Adirondack Adventure Base

5 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents50 acres · Paul Smiths, NY
Overlook Lean-To, Treehouse, primitive campsites, and so much more! This is glamping at its finest. Our property was originally used as a seasonal hunting/fishing camp in the 1920's. Sheila and Bob bought it in the early 80s and have turned it into an amazing compound built for their family. They blinked their eyes and their children are gone, so this beautiful 50 acre diverse property and its private trail system are meant to be shared. Nestled in a mature, private pine forest, this well cared for property boasts abundant wildlife and a network of walking, skiing and mountain biking trails which take you past wetlands, cliffs and a variety of forest types. They have all kinds of lodging options from a beautiful vacation cabin they rent, to an Adk lean-to, to a Treehouse, and primitive campsites. You'll find a little bit for everyone at Adirondack Adventure Base.

Camp Unirondack

10 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents9 acres · Croghan, NY
Unirondack is located on a 9-acre plot of land on a small peninsula on Beaver Lake in the Western Adirondack Park in Upstate New York about 30 miles east of Lowville, NY. We acknowledge that we are humble stewards of land previously occupied by the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, specifically the Mohawk and Oneida Nations. We are roughly 90 minutes north of Utica and 2.5 hours from Syracuse. The camp is comprised of 10 cabin buildings of various ages, most original t0 the property from the 1920s. We have a large presentation/theater space, a small recording studio, a field for large group activities or sports, a gaga pit, a swingset and small basketball court, a large two story Adirondack-style lodge with fireplace, and a large heated dormitory-style building. Our maximum sleeping capacity is around 150 although our dining hall only seats 120 at a time. On the lake we have a boathouse and a beautiful artshop studio space. Our boathouse  has 14 canoes, 10 kayaks, and 2 sunfish sailboats and we have a small beachfront with a dock and swimming area. Additionally we have a large campfire circle which can seat about 100 people.

Camping On The Water In Rockaway

1 site · Lodging1 acre · New York City, NY
Relax not by the water but on the water with lots of fresh air, lots of sun, and a 7 minute walk to the beach. Freja is a 34' 1970 Nautaline and she's been our home away from home for 9 years now. We love her dearly and would like that all guests treat her with respect. She is 54 years old now and has quite a number of quirks. To be clear, do not expect a pristine, hotel-like experience. Staying on Freja is like camping in a cabin on the water. There is a small fridge, microwave and a toaster oven and basic dishes, cups, silverware. Stove does not work at the moment. There is a sink on board, and we use a gallon water jug to do the dishes that is filled on the dock. The main bed is long and narrow and roughly full size, so just big enough for two. There is smaller bed for humans under 5'10" that can be created in the pilot house. You need to bring your own sheets, pillowcases and towels. A sleeping bag is best. There is one space heater and a fan. The bathrooms and hot showers are on land near the marina office, a two minute walk down the dock. Sorry, we don't rent to people with kids or pets. Only 2.5 blocks away from the Boardwalk and long stretches of amazing beaches along the peninsula. Easily accessible via the A Train Subway, buses, car and the ferry from Wall Street (shuttle bus drops you off by the Marina). Right outside the Q22 bus, direct to Jacob Riis Beach and Fort Tilden. There are plenty of things to do in The Rockaways, including lots of highly rated bars and restaurants, water sports, and other art/cultural happenings throughout the year.
