1 night at Tryals Park Camp & Obstacle Course

I Trail Run with my partner Buddy- Border Collie. I want to do OCR someday and this place caught my eye. Booked this so that my new girlfriend could see what Buddy and I do all the time- and where she could watch easily. This Obstacle Course is set up with 'points-to-get-gates' for MotoTrial dirt bikes. It was perfect for Trail Running and OCR practice. I ran/climbed the harder white line gates a few loops when we got there. Later Buddy and I walked together with my girlfriend the easier Orange Line gates under the lights. It was a great place for short course training and having a great time with a non-runner. Had the Course to ourselves. Off-Leash for Buddy was primo so he could run(and jump) the course with me. Hilltop camping great view. Eyesite to other sites- but far enough from other sites. Will come again when Mike changes to new Course Section Markers for his next Event. He's offered me my own Scorecard and to devise some parameters for myself. We plan to stay in Barn next time which Laurel showed us. Looks good. Mike apologized that some areas of Course were between mowing rotation. Looked fine to me. Place is well kept. We were invited to have wild black raspberries growing in Section 5. My girlfriend loved that. Hosts are honest, old-school, old-fashioned, courteous people. Available when we had a question- then disappeared for our privacy rest of time. Refreshing. Price so cheap for what's all here. No other place like this around that I know of.

Lauren And Mike were the best of hosts. They met me when I got here, showed me all the possible places I could park, and gave me a packet with information about local things to do and tips and hints about their campsite. They were the best and I would come back here anytime. They have been very communicative and even notified me when part of my set up had blown off center from the wind while I wasn’t here and came out and tied it back down for me. Their pond is teaming with wildlife, which was so cool to see and hear. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🐸

Weekend Trip to Meadow Basecamp

The Broken Barn campground was a once in a lifetime experience for myself and the lads. We spent our days soaking in the summer sun by the crystal clear creek and watching the stars by the fire with the evening breeze. Although its location is not far from the main road, it still felt secluded and private from any publicity. Can’t wait to spend more summer nights in this one of a kind place! One thing I will note: The creek is about a 50 yards from the site itself and we had to use a scythe to carve a path through the tall grasses.

Weekend Trip to Underhill Forest and Farm

It’s was nice. Stayed at pond site. Nice and quiet. Goats in the background and frogs serenaded me to sleep. Pond was peaceful and cool next to a campfire at night. I didn’t see a single person which I like. Grass was mowed and signs were easy to see and read. Also received a nice email from host before arrival making find site super easy. A little small debris around site. Took me less than 2 min to pick up. Other than that great spot. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

We’ve enjoyed spending a weekend at Rick’s farm. Would recommend staying there to anyone, thanks again for having us!

Weekend Trip to Awe Inspiring Views Cabin & Tenting

This place was absolutely perfect! Do yourself a favor and stay here. There is everything you could want (a fire pit, a picnic table, a clear area to camp, great views, a super clean composting toilet, a pond to swim in and great hosts)! Amy and Brian were so lovely and helpful. They even left us fresh baked goods upon arrival. We really couldn’t have had a better time and that was even considering one night there was a major storm.

Our stay at Meadow Basecamp was thoroughly enjoyable! We especially loved the unmatched privacy and the perfect blend of open space backed by forest. The nearby walking trail was a plus, and the provided firewood was a very welcome touch. Noble was an excellent host; he made us feel welcome and gave us great tips for exploring the area. As expected for summer camping in the Northeast, there were some bugs, but they didn't detract from the serene and secluded atmosphere we found. This is a definite recommendation for anyone looking for peace and quiet in nature, and it's a location for exploring Ithaca and the Finger Lakes!"

2 nights at Tryals Park Camp & Obstacle Course

This was a really great camping spot for our travel trailer. Mike and Laurel could not have been nicer and were excellent communicators. The site was easy to back into, and the hook ups were easily accessed. The site overlooks a pretty pond and the motorbike area. It was very quiet, even when there was a small group practicing on the motorbike course. We enjoyed watching them! There is a picnic table, Adirondack, chairs, and a fire pit. We had our windows open for sleeping, and there was a little car noise from route 38, but nothing that should get in the way of a good night sleep. We would definitely try to book here again if we are in the area, Locke is in a really beautiful part of the world. Thank you, Mike and Laurel.

