Camping site is at the end of a gravel road where your site will be looking at a peaceful meadow and mature beautiful cedar trees and a Mountain view. This site is for camper vans or truck campers that are self contained as there are no utilities or bathrooms. Tents are also welcome as long as you bring your own portable toilet and dispose of waste yourself. The property is in the Northeastern Catskill Mountains with plenty of hiking, biking, and fishing nearby. Also plenty of area events and close to Westkill Brewery. Lots of wildlife to be seen- deer, turkeys, and an occasional bear so please keep your food contained and any garbage cleaned up. This is a carry in/carry out campsite. Firewood is available for the fire ring at $10 for 10 pieces.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Meadows Campsites

This was a great private area to set up tent. My friend and I hiked all day and then found our area all ready with a box of firewood (paid extra and worth it!) and 2 buckets of water. There was a nice bench which we used as a table to set up our dinners. Plenty of room for 2 tents. Watched the fire until we went to bed. We woke up the next morning to the birds chirping, packed up, went on another hike and then heading home. The Catskills were beautiful, as usual!

My 11-year-old daughter and I camped on Greg’s Cedar Lot site in our truck camper, and it was absolutely fantastic. A short path through the forest leads to a secluded, peaceful clearing with a level spot for camping, a perfectly placed fire pit, and breathtaking star-gazing at night. We added the firewood option and were impressed with the high-quality, bone-dry hardwood provided. Even with our 12.5-foot-high truck camper, the tree-lined path offered plenty of clearance. This site truly felt like a private oasis — we can’t recommend it highly enough!

4 nights at The Old Catskill Game Farm Zoo

This is my family’s second time going to Fido’s Vineyard and we would definitely go again! This is a great space for large groups as well as bringing your pets. The campsite is fenced in which allows your pets to roam freely without worrying about them wandering. Upon arriving at the campsite it was clean and stocked with some supplies to get your camping trip started. Shawn was a great host that responded quickly to my messages and provided us with extra supplies such as water & wood when we needed it. But the area is also close enough to gas stations, stores, and farmers markets if you decide to make a quick trip out for extra things! I highly recommend this site to others, we had a great time.

Weekend Trip to Free-dom Soars

I wouldn't say this is one of the best campgrounds out there, but think of it like this: youre not renting a campsite here. You're renting the whole part of the river, which happens to be campground. The neversink river by the campsite is at most waist deep, cool but not cold, gentle flowing water, LOTS of fish (especially bluegills), pristine clear water, bald eagles, super friendly and welcoming hosts, and nice neighbors (they are the reason why its not so private like the other review mentioned, but as long as you respect their private property and noise level, they are great neighbors). To be frank, I wasn't so impressed at first, but by the second night, I knew I was going think about this place frequently. Luanna - thanks for hosting! Looking forward to visiting again in the future :)

Her campsite is spacious, beautiful, and has a fantastic location right by the river. I wholeheartedly recommend Free-Dom Soars to all types of campers, whether they are traveling solo or with family.
