Hi there!
We have 5 yurts spread across our 40 acres with each yurt having lots of individual space and privacy. We hand built our yurts from scratch using wood from our land and local lumber, as well as sewing all the vinyl ourselves. The yurts are almost completely locally sourced, everything was handmade by us, and sustainably sourced. We are really excited to share the land we love with folks from near and far.
Your yurt is equipped with a full sized futon, two burner stove kitchen with all cooking appliances and utensils, 2 gallons of fresh drinking water (as well as oil, salt, pep, coffee, and tea all provided), a small dining table with chairs, and an outdoor fire pit.
A short 7 min drive from our property is beautiful Little Sand Bay beach. This free, public use National Park beach is gorgeous with views of Sand and York Islands, great swimming spots, $2.00 hot showers, and kayak launch.
Important things to note about your yurt site! The access to our property is via a long dirt road, this road is accessible for all vehicles but it is about a 2min drive through the woods to get to the yurt sites. Once you arrive on the property your yurt is a 2-4min (depending on which yurt you choose) hike up a hill from the parking area. I recommend backpacking in your items. Wheely coolers and bags will not enjoy the terrain. The Portapotty is located at the parking area as well. That being said, a little bit of walking will be involved in your stay :) If you love walking you are in luck and can explore the trails on the property!

You might drag your bumper or hitch on your way down the hill to the spot. It's not hard to drive, it just is a bit steep and only gravel. We are always here to help if need be when you arrive.
Bring bug dope, the bugs can be very hungry right about dusk time til about 30 min after the sun goes down.
If you have kayaks or paddleboards you are welcome to bring them and enjoy the lake. Watercraft (boats/jet ski's) not allowed.

Rob loves permaculture, managing soils, pruning apple trees and feeding his community nutrient dense food. About this space
The "Kick Back Tiny Shack" has a queen size bed, small futon bed (for a child) along with two single camp cots. This tiny house can sleep up to four people (2-3 most comfortably) depending on your needs. There is a mini fridge with mini freezer along with a mini gas range/oven, microwave, coffee pot and toaster. There is a TV and Wi-Fi. The cabin has a freestanding gas fireplace to keep you cozy and warm and air conditioning for the hot summer months. Come prepared to relax. This is a rustic cabin with all amenities so no need to pack up dishes, bedding, towels, etc. (bring sleeping bag and pillow for anything other than the queen size bed.) The kitchen is fully stocked with your basic cooking and dining essentials. If you don't want to do dishes you are welcome to bring your own paper plates, etc. Coffee, Salt, pepper, cooking spray, dish soap and hand soap, toilet paper and one roll of paper towels provided. There is not a well or city water, but you will be supplied with an electric pump faucet with 10 gallons of water for the kitchen sink to heat water for doing dishes, etc. There is also an electric pump faucet for the outhouse sink. In addition, 1 to 2 gallons of drinking water will be supplied depending on the length of your stay. There is a heated outhouse next to the cabin which has a shower stall in which you can shower with 120 gallons of water and on demand water heater. Towels are provided and if you need more water, you can contact us, and we can refill at our home which is located next door. Please allow notice in case we are not home at the time. The contact information will be provided with your booking confirmation. You have your own private yard on our 6 acres with a BBQ pit in the summer months, firepit and grill off of the back deck year-round. If you chose to bring a four-wheeler, canoe, boat or snowmobile there is plenty of parking space depending on the quantity. Snowmobiles and side by sides are available for rent 3 miles up the road from the cabin. Come and unwind or explore the many wonders that the Northwoods has to offer! The interior of the cabin is newly refinished. The exterior will be improved as time goes by. No unauthorized guests or pets as a fee may be added and Airbnb does not cover this.

