Wow, what a find so close to Miami centre. I wish we'd stayed longer (arrived evening time and left really early in the morning as had to return RV). John was so friendly. Our little boy absolutely loved the lake, he was out on the canoe within minutes. Directions were spot on. Would definitely recommend.

John's land was amazing! Such a chill spot for some quiet camping near some water, as long as you don't mind chickens and roosters and the occasional cockadoodledoo every so often. Would definitely reccomend coming back here eventually!

This was my second time staying at Honey’s place and i need to emphasize that is an urban oasis. Driving there you go through the hustle and bustle of the city but once you arrive all of that quiets down and time slows down. The grounds are kept impeccably, the grass is green, the trees are lush and the lake is tranquil. Went to clear my mind and celebrate my dog’s birthday and came back refreshed and ready to take on life again. Thank you John for having us and being such a great host, definitely will be coming back again.

My family and I had a fantastic stay at Hagen's place, the sites are well spaced, and there was plenty of area for my kids to play both in the shade of palms and in a big grassy area central to the sites. I hope to come and stay again when I return to the area!

If you are looking to camp and have a good time in the company of nature, this is a good place. We were a group of friends and had a great time. We were even able to use the BBQ. I recommend it.

Excellent location for the Keys, Everglades and Miami! Approaches and local roads are a bit tight if you have a big rig. We tucked right into a grove of royal palms, felt secluded as was cooler. If you’re a birder, there are several eBird hotspots within 30 minute radius.

Weekend Trip to Honeys Place: Urban Camping Oasis

This was an amazing stay. The place is as advertised and as beautiful as the pictures. It's wild opening the gate in a dense neighborhood and seeing a lush garden, free range chickens, a spring fed pond, and nicely built tent pads in a hidden oasis. Although you share the space with John & other campers, there are privacy screens & enough space to make you feel secluded. You might wake up to an airplane or occasional road traffic sounds, but that's the only reminder that you're in the middle of Miami. I would stay here again.

Parking area is 12 foot wide, but has an additional 5 feet of grass on one side if you have a slide-out. Full parking lot behind the property to make it an easy pull-in to our yard from the lot for any size rig. Fence closes behind you to keep you fully enclosed and private. Shared yard space with us in the main house, free use of our beautiful backyard with fairy lights and mango trees. Take as many free mangoes as you like (when they're in season)! Yard is fully fenced in and pet-friendly, but we do have a pet cat on the property and ask that your outdoor pet be monitored when in the yard.
