Swimming is not prohibited, but is at your own risk. Several fields are available as well as a small and large tent site along the river. Campers may park in the field. We are located along the North Country Trail and only a few blocks from their office as well as a 10 min drive from the Kent county youth fairgrounds. 25 minutes to Ionia fairgrounds There is several restaurants and breweries walking distance away, joined by a social district as well as several cannabis stores. A dollar store and ice cream shop are 2-3 blocks away. And a country style breakfast restaurant is next door. Have a fire or go fishing down by the river, or visit the animals at feeding time. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana. The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards, shops and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat. New this year is our chicken coop and run. We (Bill) has always wanted chickens.

The peace and tranquility never fails to recharge us when we stay here. Freighters pass daily, the night sky is so dark you can see the Milky Way like it’s a river of dancing twinkling lights just begging for a photo. The location is private, yet close to Drummond Island and De Tour Village for rock hunting or just a nice evening dinner at one of the restaraunts on the island (Esther’s Mexican) is fantastic! We look forward to many more stays in this one of a kind location.

By mid-August the grassy area was more than knee-high so I set up on the pad. Luckily I had big tent spikes and they worked fine. I don't think normal tent pegs would work well FYI.

Everything went great. I booked same day and everything went smooth. Good directions. It was definitely quiet and peaceful. Any sounds that weren’t nature were far away and faint. I was also greeted while setting up camp with a pretty awesome cat. I was secretly hoping she was a stray so I could keep her lol. I knew better because the kitty was just a little too friendly and looked healthy and sure enough. She’s a pet there and I hear a bit of an ambassador of sorts lol she hung around with me about 20 or 30 minutes. I really enjoyed it. Otherwise I saw deer out in the fields lots of birds. It’s a cool spot.

Elli’s Lazy Days is now at the top of my favorites list as far as campsites go! We stayed an entire week while exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and it served as a perfect home base. Julie and Eric were wonderful and friendly hosts and checked on us regularly, the bathrooms were always clean and stocked, and there was a store of ice and firewood available for campers all week. Our view of the night sky was gorgeous! We’re already talking about coming back next year ♥️

The site was so big I didnt know where it began or ended. Plenty of privacy and full of nature. The amount of firewood is fair for the price compared to other local areas. We were only there 1 night but had originally planned for 2 or 3 due to a work conflict. Easy set up. Only recommendations would be to have numbered sites for future, but not necessary because the owner was quick to respond to messages.

Mike was a very kind host and offered to help us if we needed anything. The sauna got quite hot which was amazing and the shower was a much needed refresher. The site has 3 campsites on property. Only one of which is actually on the water. On either side of the lot are 2 houses so it is private without you feeling like there is Noone there if something goes really wrong. The site is very close to the corner store Krupps (5 minutes down the rode) for ice cream, firewood, gas and any other essentials. Houghton/Hancock is also a close 35 minute drive for restaurants, any shopping that you would like and larger grocery stores + Co-Op. I would definitely come back/recommend a friend.

Upper Peninsula

The Upper Peninsula is Michigan’s wild toupée, with swathes of old-growth forests, sandy beaches, and inland lakes stretching along the southern shore of Lake Superior. Northern Lower Peninsula

Bordered by Lake Michigan to the West and Lake Huron to the east, the northern Lower Peninsula has the highest concentration of Michigan state parks. Miles of mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking trails await in the Huron National Forest, where you can choose from modern campgrounds or backcountry camping. Along the coast, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a must-see, Wilderness State Park is a dark sky reserve, and Ludington State Park Beach is a family favorite.

Southwest Michigan

Grand Rapids is the gateway to Michigan’s southwest, where the shore of Lake Michigan provides plenty of options for a summer camping trip. Lakefront cities such as South Haven, Benton Harbor, and Holland have sandy beaches, historic lighthouses, and seafront campgrounds. Forget tent camping in the wilderness—RV sites come equipped with full hookups, playgrounds, and watercraft rentals.

Southeast Michigan

Michigan's "Thumb" juts out along the west shore of Lake Huron, where Sleeper State Park and Port Crescent State Park are the big draws for campers. Below this, the west coast is ideal for a road trip, peppered with shipwreck dive sites, secluded beaches, and golf courses. South of Detroit and Lake St. Clair, Sterling State Park is the only state park on the shore of Lake Erie, with a mix of RV and tent sites by the beach.
