The lodge, where the Airbnb and pool are is centrally located on the land. We rent out the lower level guest quarters for non-campers. We have a Hobbit Hut near the Frog Pond, a Boho Bus near the entry way and several Vardos (gypsy wagons). For our tent campers there are tent sites in the Eastfield, including the Movie set location of the DM Cabin, and for diehard campers the beauty of primitive pack-in/pack-out camping of Freedom Field is a joy! Feel the energy of the sacred land.

We are a homestead located on 20 acres. Our property is nestled at the end of a gravel road. We have rolling fields that our two cows and our rescued buffalo graze. You can see chickens pecking around and the lazy tom cat lounging in the shade. The property includes 2 ponds. Our main pond is available for catch and release fishing.
The 1 secluded campsite is located at the back of the property amongst large shade trees where you can find a picnic table, fire pit, and rustic outhouse. There is an outside water pump available but not located in the site. Also we provide garbage and recycling cans for your convenience.
There are two homes on the property. Your hosts reside in the log cabin with family living in the tiny home. Host is available to assist with any questions or concerns and will be able to show you around the property.
The campsite is primitive camping but within 15 minutes to the quaint town of Mountain View. Buck Hollow on the Jack Fork River is within 5 minutes down the road. Great for fishing, swimming and canoeing. Can assist with transportation of kayaks for a $20. Fee.

Narrative about Selby Farm:
Selbys have lived on this farm since 1990. Doug and Brenda are retired from teaching at nearby public schools. Our Farm is now dedicated to boarding retired horses for their owners.
We practice rotational grazing for the health of the horses and the health of our pastures. The horses live in a herd as they would in the wild. Basically, they are hanging out with their friends! They also get regular care and feed and so are VERY happy. You will see and probably interact with the horses if you wish. They are guaranteed to come closer if you have treats like carrots and apples slices.
Our quiet county road used to be the main road along the river. A hundred years ago it was called "Shanty Road". The shacks that were along it housed workers that harvested food from farms in the river bottom. The only evidence of those shacks now is perrenial flowers growing in unusual places. The area is inhabited by professionals working in nearby towns and cities. In fact there are only five homes along our 1.5 mile section of Copps Chapel Road.
The native Americans who used this area did so because of the great diversity of wildlife and availability of water. Also the view is amazing in all directions. Was using this ridge top encampment for security, or just because the view is so satisfying?
The Missouri River is on the far side of the bottoms now, but has been very close historically. There is also a large spring flowing from a cave nearby. These river hills are composed of soils blown in from the end of the last ice age. Being near the river, erosion has cut down the surrounding area making the scenic topography associated with Missouri River valleys and river hills.

You can book multiple sites if you want to stay as a group.
We do our best to allow 1 reservation to stay on site at a time. If only 1 site is requested the others are then blocked to allow guests privacy during their stay. If another person requests to stay and it is booked, we will check with the current reservation for approval. We also allow groups to book and camp together if needed (use both rv pads, or tent camp).
We do offer 50amp and 30amp power options (2 different RV parking sites).
Some people have commented that our driveway entrance seems narrow for larger rigs (Class A's and 5th wheels). We've had 53' long rigs (5th wheels)and 45' (Class A's) pull in and get parked with no issues. You will need to be able to back into a spot for either 50a or 30a service. We do have additional parking available for extra vehicles.
If you have a tow vehicle/toad, you will need to detach prior to arrival. There are 2 trucks stops less than 5 miles away (TA and Pilot) or there is a park with a large parking area off of David Hoekel Parkway you can utilize.
We do offer 20amp power and extension cord for tent campers (either in our tent or can be used in your own tent.
Free cold showers available.
A bundle of firewood is now included for use in provided fire pits in needed/requested.
Outdoor Hot showers available at a charge of $5/person. This includes the use of propane and a portable hot water heater.

We are 5 miles from Wentzville which offers a Walmart, Target, Sams Club, Lowes, Home Depot, multiple grocery stores, Rural King, Charlies and multiple restaurants.
We have a stocked pond with catfish, bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass, black crappie, carp and turtles. There is a Windmill that aerates the pond (do not climb on it). You can fish the pond must practice CPR (catch photo release). Or you can feed the pond fish & feed out chickens. We will provide the fish food and chicken treats.
There is plenty of wildlife (deer, fox, raccoons, armadillo's, birds, etc.). Deer will walk by the pond and driveway a couple of times a day. We also have a group of free-range chickens and French guineas (eggs may be available during your stay). There are bike trails in the area, paved roads you can ride on to explore, wineries nearby, a petting zoo and pumpkin patch.

