Coyote Canyon - MAIN CAMP SITE
Tent site · Sleeps 6MAIN CAMPSITE: Easiest to access, has a Weber charcoal BBQ, picnic table, fire pit, and a 10x12 glamping deck to pitch one tent on. Closest to the shower and sawdust toilet. Can accommodate 2 tents, but obviously the deck can only hold one. This campsite is relatively private, although other campers may come down to the stream in the general area. If you are looking for complete privacy, look at our other stream-side camp spot called "The Island".
UPDATE: 3-01-2021: We are absolutely committed to ensuring safety and cleanliness during this pandemic. We are cleaning and disinfecting literally everything to make sure everyone is safe.
DESCRIPTION: We have 60 acres of beautiful land with a trout stream that runs all the way through it. There are great campsites right next to the stream, including BBQ grill, picnic table, and the main campsite has a "glamping deck" if you don't want to pitch tent on the ground. We are just down a dirt road from Bowman Lake State Park, so if you like to fish, kayak, hike, or swim that's just a few minutes away. They have a great swimming beach with a lifeguard on weekends.
There's 6 campsites, but usually only one or two are being occupied at a time.
On most evenings or nights the coyotes are howling loudly, so if that seems scary to you, this may not be the place for you :) They usually only sing or howl for an hour or so.
IN/OUT: We provide one Jeep ride in when you arrive, and one Jeep ride out. It's about a 15-20 minute hike in, and probably 45 minutes to hike back out. So if you'd rather hike in and out, that's fine too. If you require/request additional Jeep trips, the fee is $10 per trip.
The Jeep seats 3-4 people. I have a trailer or cargo carrier behind the Jeep to allow you to load your camping gear for the trip into the canyon.
FIREWOOD: IMPORTANT! We have firewood. If you buy firewood it will be waiting for you at your site when you arrive. The average camper burns at least 2 bins per night. So plan accordingly at booking. If you require more firewood after you arrive, remember there's a $10 Jeep trip charge to bring you more.
Quantity Discount: Hipcamp doesn't allow quantity discounts, so we listed each bin of firewood at $10each, but if you want 4 bins, we offer that for $32 ($8 ea). You must let us know ahead of time how many bins of wood you want, and we'll email you a link to pay online for the quantity discount.
DRINKING WATER: We have three nearby springs, and we fill 7 gallon aqua-tainers with fresh spring water from the top spring. This is the best tasting water you'll ever drink in your life. Each campsite gets one 7 gallon aqua-tainer of spring water for every night you book.
Our land is ideal for people who really want to get away and be isolated. The campsites can't see each other, so it's very private. It's remote, and there's not a lot to do other than enjoy the nature and the stream and lots of beautiful hiking.
We haven't seen any poison oak or ivy on the land, which is good. There's a sawdust bucket toilet on site, and an outdoor hot shower (it's a private shower stall that's open to the trees above).
WANT IT ALL TO YOURSELF? Ask about exclusivity if you want the entire place to yourself. We've done this on occasion for people just wanting to be completely alone.
We look forward to meeting you and having you stay with us :)