Experience upscale camping–Glamping in the Forested Hills of Lake Superior. Sailor Springs is a small three-site campground located just two miles outside of the picturesque tourist town of Bayfield, WI. 2023 will be our first year of operation and we’re excited to host campers on the property and provide a unique camping experience.
The campground is spread out over 5 acres of forest that you’ll hike into from Bresette Hill Road. After parking at the trailhead, you’ll gather your bags and hike into your glamping site. The trail winds through the woods, leading you first to a valley where the seasonal Clark Creek runs through in the spring. The first two campsites are on the other side of this valley. The trail can be steep in spots and requires a moderate level of fitness and mobility to reach the secluded campsites. The third site is a bit farther into the forest, the little A-frame cabin, Anchor sits on the edge of the spring-fed Brickyard Creek that flows year-round.
We have many plans for the property and depending on when you stay, the campground will be in various stages of development. The campsites, trailhead / parking area, and trails are scheduled to be completed in early spring. We hope to add amenities such as a camp sauna and screened-in gazebo later in the 2024 summer / fall. Located just down from Bayview Beach, our property sits nestled between Lake Superior and the Onion River, which runs through the property just behind the cabin.
You will have a private beach on Lake Superior all to yourself. While neighbors may be around from time to time, especially on weekends, you will not have to share anything but the sound of waves hitting the shore and birds chirping as the sun sets in the west.
You can set up a tent by the cabin or on the beach side in the grass or sand areas—or even on the beach itself if you'd like to catch a sunrise. There is also room for an RV, teardrop trailer, or camper van, if that's what you'd like to bring.
A fire ring and firewood are provided, along with some chairs. Kayaks are available after booking for a fee, but you are responsible for safe operation and for understanding when weather conditions are not suitable for their use.
At this time, the cabin is not included or open for use, nor is there power available for outside hookups. There is no running water (besides the river and Lake Superior), and no toilets on site. However, you will pass public toilets on your way in—they are roughly 90 seconds away by car. Otherwise, you are responsible for bringing a camp toilet.
Pets are welcome but must be leashed when others are around and well-behaved. Please dispose of waste properly and respect the natural surroundings.
We've had this property since my siblings and I were kids, so please be respectful of the property and neighbors and treat others as you would like to be treated in return. You should not be bothered by anyone. Please practice pack-in/pack-out and clean up after yourselves.

Bayview Beauty turned out to be one of those camping spots that feels like a lucky find. I camped here alone with my dog, Thor, and loved having a private sandy beach on Lake Superior just steps from my camper. I spent my time listening to the waves, walking the shoreline, and enjoying a fire in the beachside fire pit. Peter provided plenty of chairs and firewood, which made it easy to settle in and enjoy the property.
This is a primitive site without hookups, so campers should arrive prepared for that. But if you’re self-contained and looking for privacy, beautiful Lake Superior views and a responsive host, this place is truly special.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay—and Peter absolutely delivered on the awesome lake, awesome beach and awesome host! I can't wait to come back!

This was a lovely place to stay! The property is beautiful. I could have spent a week walking the property! Early mornings were gorgeous and peaceful. Craig is an exceptional host- he anticipated needs and was very welcoming. He even picked up some fresh artesianal water from a well in a nearby town for us when we shared that our drinking water was less than ideal.

I did have a little trouble at the beginning getting online, but the friendly and helpful host got me on right away. I have a very large trailer that took some skill to get in and leveled, but it was quite doable with blocks. I highly recommend! I also highly recommend Stevie Waters for kayaking!

This was a pleasant no-frills site. The boardwalk section of the trail was slightly sketchy when we were arriving as it was getting dark, but not a big problem. It’s a max 5 min walk from the road. The spot was very private but also still super convenient to get to the rest of town.

We love falling asleep to the sound of the waves in the tent at Balsam, and spending the day on the beach. We did the canoe orientation this time and enjoyed a paddle as well. Met some wonderful fellow campers. We come back every year.

Group trip
Staying in the yurt was amazing and cozy! Instructions were clear and helpful. Even on warm days it stayed comfortable. There is one lamp, so if staying there during shorter days, bring a battery operated light or lantern. A fun experience living lightly off the grid. Be sure to get the garden cart first to help unload your vehicle. We had zero cell connection- a landline is provided.

2 nights at Little Chili Farm
Cute and quiet place to relax in. Bianca was really nice and welcoming. Her dogs were chill and super cute. You could see the stars on clear night. Would highly recommend!

A fun first ever stay in a yurt! This site made our visit to Apostle Islands NPS so easy; it let us enjoy Bayfield during the couple days we had without worrying about as much set up and tear down as traditional tent camping. We loved the quiet nights, the space to cook and eat, and the ability to get to town quickly. Be prepared for mosquitoes in the outdoor spaces.
