Robinia in Glenwood is a working homestead located on 24 acres of mostly forested land. The predominant species in the mixed hardwood forests are Robinia Pseudoacacia (Black locust) and Black Walnut. There are places on the land and a short walk away along DuBois and Glenwood Heights Roads where there are wonderful views of Cayuga Lake. It is less than a mile walk or ride to the Black Diamond Trail, a hiking and biking trail that extends four+ miles North to Taughannock Falls State Park and four+ miles South to Cass Park, the Ithaca Children's Garden, and the City of Ithaca Municipal Pool. And all of downtown Ithaca. Hundreds of adjacent (although not accessible) acres are wildlife preserves, abandoned orchards, and a working honey bee and bison farm. Bathroom and hot showers available in the house, included in price, indoor kitchen and an on-site enclosed porch space for rainy days available for separate fee. Gardening, produce and flower-picking can be arranged on-site in season. Within biking distance of Finger Lakes National Forest in Hector. Located half-way between Ithaca and Trumansburg, down a long driveway. Amazingly quiet and private.

This site has easy access to the driveway, on flat and gently sloping mowed grass in an grove of mature Black Walnut, Dawn Redwood, Ash, Willow and Black LocustTrees. It is close, as well, to the bathroom facilities, and shares a terrace, garden, picnic table and lawn furniture with the main house. An additional campsite-located, campfire ring, rustic picnic table and charcoal grill are also provided. Bonfires are available, in season, as an add-on, and are supervised by the hostess.

Pitch your tent in our clearing, by the Mulberry Tree or near the black locust woods. Only a five minute walk from the main house and parking, but you are in a completely private area filled with trees, flowers, birds and wildlife. There is a mowed loop trail to the house, and downhill toward the Lake are ten acres of bushwhacking terrain and hardwood forests to explore, too. Or, enjoy camping near the house and plumbing, directly next to your car (or in your camper or RV) at the Bonfire Clearing. Bonfires are by appointment only, but you are free to enjoy a campfire and as much free campfire wood is available for your use as you might ever need. Charcoal grills are also available for use. The campsites are walking/biking distance from the Black Diamond Trail, from which you can walk or bike about 4 miles into Ithaca, or about the same distance to Taughannock Falls State Park with its lakeshore beach, waterfall and rim trails, and marina. Just a little further up the road from there is Trumansburg, a quaint, historic village.

Incredibly friendly host - was greeted and oriented to the location, lots of space to find a place. Close to town as well as other more local food/etc. options in the area. Had to leave quickly after one evening, will look to stay here again in the future - beautiful area of the United States.

This was a perfect place to camp outside of Ithaca! Krys is incredibly welcoming and made staying so easy. The bonfire site is large, and has lots of shaded areas for you to set up in. She has chairs and tables that you can move to your campsite, and there is plenty of firewood! There were almost no mosquitoes which was a pleasant surprise! We liked exploring the paths through her property, and felt comfortable letting our 7 year old wander on his own. We would absolutely go back to stay here.

Krys was very communicative and answered all my questions prior to arrival. She greeted us when we arrived. The grass had been freshly mowed and the campsite locations were large. We needed to be near Ithaca and Cayuga Lake and this was the perfect location.

For us, this spot offered a good combination of seclusion and convenience! We felt perfectly tucked away at our site, but were very conveniently located near things we wanted to do, including Ithaca and Taughannock. The land was meadowy with many mown paths plus enough trees for shade. We camped near (and used) the pair of "hammock trees". Really nice to have a real bathroom! Krys was friendly and relaxed, and even with other campers at the other spots, all were spread out, we only really saw anybody while arriving and leaving. Thanks Krys!

It was a great experience of camping at Crys’ private camping site. It was so peaceful being surrounded by wild flowers and woods. Our host Crys was very kind and communicative.

Tent camping on Krys’s land was fantastic! Well kept, soft grass; quiet but close to Ithaca; easy to get to great bike routes (on path, gravel or road); woke each morning to a chorus of lovely birds. And Krys was a warm, welcoming host. Would definitely stay again!!

Krys has many options for campers, we chose the side of the lane which was level and perfect for our campervan. She has a bathroom and shower available, as well as electric hook up at certain spots. She was very welcoming and suggested ideas for our bike ride and gave local restaurant info to us as well. It was very quiet and private. We will look to come back if we are in the area again!

Krys has a little slice of heaven- the property is beautiful and quiet! I went on a discovery walk one morning to view the wild flowers and flowering plants around the homestead. Lightning bugs fill the sky at night. Krys is very accommodating and helpful! She helped us with a late-night power issue, gave us great recommendations for area attractions and allowed us to use the house bathroom and shower! Thank you Krys! We're looking forward to staying again!

Krys has a beautiful piece of property that is close to Ithaca and Trumansburg where we attended the fantastic Grassroots festival. She was communicative and helpful with lots of local tips. We would definitely stay with her in the future!

Beautiful spot! Super quiet and peaceful. The host is super welcoming and accommodating. We have never seen fireflies like that. Absolutely incredible!

Beautiful spots in amongst a variety of mature trees. Peaceful and serene. Krys is responsive, helpful, and so hospitable. She knows a lot about the surrounding area and is a charming host.
