Burt Lake place to stay!

Hidden Meadow is my go to place to camp when in the Burt Lake area. I’ve stayed multiple times and there’s no reason to stay elsewhere. The grounds are quiet and clean with great amenities. Most important Phil is super responsive to messages and was helpful in determining what site was best for me and my travel partner with two truck campers.

We had a good time tent camping in Hidden Meadow. We enjoyed the walking trail around the property and had a great view of the stars at night! The site isn't very secluded — you can see the house through the trees — but it was nice and quiet. The included firewood was great, and Phil came to check on us and see if we needed more. Nice proximity to hiking spots too. Would definitely stay here again!

I loved camping here! There was plenty of room with beautiful apple trees. There was a beautiful trail and star gazing spot. Nearby campers were far enough to be quiet and comfortable. There were amazing yard games that we loved to play. It was an awesome camping spot!

Best set up we’ve had at a place. This is our second time using Hipcamp. Definitely will be back at this location. Love the stargazing trail & shower set up was cool. Loved learning a new game called Kubb. Phil was a great host & to talk to. Also, enjoyed meeting the other campers.

Hidden Meadows is a delightful and well-maintained campground. Phil was responsive as the host and made sure our campsite had plenty of firewood and kindling. A water hose and electric power box were available as well. My buddy and I marveled at the legacy fruit trees, playground, and mowed walking trail. It's a beautiful and serene location. 5/5 stars, would definitely visit again!

Peaceful Stay

Sites were generous size, one of our favorite Hipcamps. It was peaceful and quiet and felt very safe. Phil greeted us upon arrival and told us to park however we felt comfortable in sight #1, he was around working on the property and available for questions. We enjoyed the firewood provided by Phil at no extra charge. Also we were able to see a number of shooting stars out in the field. A generous sized picnic table with umbrella was also provided.

Very cool little place. Quiet and peaceful spot overall. My experience personally wasn't great though, there was a loud group there when I went, who didn't quiet down til about 1am (including swearing loudly, having people come and go, felt like being at their party), but the policy does request that people be respectful of others so perhaps this was just a rare case? Regardless - Hipcamp said lots of people call it 'family friendly', but in hindsight I didn't see listed quiet hours so perhaps that was my mistake in hoping for that. The other guests in the spot near me came in late but apologized and were super respectful. And I might be more sensitive to excessive noise due to camping solo! But it really was a BEAUTIFUL spot, that could have been so peaceful, but wasn't. Not sure if I'd risk it to go back, but I loved the look of the place and feel of the land, and all the sweet amenities (great shower!), and Phil was SUPER nice!!

Beautiful spot, everything is very well kept and maintained. We had a nice, relaxing time and all amenities were on point. The sights were just a bit closer than we expected them to be, but nobody else was there during our stay, so no harm no foul. Would be a really great place to have a group.

We enjoyed our first visit to Hidden Meadows. The site was extremely level and the location was perfect for our trip. This was also an extremely quiet area so we slept great. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Peaceful Spot

Owner Phil was doing some work on our Rustic Site 4, so he upgraded us for free to Modern Site 2, which had water and electric hookups. It was great to have the camping meadow to ourselves, as no one had booked sites 1 and 3 the night we stayed! Loved the star gazing field with benches to watch deer roam through, foot-pump sink with soap next to the outhouse, patches of honeysuckle bushes in bloom, and yard game options! The free firewood, fire pit, and picnic table at each site was a nice touch, too. Didn’t have time or warm enough temperatures for a shower in our brief 12-hour stay, but the outside shower-house looked nice. Would love to see the little yellow building become an indoor, heated bathroom and shower-house in the future! Overall, it was a great, quiet place to stay for the night, and we would recommend it!

Camping with a Twist

I loved our spot #1. Phil's property is flat, clear of all debris, sites are spread out nicely so no one was looking directly into another and in fact, #4 is tucked away from the others. Electric is available to all sites. Water is available at Site #1. There is a toilet and a shower (not available during freezing temps). A nice surprise for us was learning about KRUBB. You need to ask Phil to explain the game and its history.

Phil’s campsite was so thoughtfully set up and stocked! He’s thought of everything! There was a trash can, TP, and hand sanitizer in the outhouse, along with a handwashing sink just outside. There were electrical adapters for the 30amp outlets to 15amps if you need that for a regular extension cord. Firewood and kindling was provided. Grates to cook food on the fire. Nice picnic tables to eat on. Yard games to play. Both Phil and his neighbor came to check on us at some point during our 4 night stay. There’s as much space between campsites here as you’d find at a state park.
