A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is
due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats.
We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like.
Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle.
We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want then this may not be your kind of place.

The land is close to 180 miles of local kayak trails, a 10 minute drive from beautiful walking trails, and about an hour from the beach. We offer a rustic composting toilet, a heated outdoor shower, and a simple outdoor kitchen zone with a sink and stovetop.
Note: Flitterbug Farm is in a rural, agricultural part of South Florida. The setting is peaceful, but it’s also alive with the sounds of farm life and wildlife. Flitterbug Farm is home to a collection of majestic oak trees covered in spanish moss, ferns, and flowering vines. The oak trees loom high over a glittering pond, which is great for swimming during the summer months when the water is high. Tropical fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, and flowers decorate our gardens while chickens and bees wander the land. Expect beautiful stars, local wildlife such as owls and chameleons, an outdoor shower, and a "hippie hot tub" powered by a campfire. Sunsets on Flitterbug Farm are truly epic.
The land is close to 180 miles of local kayak trails, a 10 minute drive from beautiful walking trails, and about an hour from the beach. We offer a rustic composting toilet, a heated outdoor shower, and a simple outdoor kitchen zone with a sink and stovetop.
Note: Flitterbug Farm is in a rural, agricultural part of South Florida. The setting is peaceful, but it’s also alive with the sounds of farm life and wildlife. You may hear roosters, dogs, owls, frogs, and the usual country activity from nearby neighbors. Many guests find the natural soundscape part of the charm, but we want you to know what to expect.

This hit our sweet spot. Site was comfortable, good size and you cannot beat full hook ups. had a nice view of the orange grove which was blooming so a sweet smell. The hosts dogs were great and came for visits and pets. Our first of many stays i expect.

Peace and quiet yet close to everything. J & B were excellent hosts! This was my first hip camp, and I was a mess. Arrived with a flat tire, they offered to help change it.
I was there for the solitude for the first few days, and that was respected. I am a single lady camping, I knew I was safe.
My brothers joined for the weekend and they to had a great time.
I absolutely would like to visit again.

Weekend Trip to Blue Fox Ranch: Lake & Farm Camp
Luiz was an excellent host! We stayed at Site 2 with full RV hookups and had a fantastic experience. The property is beautiful, and the animals around the ranch make it a peaceful and unique getaway. Luiz was very welcoming and great to talk with whenever we saw him around the property. He even took the time to show us different parts of the ranch and other camping spots.
Our group was also hog hunting at Chappy’s Outfitters, only about 3 miles away, which made the location perfect for going back and forth. Both experiences were great. We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back!

We had an amazing stay at Moonrise Palms! The site had everything we needed with water and electric hookups, and the setting was peaceful and beautiful! There is a picnic area with chairs as well. One of the absolute highlights was getting to feed the cows on the property. Such a fun experience for our whole family. They even provided a full barrel of hay for us, which made it extra special!
Melissa and Ryan were incredibly kind, welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. You can really tell they care about their guests having a great experience.
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Moonrise Palms to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing getaway!

The camping sites were fine. The grounds were very clean. The hosts (Christine and Cal) were great! If you needed something or had a question they were always available and responsive. The whole atmosphere of the campground was unbelievable. We will be staying here again next time we're down!