Harvest Moon is an excellent location to check out and get away from technology and your appointment book! The trails are lovely to walk around with exciting natural surprises as well as nice treats from Cassandra.

Weekend Trip to Sunswick Farm

The Cabin is a dreamy getaway, very rustic and perfect for a long weekend of reading books, listening to the birds, and watching the stars. I would recommend their property to anyone visiting the Finger Lakes region. Only 30 mins from Ithaca too!

Weekend Trip to Underhill Forest and Farm

The Underhill farm is amazing. Rick our host is helpful but gives you your privacy. We enjoyed our time fishing, exploring, making s’mores, and connecting with nature. Clean, private, beautiful. What else could you ask for?

1 night at Hawk Meadow Farm

Absolutely beautiful! The property is stunning and the free firewood and use of a well were wonderful. It was interesting that when we left two other groups were also leaving yet we had no idea they were there. The property is so well set up that we felt like we had paradise all to ourselves. Beautifully maintained and really enjoyed our stay. The pictures do no do justice tomorrow how much beauty there is.

What a wonderful camping experience! You will not find more gracious hosts than Steve and Ann. Their land is beautiful, and you can see how thoughtfully and intentionally they manage it. Steve was kind enough to share about his mushroom operation, which was fascinating for everyone, including our four-year-old. Our experience was peaceful, relaxing, and inspiring. We hope to return to Hawk Meadow someday soon, and we will never forget our experience there!

Underhill Inn is a small homestead located in the Finger Lakes region tucked in the rolling hills near Dryden Lake. We have a small garden, a flock of sheep and chickens, hives of honeybees and countless wild foraging on our 36 acres of pasture and hiking trails. Take a walk down to Brockendock pond and cruise across the water in a canoe or paddleboat to find peepers, heron, toads and turtles. Drop a line in the water to catch trout, bass and sunnies. The chicken coop is always bustling and there are plenty of eggs to harvest each day. A morning hike on the trails usually kicks up the deer and wild turkeys and at night the barn owl will sing for you if you listen close. Adults and children are welcome to pet and feed the animals on the farm. There are farm tours available where you can learn more about our mushroom garden, composting techniques, blueberries, felting, and more.

About the Property: Our unique property boasts quiet camping on a beautifully manicured MotoTrials Riding and Obstacle Play Course. 2025 marks our first year offering camping to the public, and we look forward to HipCampers joining us in our unique venue. All 4 camping sites are nestled into the Obstacle course. Trials riders and non-Trials Riders alike will find much to enjoy here. Campers unfamiliar with Trial are welcome to take advantage of a Lesson on one of our Rental Bikes, while the Obstacle Course is also super-fun on foot (for walks or runs), mountain bike, trials bicycle, or for playing with your RC rock climber! We have night lighting to turn on at your request, even if just to sit in the evening and enjoy the lights reflecting off the pond-We surely do! We are located on NY 38 but our traffic is low (Log and Milk Trucks, Farm Tractors and Commuters). It is very peaceful here. Your camping can be as private, quiet and leisurely as you wish. The views and big sky are gorgeous in our corner of farm country. Our small pond provides entertainment w/ turtle sunbathing raft and lots of nature's visitors. (Canoe available) Pets are always welcome off-leash if you are comfortable. About the Trials Riding: We host 6 Mototrial events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud and riders are friendly and considerate. If spectating is not your thing- no worries either. Non-event days are very laid back. On any given day if Trials riders come here (just to practice or instruction with Mike) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or playing on the course. When riders are here (barring events), it is typically only 2-4 riders at a time. Multiple activities co-exist quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all. There are many days no one is on the course at all (!) and you may have it all to yourself or possibly with another camper. Hope to see you in our slice of heaven!
