A unique, octagon, cedar log cabin, situated on 40 secluded wooded acres. A short hike over the Sucker River on a storybook foot bridge to a generous deck which surrounds the cabin. You will need to be very physically fit to stay here. You must climb a steep ladder to the loft and do a 2ft step to get off the deck to the marshy land below. The cabin has a main room which holds two sofas and an indoor fireplace. There are games, books, binoculars and a telescope available for guest use. To access the sleeping loft, climb a ladder. The sleeping loft holds a Sleep Number bed. Guests are welcome to use any spices, pantry items and cookware that are in the kitchen. There is no running water in the kitchen or bath. There may be well water in the blue/green jerry cans . You could use that for the sauna or washing dishes. Guests need to bring their own potable water. The first 400ft of the trail is a swamp with a simple elevated boardwalk through most of it. 95% of the time is it passable with hiking boats or street shoes, but there might be some muddy spots. About the property: Trembling Gardens is my 10 acre swamp camp paradise in the rural suburb of Rice Lake. The property is about 20 minutes away from downtown Duluth and Canal Park and has easy access to the North Shore.

Our yurt sits on the edge of a wild woods on the banks of the Cloquet River overlooking a meadow that is an active forest restoration project currently in process. From your door, you can access a loop of trails that wind through the woods, to the river and back to the yurt. Get back to basics. There is no electricity or running water in the yurt. Camp lanterns and solar lights are provided as is refillable fresh water and a propane camp stove/oven with pots/pans/utensils. The yurt is heated solely by a wood stove and there is plenty of firewood a short distance away with a sled or wagon to use for hauling. A campfire pit is just outside the yurt with a hanging grill and grilling tools. A detached outhouse is a short walk from the yurt and is for your use alone when you're here. In the winter, a Luggable Loo is available to bring to the yurt to eliminate trips at night in the cold to the outhouse. The yurt contains a queen bed with linens and a single camp cot available on request. Dogs are welcome in the yurt! We charge a $25 pet fee per reservation. If you'd like to bring a dog or dogs (limit 2), please add the Pet Fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. In the warm months, the river is great for swimming and fishing. (And Coming Soon: Kayaks, river tubes, and canoe availability pending the sorting of proper insurance.) In the winter, two pairs of snowshoes are included for quiet walks through the woods. *Note: Train sounds and some road noise can be heard from the yurt. The train has been described as "quite loud" by some guests and as sounding "off in the distance" and "pleasant" by others. The crossing is a half mile away. The kitchen is fully stocked with your basic cooking and dining essentials. If you don't want to do dishes you are welcome to bring your own paper plates, etc. Coffee, Salt, pepper, dish soap and hand soap, toilet paper and one roll of paper towels provided. There is no running water, but you will be supplied with an electric pump faucet with 10 gallons of water for the kitchen sink for doing dishes, etc. There is also a pump faucet for the outhouse sink. You can heat water on the stove with the pot supplied. In addition, 1 gallon of drinking water will be supplied also. There is a heated outhouse next to the cabin which has a shower stall in which you can shower with an electric pump shower, 120 gallons of water and on demand water heater. Towels are provided and if you need more water, you can contact us, and we can refill at our home which is located next door. Please allow notice in case we are not home at the time. The contact information will be provided with your booking confirmation. You have your own private yard on our 6 acres with a BBQ pit in the summer months, firepit and grill off of the back deck year-round. If you chose to bring a four-wheeler, canoe, boat or snowmobile there is plenty of parking space depending on the quantity. Snowmobiles & side by sides are available for rent 3 miles up the road from the cabin. Come and unwind or explore the many wonders that the Northwoods has to offer! The interior of the cabin is newly refinished. The exterior will be improved as time goes by.

These trees were the home to Monk Parakeets. These small green parrots are the only members of the parrot family to build stick nests and to nest colonially. Needless to say, they were very loud, but one of my favorite childhood memories! This little plot on the Minnesota map has been our home for the last three and a half years. Spot was a little smaller than initially expected but, made it work with my 30' TT. Jared was very sweet, communicative & accommodating. Even discussed winter options & it was nice to know I had them. Occasionally heard a car or two go by & once in a while, you can hear the train, otherwise very tranquil & peaceful. Driveway could use some leveling but my Pontiac took the punishment like a champ. Spot was level enough that I didn't need to do anything to level my camper. Would recommend.

Loved camping at the Cedar Grove! It was a beautiful location with a small view of the lake from the camp site. It was surprisingly private without having to walk too far from the parking spot. I really appreciated the cart that was available to bring supplies to and from the camp site. Also the outhouse was the nicest one I've ever used. Would definitely camp here again!

This lovely little campground in Floodwood is a treasure! Conveniently located to highway 2, it is located along the St. Louis river. We enjoyed our site overlooking the river. It has recently been extensively renovated; all the sites are flat. Although we did not use the shower house, all the buildings looked very new and the campground is neat, tidy and well maintained. Definitely will be back.

And look at this view toward the outhouse! Even it's gorgeous!

This was absolutely more than I anticipated it would be. What a friendly family, amazingly friendly dogs, and welcoming atmosphere. Even the kids help with the guests! We felt very welcome, the firewood was endless, and Molly and her husband have thought of everything. You could need. Everything from an umbrella in case it rains to a toothbrush, just in case you forgot. One. Homemade bread was waiting for us and that was completely a surprise and absolutely wonderful! I can't say enough good things, but this family and this property and this rental is a delight. Very private feeling yet welcoming atmosphere. Thank you!

This is an amazing Glamp! A hidden gem for sure! Molly was super nice and informative about the land and places that were close by to visit. Her dogs are really friendly and it was fun to meet the sheep and see Kevin run around! We loved her flower bouquet and enjoyed some fresh produce from the farm. This place was great for an overnight stay. I enjoyed the fire and the deepwoods experience. It is a few mins from a main road so not much traffic. I could hear the waterfowl on the nearby lake and would occasionally hear some of the neighbors dogs off in the distance. The land looked very lumpy on first inspection, but I found a place for my tent without a problem. There was extra firewood for purchase on site and plenty of deadwood you can pick up (not cut). I stayed in mid Oct. so the mosquitoes weren't bad. Follow the gps coordinates to a great no-thrills camp in the deep woods.
