Underhill Inn is a small homestead located in the Finger Lakes region tucked in the rolling hills near Dryden Lake. Campers unfamiliar with Trial are welcome to take advantage of a Lesson on one of our Rental Bikes, while the Obstacle Course is also super-fun on foot (for walks or runs), mountain bike, trials bicycle, or for playing with your RC rock climber! We have night lighting to turn on at your request, even if just to sit in the evening and enjoy the lights reflecting off the pond-We surely do! We are located on NY 38 but our traffic is not obnoxious (just Log and Milk Trucks, Farm Tractors and Commuters). It is very peaceful here. Your camping can be as private, quiet and leisurely as you wish. The views and big sky are gorgeous in our corner of farm country. Our small pond (tho not suitable for fishing or swimming) provides entertainment w/ turtle sunbathing raft and lots of nature's visitors. Pets always welcome off-leash with your guidance. About the Trials Riding: We host 6 Mototrial events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud. Riders are friendly and considerate. If spectating is not your thing- no worries either. Non-event days are very laid back. On any given day if Trials riders come here for practice (or instruction with Mike) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or play on the course. When riders are here (barring events), it's typically only 2-4 riders at a time. Multiple activities co-exist quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all. This is your on stop spot for motorcycle Trials. Mike and Laurel have made a welcoming spot on the hillside for RV's. Easy access to parking from the road. They provided us with a nice welcome packet. That had plenty of information about the area. Places to eat or see. Most people who camp here will be coming for riding. Mike offers lessons as well. But it would a nice spot for anyone looking for a getaway. Don't be put off by the riding. This is not a motocross track. You might be amazed at seeing riders tackling the obstacles and trials bikes are quiet. You might even want to try it yourself? Looking forward to a summer stay. Thanks.

Weekend Trip to Hawk Meadow Farm

We had such a great stay! The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and their sweet pup made the visit even better. The campsite itself was wonderful: spacious, private, and stocked with plenty of firewood, which made our evening around the fire super easy and relaxing. We also got to enjoy some beautiful fall foliage during our stay, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-kept spot to unwind!

Weekend Trip to Smyrna Lake Campsite

We stayed in a 26' trailer, and the hookups were excellent. If you have dogs with good recall, this is the perfect place. Being able to let them off leash was so appreciated. The lake was beautiful and crystal clear. Our dogs loved swimming, and we enjoyed paddle boarding. Next time we’ll come earlier in the season so we have more daylight to enjoy everything. 1 night at Hawk Meadow Farm

Steve's property was beautiful! We were graciously greeted by Lucy and Steve's wife(I'm so sorry to be blanking on her name, she was very welcoming as well!). Our stay was shorter than we would've liked, but following a nice dirt path to get to our site, we came to a nice cleared out space, with plenty of firewood with some covered just in case of rain. I had my wife and 2 year old with me, and it was so nice to sit by the fire, with absolutely ZERO light pollution to see the stars, and nothing but the sounds of owls and other wildlife in the area. We're already looking forward to booking another trip sometime next year!

2 nights at Tryals Park Camp & Obstacle Course

This was my second time staying at the little barn on the hill and my first solo trip there. It was a rainy autumn afternoon when I showed up but perfectly cozy inside the hayloft, where I set up my hammock. Laurel got me acquainted with the many new amenities, as they seem to always be making wonderful upgrades to the property. Mike and Laurel's land is the perfect place for me to go when I don't want the hassle of setting up my tent and want a wall and roof and a little electricity. To a tenter, this is a luxurious paradise and I can't wait to return.

Weekend Trip to Hawk Meadow Farm

We loved camping at the Pine Tree site! It was beautiful, quiet and secluded while still being conveniently located between Watkins Glen and Ithaca. Steve and his wife Anne were lovely hosts and always available to answer questions. Their shop was full of all sorts of treasures from handmade soaps and beautiful cards to tinctures made from mushrooms grown on the farm. The bath house has a composting toilet, cold water sink and shower that is solar heated in the summer. It's beautifully built earthen constuction decorated with gorgeous repurposed glass. Thank you for the much needed get away, we hope to be back soon!

Weekend Trip to Hawk Meadow Farm

Peaceful and secluded campsites. Both existing camp sites seem like they would comfortably fit at least 2 couples if you wanted to double up. The property has great wilderness to wander, and the hosts, including Lucy the sheep dog are all wonderful. The bathhouse is an earthen building with a cold water sink and shower, and a composting toilet. Beware of what you are getting into with that, and you'll be fine if you are used to those things. Both sites have pull-through capability if you are pulling a micro camper like I was, and prefer not to back up with it. Easy drive into Watkins Glen, moderate drive to Ithaca.

My husband and I had the pleasure of being the first hip camp guests! What an amazing experience! We were so happy to visit this hidden gem! It is underdevelopment so it’s under a tad of construction. However this little gem is definitely one I would visit again. Joe was an amazing host and stayed up late for us after a small embarrassing navigation on my part(pfft truck driver getting lost lmbo) I would overall say the experience was amazing. I wouldn’t bring tiny humans… like I said still under development and the ponds… being a hover craft mom still for my adult children. But as a doggie mom my dogs loved it! Thanks again Joe!

This place is awesome! Perfect for camping with a trailer. All the hookups you need plus WiFi! Quiet and private tucked back in the woods. The lake is really calm and peaceful. Roberto checked to make sure we were all set and definitely takes care of this place. 10/10 recommend!

Down the ridge from the cabin is another set up ready for guests to use. Including a picnic table, chairs and fire pit. With even better views of the valley below.

Weekend Trip to Awe Inspiring Views Cabin & Tenting

It was absolutely beautiful. The view was incredible. We could see for miles. We didn't camp but just enjoyed the evening. We built a campfire and cooked and made s'mores, but be warned, bring extra kindling. It's crazy windy. I can't say enough good things. The free bread was an amazing bonus. We can't wait to go back

Laurel was the sweetest host. The camp site was in pristine condition. Easy access to electric and water. Do note a road with speed off 55 mph is within a 100 yards of the camp site. Great place for a few days stay or even a quick overnight stay.

Weekend Trip to Smyrna Lake Campsite

This spot exactly as described. Very private but everything here and well laid out. The walk to the lake is a bit steep but 110% worth it if you like to fish or be by water. We caught at least a dozen largemouth bass, several 10-12 inches, a yellow perch and several large pumpkinseeds. RV Site is gravel and damn near perfectly level. Couldn’t ask for much better, appreciate Roberto and his family are willing to to share this very nice location, A+ Hipcamp!

We booked the Landing for a short stay for traning seminar about 30 minutes away. We were greeted by Laurel shortly after we arrived. The site was nice and everything we needed. We didnt stay long enough to really enjoy the site but they had a table a chairs firepit with chairs and firewood availabe to use. Would absolutley reccomend staying there if your looking for a place in the Finger Lakes area.

Weekend Trip to Tryals Park Camp & Obstacle Course

Staying at Mike’s and Laurel’s property was an amazing getaway! Close to great food and cute towns, less than 5 minutes from an amazing state park, and less than a half an hour away from Ithaca and some of the finger lakes! We also had an absolute riding Trial Motorcycles for the first time! I recommend the scavenger hunt to get familiar with the property and the Trial biking course. Looking forward to our next stay!
