Graham Cracker Cabin and Campsites

This was my first Hipcamp and it was great. The cabin had everything we needed and though it definitely got cold, as we were visiting in mid-November, a fire and plenty of blankets kept us warm through the nights. This is a lovely little camping and so peaceful!

Super helpful hosts and a nice Hipcamp. It is as advertised for the most part being a rustic cabin. We've stayed in many rustic cabins through Hipcamp. A few things to note: Even though there is a woodstove (we used every night to keep us warm) the cabin does not hold heat because the walls to the cabin have large gaps so we had to use 4 bundles of hardwood a night to keep it comfortable at night (temps in the 20° to mid 30°s) We were somewhat prepared because we knew it wasn't insulated but we were not expecting the amount of heat loss due to all the gaps in the cabin. There are other campsites on the property which are a good distance away (some within sight) We got a little freaked out by a group of campers walking up to the cabin at 10:30 at night and waking us up. (Definitely not the host's fault) but just be aware it's not the most secluded. Being in the cabin it was a little quieter but this spot is off a main road so there is a bit of noise from that but definitely not something that would completely deter me. The host was very helpful when we mentioned that we'd like to drive up to the cabin. They told us we were not able to do that (I'd just suggest taking that as an option off the listing because we chose this site in part because of that having 4wd) but they offered to help us bring our stuff with another wagon attached to the owners tractor which was very nice. The cabin is equipped with everything you would need for rustic camp: pots, pans, water, utensils.

The host's were extremely helpful in finding the location and their land was beautiful. I’ve never seen stargazing like we did in their field. The toilet is pretty far from the campsite which was difficult camping with children, but we made it work. I appreciated that they had that on site. It’s worth noting that a lot of this site is at an incline. With a small party it wouldn’t be a big deal but we were traveling with quite a few children and they fell multiple times because of roots on an incline.With a smaller party, it wouldn’t be an issue. I really enjoyed the fire pit set up and this site has a little path that goes straight down to a pond that a beaver has been working hard on. All in all, it’s a peaceful place to rest and we would come again, just not with all of our kids 😂.

Linda was very responsive and accommodating. We loved the peaceful setting - the goldenrod fields were beautiful, some wild blueberries growing nearby, and the fresh eggs were delicious!

Tent sites are well spaced, and the Graham Cracker Cabin is in the center of it all. Paths in the field are well mowed and the cabin was clean and open when I arrived. The cabin does get quite warm during the day so leaving the doors open was a big help to get a breeze going through. At night there was enough of a cross breeze down in the main room to make sleeping comfortable. The loft was too warm for sleeping in August. Mornings were lovely and quiet, and I snuck a small bowl of blueberries from the low bushes along the path to go with breakfast. Overall a lovely location that gets quiet at night so you can hear the chorus of frogs in the brook.

This campsite was amazing and would highly recommend staying! I booked the Angler's Delight campsite for a week long camping/hiking trip with a bunch of first time campers. The campsite could not have been better suited for such a trip. The campsite was nestled inside a small tree grove inbetween a field of wildflowers and a beautiful brook. At night, the field and brook filled up with fireflies. There were 7 of us in our group, and we were worried that the space would be too cramped for all of us for the entire week. However, the campsite had enough space for us to pitch a 6 person, 4 person, and 2 one person tents, so we were able to spread out a bit at night. We were likewise free to wade through the brook and walk around the property—so our group had plenty of room to spread out on days when we wanted a bit of privacy. The location was perfectly inbetween our two primary destinations: about a 45 min drive to Acadia and a 2hr drive to Baxter State Park. There is a town in etween the campsite and Acadia NP, so getting cooking provisions daily was very straightforward. The hosts themselves reply very quickly and were incredibly nice and helpful. The porta potty ran out of toilet paper one morning and they restocked it almost immediately. They likewise cleared a small space in the middle of the flower field for us to set up our telescope and star gaze. The hosts could not have been more attentive.

Great location! Close to town if you need supplies. Also only 45 minutes to Acadia National Park. All amenities were as advertised. Host was very communicative. Yurt was comfy and is pet friendly. They have a wagon you can pull to bring stuff from your car to your site. My wife and I would happily stay here again. Thank you!!

4th of July Weekend in the Woods

Linda is an attentive host. She greated us when we arrived, gave us a run down of the property amenties, where the cabin was, and provided a cart for us to lug our baggage to and from the cabin! The lack of road noise, and minimal exposure to firework booms was perfect this weekend. Exactly what I was hoping for with an out of the way stay! With such a rustic design, it gets pretty warm during the day inside, so spending time in the shade, by the brook, or at a near by lake is recommened during the hot hours by my partner and I. However, there are plenty of windows and a good draft through the doors to cool it off before the night! There also was quite a few cracks and crannies for varuious bugs and wasps to can make their way in to the living space, but there are precautionary measures provided, and im positive Linda would have assisted if we felt unsafe! Thank you for a weekend away from the city!

This rustic camp was exactly what we wanted: great site next to a beautiful brook, lots of space between the other sites, large, clean tent with two air beds! There was also a picnic table, outdoor chairs, and a fire pit with cooking grate. We were about a half hour from Acadia, and explored lots of fun local places along the road to the coast. I would definitely recommend this site. (Be sure to read the specifics on the site, Linda gives an accurate description of services available, etc.)

This site was so refreshing ! Even with a day of rain the bell tent stayed dry! Cozy beds and bedding when we showed up ! The brook was beautiful and my daughter had a blast fishing. Happy we brought a wagon to get our things to the tent (although there was a wagon available but others already had it). The bathroom was a bit of a walk at night but it was well worth the peace and quiet for a few nights !

This tent camp set-up is great. Highly recommend. Comfortable beds and setup in the tent, lighting and water and some fire wood was supplied to go along with 2 great fire pit options at our (Belle Brook) site. Porta potty on site. We spent 3 nights and the location is excellent for accessing Acadia, Schoodic, the town of Ellsworth and many other gems of this part of the ME coast. Many thanks to the host!

I loved this spot! It was a short walk from the parking area, through the edge of a field, over a small bridge across a little creek, to the tent site next to a larger stream. There was a fire pit, chairs, and picnic table at the camp site, and of course the bell tent! Linda is a wonderful host and provided supplies like a lamp, fire starting fluid, and a jug of water at the site. The bell tent is furnished and Linda gave me extra blankets and sheets for the mattress, and gave me a head lamp when she noticed I did not have a flashlight on me. Absolutely would recommend! It rained a lot overnight while I was there. The tent was fine throughout the night! The parking area did have a large puddle in the morning, but the ground is solid so there was no mud.

I had an amazing two-night stay at this charming, storybook cabin. It's just as described—peaceful, surrounded by beautiful trees and a rushing brook, and perfectly located near Acadia National Park. The short walk through the field added to the charm, and the rustic, off-grid experience with no electricity or plumbing made it a perfect nature retreat. Linda and her husband are wonderful attentive hosts. Thinking of the little things to keep your stay as relaxing as possible. Slight issue with wasps sneaking in through cracks looking to winter from cooler season coming. They took care of them right away. Beautifully clean linens and extra blankets were great for the quick drop of temperatures at night. Other campsites through the woods but the cabin feels very private in the beautiful field of wildflowers. 40 minutes to Acadia and bar harbor which was breathtaking. Beautiful location.
