A very sweet and rustic Hemlock cabin, along with secluded 17' and 14" bell tents, plus 2 private campsites sit along beautiful Webb Brook. Walk through the large open field, away from everything, to this storybook setting. All you can hear is the waters of the brook rushing and sounds of nature all around. Graham Lake is just a stone's throw away. Great for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. This magical place is just beyond our farm where we you can buy fresh chicken and duck eggs daily at the house. In the cabin, upstairs, a lofted queen bed accessed by a sturdy wooden ladder. Downstairs, a wood stove with dining area, and living space with full sized convertible bed. Colby's Cabin has everything you need for your stay in a beautiful, off-the-grid, rustic log cabin on 10 acres in a wilderness area minutes to Webb Lake, Tumbledown Mountain & Mt. Blue State Park. An escape from the electronic world! But there is good cell/data service too. The cabin has solar and battery lights but no power or generator. Hand water pump in the kitchen during spring/summer/fall. 6 gallons of wash water provided in the winter. Spacious outhouse, solar shower, etc. (See Winter Conditions below). Glamping at its finest! This is a cozy place with led lights & solar lights, candles, gas cook range, gas refrigerator, wood stove, a dug well with hand-pump in the kitchen (pump can not be used when the temperature is below freezing) and a log cabin outhouse. King bed in bedroom; twin bunk beds and queen pull-out futon couch in great room Fully outfitted with dishes, utensils, pots,/pans, linens/blankets/pillows, books, games, oil lanterns, camp/bag shower and more. Firewood is included in the rental price. Propane, paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap are also provided. All Wheel Drive or 4WD is needed to access the cabin in winter and mud season. WINTER CONDITIONS (when ground is frozen): -4-wheel drive or All Wheel Drive needed. -There is NO running water from the well pump when the ground is frozen. The sink can be used with a bucket underneath. Bring extra water for washing. -Really big storms can cause reservations to be rescheduled -Extreme Cold Weather: When temperatures fall to 15 degrees or below, use the propane heater in the bunk room with the woodstove in the great room. Feed the wood stove every couple of hours. Snowmobilers! This was my first Hipcamp and it was great. The cabin had everything we needed and though it definitely got cold, as we were visiting in mid-November, a fire and plenty of blankets kept us warm through the nights. This is a lovely little camping and so peaceful!

Super helpful hosts and a nice Hipcamp. It is as advertised for the most part being a rustic cabin. We've stayed in many rustic cabins through Hipcamp. A few things to note: Even though there is a woodstove (we used every night to keep us warm) the cabin does not hold heat because the walls to the cabin have large gaps so we had to use 4 bundles of hardwood a night to keep it comfortable at night (temps in the 20° to mid 30°s) We were somewhat prepared because we knew it wasn't insulated but we were not expecting the amount of heat loss due to all the gaps in the cabin. There are other campsites on the property which are a good distance away (some within sight) We got a little freaked out by a group of campers walking up to the cabin at 10:30 at night and waking us up. (Definitely not the host's fault) but just be aware it's not the most secluded. Being in the cabin it was a little quieter but this spot is off a main road so there is a bit of noise from that but definitely not something that would completely deter me. The host was very helpful when we mentioned that we'd like to drive up to the cabin. They told us we were not able to do that (I'd just suggest taking that as an option off the listing because we chose this site in part because of that having 4wd) but they offered to help us bring our stuff with another wagon attached to the owners tractor which was very nice. The cabin is equipped with everything you would need for rustic camp: pots, pans, water, utensils.

Weekend Trip to Evergreen Conservation Area

I loved staying on Dan’s property. His camp provided everything my group needed for a relaxing fall weekend getaway: spectacular views, accommodating infrastructure, and absolute solitude. You can tell he’s put a lot of thought and energy into the property (and the Hipcamp experience ), which made the entire stay seamless and inviting. We will be back! Pro Tips: 1) arrive before dark to get your bearings, 2) pack light (it’s a good hike to the lake) and the rocky, rooty trail is not wagon-friendly, 3) Download offline Google maps and give yourself extra time for arrival because it’s way out there and GPS/cell service is spotty at best.

Dan was a gracious host with two cabins that were fit for anyone trying to get away for a long off grid weekend! Kayaks and canoes that are available make this spot that much more amazing. If you are trying to get away with your dog and not worry about any neighbors.. this is the spot. 10/10 recommend this gem of a spot with an amazing host!

Great spot with beautiful views. I had a nuthatch land on my arm in the morning like Snow White, which was a moment I’ll never forget. Walk from car wasn’t bad but pack to consider for folks with mobility or lifting abilities. Hoping to come back again!

This place was absolutely amazing. It is about a quarter mile walk to the lake cabin. We had to make a couple of trips to bring our stuff in. Next time we probably pack a little lighter, or organize items as must have vs nice to have and do an inventory of available items at camp before making a second trip. But honestly, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Humans loved it, dogs LOVED it. We didn’t see any moose but the loons and eagles were constant entertainment. Can’t wait to go back!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin was cozy with everything we needed for cooking right on hand. Super easy to get to, which made the trip more relaxing. The location was prime, about 100 yards of waterfront to enjoy, with sunny mornings and shady afternoons that were perfect for hanging out. Our two dogs had the best time. We’d absolutely come back!

Wow, this place is incredible. Dan’s provided directions were clear after we lost reception and the drive was beautiful. As chronic over-packers, we were pleasantly surprised by how quick and easy the trail to the cabin was, but once we arrived it truly felt like we were miles away from everything. We didn’t experience the volume of bugs that another review claimed, but knowing that they typically come with the territory when one is camping in the woods, we brought repellent and had no issues at all. I can’t say enough about this place. As lifelong Mainers, we have never heard so many loons. When the sun was out we took advantage of the canoe and nearby trails, but when it rained there was something magical about laying in bed listening to raindrops hit the roof and feeling the breeze coming through the screens. On that note, we brought our own sleeping pad but the ones provided were very comfortable. This place is special and the only negative was that we eventually had to leave! We miss it already and we hope to be back very soon. Thank you for sharing this place, Dan!

The cabins were cozy, and the mattresses on the bed made sleeping very comfortable. The kayaks and canoe were in great shape! Dan was great at communicating when we had any questions. We can’t say enough good things about this campsite! On our scale, this was “glamping” because we frequently sleep on the ground and drive much farther for this kind of peace and quiet. You’ll love the views, the wildlife, the multitude of choices for hanging your hammock and the gel pad on the bed in the screened in bunkhouse. All fabulous, and Dan is a very responsive and generous host!

Tent sites are well spaced, and the Graham Cracker Cabin is in the center of it all. Paths in the field are well mowed and the cabin was clean and open when I arrived. The cabin does get quite warm during the day so leaving the doors open was a big help to get a breeze going through. At night there was enough of a cross breeze down in the main room to make sleeping comfortable. The loft was too warm for sleeping in August. Mornings were lovely and quiet, and I snuck a small bowl of blueberries from the low bushes along the path to go with breakfast. Overall a lovely location that gets quiet at night so you can hear the chorus of frogs in the brook.
