fruit trees, rows of berries, and a large vegetable garden as the start of a farm. Camping options include RV dry camping in the open field or on a gravel pad with a 20amp electric hookup (no use of AC please) OR a tent site in your choice of the open field, on the edge of the pond, or in the woods. Each site has a small fire pit. There is clean primitive toilet on the property for use. **NO PEANUTS** or shelling of peanuts on the property, peanut butter is allowed in your rented site only. THEM... and like so many others, you will fall in love just like we did - so much so that we became part of the official breed-up program to bring this wonderful breed to the U.S.! (You're welcome!) :) We currently have 10 wonderful Valais Blacknose sheep and lambs! We also have 3 adult Nigerian Dwarf goats, 4 baby goats, the sweetest miniature donkey you'll ever meet, named "Walther," and a shy mini horse named "Harry Houdini!" :) All of our animals have free-range of our property during the day, but are penned up at night to keep them safe. *** IMPORTANT TO NOTE: We strongly recommend bringing ear buds/plugs to block out the barking of our LGDs (livestock guardian dogs) through the night. They're just doing their job, but if you're not used to it, you may not sleep very well, so please bring ear buds or plugs! They absolutely love people, so they may get curious and try to come hang out with you in your tent! Because of this, we can provide you with a spray water bottle to keep them away from your tent. It's an unharmful way to keep them at bay, so please let us know if you'd like to have it on hand during your stay. Additionally, we strongly recommend bringing boots for walking around on the farm, as well as clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Especially in rainy weather, the grounds can get very muddy, and beware of animals who sometimes jump when greeting guests! Please do not hesitate to scold any of the animals should they jump on you! They are sometimes overly friendly and need to be reminded to mind their manners! *** Come pitch your tent (or rent one of ours, subject to availability!) on the grass or on the wooden deck near the edge of our pond, or walk our beautiful 19 grassy and wooded acres to find your favorite spot to set up camp. During your stay, feel free to explore our property, do some fishing (bring your own gear!) or just relax by the pond, get to know our friendly animals, take a snooze in our hammock (coming soon!), feed the chickens, turkeys and ducks, pet our loving LGDs, pose for professional pictures while snuggling with our sheep, goats, mini donkey and mini horse, make your own pizza in our DIY outdoor brick oven stove, (coming soon!) then start a campfire and enjoy s'mores, before settling in for a cozy night under the stars!

We are a family that travels in our RV fulltime and have created this private oasis for travelers to unwind. This location is in a quiet area in the rolling hills of Morrisville. Our property is a rolling hill with views from the top and a pond and flat area at the bottom, we don't actively mow the hill and large field area, the camping area is mowed. We are 5-10 minutes from a couple of small lakes for boating and fishing and 15 minutes from larger Cazenovia lake. We are also close to Delphi falls that has hiking and a really nice waterfall to visit and walk in. There are other local parks and hiking in the area for things to do. We are only 5 minutes out of Morrisville and 15 minutes to the town of Cazenovia and Hamilton (weekend farmers markets). There are plenty of places to visit that are close including local wineries and 3 casinos within 30 minutes. 2 RV sites tucked away on a paved county road 3 miles off of Route 414 in Lodi, NY. These sites are close to the NY State Wine Trail with the closest winery a 10 min drive away.
