Absolutely fantastic land to camp on! The Grand River is right there. There are farm animals nearby. There are birds everywhere to watch! Thank you, Matthew!

It is a great site, right on the riverbank. Lots of waterfowl, very scenic with an area for a campfire which I always appreciate. My friend and I were in the area to hike the North Country Trail for a few days. We always appreciate camping in a place that feels safe. This location had the added bonus of being within walking distance of downtown Lowell. Highly recommend the Hop Hog for a great meal and Sweet Seasons for coffee, right across from each other. The host communicated perfectly, no issues at all with anything.

We loved our stay here! The host was super nice and communicated with us through all of our questions. It was not too buggy especially for being right on the (beautiful) river… I would suggest this spot to anyone interested:)

This was a pretty and relaxing place to spend a night. Our site overlooked the river and was at the back of Matthew’s field. There is a little trail down to the river if you want to sit down there or swim. There was also a big raft with an anchor available. Overall, the area was quiet, but you could hear the generators of a nearby factory running during the night. You could also hear the farm animals, but we really enjoyed that. This was a nice place to do a one-night camp trip with our newborn: accessible, pretty, not too rural. There weren’t any signs marking the sites, but the paths to them were well-mowed.

We had a great stay for one night of tent camping at this site. Matthew mowed a trail through his property, so it was easy to follow to guide us back to the areas open for us to set up our tents right near the Grand River. Added bonus were the cute sheep and donkey grazing in the field near by. We felt sheltered and safe here. We were able to walk the half mile into town to eat dinner and breakfast. We would recommend this site for tent camping to anyone that needs a safe place to camp for a night or two. There is no running water or toilet. But you could filter water out of the Grand River or walk into town and buy some at the gas station. Mild traffic noise from near by road was the only con, and it was not bad at all. Ear plugs would work well for light sleepers.

The campsite was beautiful and well maintained. The campsite was on a hobby farm, and it was very cute to hear sheep and other animals during our stay. Very friendly host! Would 100% recommend. We had a lovely stay!

Lovely property with lots of animals and good places to pitch a tent. The dogs will probably greet you on a rival and they are very friendly. Only concerns would be humidity and bugs in the late summer, I imagine this would be an issue in most places. I foolishly stayed very close to the river and had to spend a few hours letting my gear dry out in the sun. Being close to the river means you also don’t have to climb out of the valley if you’re on a bike so it was an even trade for me. Luckily, Keizers is within a short walk of the site and was a perfect place to fuel up and plan my day. Matthew was very friendly and hospitable, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We camped along the river and it was so beautiful! Matthew (and friends! and pups!) were very welcoming.

Communication was almost instant after I booked and consistent through arrival. Not too much and not too little. Gave me exactly the details I needed. The site was beautiful, very private, right on the river and very close to town. I did not get a chance to see the animals being fed due to my schedule, however I did walk over to the fence field to see them before I went to bed.

We really enjoyed trailer camping along the river at Matthew’s property. We only stayed one night but will be booking again in the coming months. Matthew and the dogs came by to say hi and we could hear the sheep a little bit while we enjoyed a fire! Better than a hotel to stay in before my daughter’s move in to college!!!

Enjoyed thar it was still close to the city, but because of that got road noise. Otherwise, only other "complaint" was the rooster who woke the neighborhood at 2am. And 3am. And 4am. Directions could be a bit clearer but we did get in late and picked the easiest spot. Ended up in grass knee high, but wasn't a deal breaker. There were some nice spots busy the water but assumed those were for tents (by the listing) so we just stayed in the field. Loved not having neighbors near by and relatively quiet. Would recommend and stay again!

This place is Amazing. Mathew came out and said hello after we arrived. Wished we would have brought fishing poles the river looks awesome. Close enough to town if we need anything. (Like a restaurant with great food just down the road) However secluded enough that we felt like we're in the wilderness.

Great farm with lots of friendly animals: roosters, turkeys, donkey, sheep it's a chorus! Matthew was a great communicator. If you want a rustic farm camping experience, this is your spot.

Camp on the Grand River-Mini Farm

Best of all Worlds. You are on a mini farm with sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks and a donkey. On the Grand River with privacy and beauty surrounding you. Plenty of trails to explore, including North Country Trail, a nice walking trail to an abandoned railroad bridge and on to downtown Lowell. You are one block from downtown, including a restaurant that abuts the property. But you have nature and solitude. And a very great host willing to help with anything you may need. Communication was excellent. Just book this. Oh, and if you like to resale there's ample opportunity in Lowell, as well as excellent dining choices.

Great place, good location, good price. Only thing I would suggest is getting a better fire pit, I didn't really feel comfortable without at least a metal ring or something. Otherwise no complaints.

Beautiful property, and very private and scenic campsite. Matt and his family were wonderful. Friendly, showed us back to our site when we arrived, and had a fire already started for us. We arrived later than planned, but he was very welcoming. We even were invited to join them for s’mores the following night. Plenty of firewood provided. Fishing off the bank in the river right from the campsite. We were given a tour of the animals they keep, which included a friendly lamb. Meant to buy eggs before we left, but in the chaos of packing up camp, totally forgot. You won’t be sorry to choose this site!