The pasture is quite visible from Old Route 66, nearly adjoining it. Therefore people traveling “the Mother Road” find it convenient to stay with us. Grass is the best forage for horses, especially older ones, so we take care of our pastures, making for beautiful scenery for campers, too. Plus the entire back mile is bordered by old forest. And there is a swimming hole not a half mile away.
This is a quiet and private site, bordered by a neighbor's old forest on back, other neighbor's cattle pasture on side, and you're in one of the pastures used by the Horse Sanctuary. (You are camping about 1/4 mile, more or less, from our house.)
We regularly see coyote, wild turkeys, deer, fireflies, and the like.
We are just 1/2 mile off Old Route 66, therefore there are quirky little museums and great restaurants (for such a rural area!).
Plus we are only about an hour's drive from Branson. MO. which is a known tourist attraction.

Kirk and his wife are fantastic hosts! This isn’t remote camping—I set up my tent in their large front yard, and a family with a camper were in the driveway—but it’s quiet and peaceful. I looked out on rolling green lawn, a pond, and woods, and lolled in their comfy hammock. Songbirds and water birds, the occasional deer, and an adventurous tiny kitten were welcome wildlife. I’d ordered some of the extras (morning coffee and fresh eggs), and woke up to a pretty basket of goodies that had been set out on the picnic table. This is truly a blessed and beautiful spot to spend a night or a few days.

Staff were gracious and accommodating. We requested 2 changes in the reservations that were made very kindly. Pet friendly, clean, spacious area with terrific amenities for families: mini golf, playground, etc. I'd definitely recommend a stay!

Let me just tell you this campground that bill has is an absolute gem. We camped over in the meadow on site number 4 it was just the most beautiful spot and we couldn't have been more happy with the experience. Don't let the walk in scare you though Bill is more than happy to ferry your stuff to your campsite with his John deer lawn mower and trailer. There is a little spring fed stream that runs though the property as well as a pond. Not to mention its close to Johnson shut ins and elephant rock. Stay here and you won't be disappointed!!

Very great host to work with. Communicates well! Lovely back pasture with thick soft grass to camp on. Keep the zip closed though, Tiny bugs and spiders live in the grass.
Beautiful green property, friendly dogs, and rescue horses mill about. I said hey to a few over the fence. An armadillo shuffled thru around 11 pm, kinda freaked me out but once we saw each other they waved me off and went on their way! It was my first time using this app to find a camping spot and it was worth it! Best of luck to Candida the gracious host and go stay there at her place!

We booked the space on super short notice and were super pleased with our stay! Kirk met us in the driveway with water bottles. Very friendly and helpful! We brought our dog with us and there was plenty of space for her to rimo around off-leash. The space included electric hookup and wifi, which was great for a relaxing evening after traveling all day! The property is beautiful and quiet. Highly recommend!

We had a good stay overall. Shelly was incredibly helpful and kind, and having ice and firewood available on site was a huge convenience. Cell service was spotty and Shelly always answered text and was flexible when we decided to stay another night. There were 10 of us, ages 11-65, and we had plenty of space and privacy. Everyone loved riding dirt bikes and ATVs, searching for rocks and geodes, and playing in the creek.
The location was convenient for visiting the Black River, Blue Spring, Rocky Falls, and Johnson Shut ins. A Dollar General and a grocery store are very close as well.
My only complaint was the porta-potties needed cleaned and the shower didn’t drain completely due to the tilt of the concrete. Because of this some of our group wouldn’t shower.
I would stay here again if we return to the area.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hawks Bluff. Elizabeth was very friendly and an excellent host. The animals were a special treat to visit with and the gift/rock shop was stocked with some awesome specimens of rocks and minerals. The amount of collectable druse and agate found here is mind blowing! We definitely reccomend checking it out. I know we will be back on a future visit soon.

The campground is beautiful and a nice retreat from civilization. The campsite was tucked away in the woods away from the other campsites and felt very secluded. Bill was a great host...even helping to truck all of our gear to the campsite. Hope to be back soon!

Such a lovely place host was super sweet and the farm animals are so cute. We enjoyed a lot it was our first time camping we had a lot of fun. Don't forget to take your hiking boots with you land over there is dampy.

1 night at D'Ranch at Clearwater
D'Ranch is a great place to stay. The property is beautiful and the hosts terrific. I stayed in the cabin with electric and really enjoyed it. It was clean and comfortable. I like that they have kayaks and a canoe to use to explore the lake.
Tracey is very accommodating, friendly and informative about the local area.
I have stayed there multiple times and each time it has been great.

My daughter and I visited over Memorial Day Weekend! The hosts are AMAZING! The grounds are gorgeous! They have great amenities for camping (loved being able to use the paddleboat). I would Highly recommend staying here! Also, the farm animals are such a fabulous addition to a camp spot!

Second time at D’Ranch! This trip I brought my grandson and Mom. We had so much fun!! Played in the water, looked for cool rocks, said hi to all the animals (several times), learned to fish and played endlessly with Allie “the wittle doggie.” She was the perfect match for my little guy. So much so that we missed out on the bonfire after an early bedtime but we could still see it from the tent! Tracey and Ted are the best. I think this might be our new annual ‘kick off summer’ trip. Excited to try out the canoe and kayak next.
