We offer 2-3 acres of a choose your own spot camping area. Located within the Picayune Strand State Forest, full of peace and quiet, and plenty of birds. We have a facility building that runs off a generator for running water. With that, we have a washroom, that consists of a large shower, and 2 bathroom stalls. we have then propane heated hot water for a nice hot shower. The sites are very " free range". Nothing that is too designated, so you have a free choice of where to pitch your tent, or park your camper van, or your RV.
Come and stay within the Evergaldes in Naples, of SWFL. A special private place like no other. You may have the place all to yourself, or share with others. It is not populated like other campgrounds.
The property is a designated farm, and we do have chickens.

There is even a sugarcane maze and bamboo gardens in progress for the kids and adults to enjoy. But don’t forget your veggies! Get up close and personal with where some of your medicines and vegetables come from. Mandy and Beau were such gracious and welcoming hosts. They ensured that we had everything we needed and were very responsive. The space was clean, stocked with kitchen necessities, and well maintained. The area was stellar as it is a short drive to the beach and has a cute downtown area with plenty of dining options. We stayed in the Hideaway campsite with our 23 foot sprinter van. We loved the privacy and being surrounded by nature. The walk to the bathroom/shower area is very nice. There’s gardens and a Koi pond and a little tiki bar and a cobblestone-like walkway with patios. I would call this a community area. The bathroom was always clean and the outdoor shower although I was hesitant, was actually very nice with plenty of hot water and good flow. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Thank you John and family for an amazing trip! You can see from the property’s attention to detail how much they care to provide an excellent experience! The cabin is stunning! It has everything you need! The beds are super comfortable! The firepit was beautifully set up. The bathroom was clean and the outdoor shower was great! The girls had a great time on the trampoline, swings, and playing with the pups. The sunset boat trip was such a treat! Please just go and experience it for yourself!

We loved our brief stay at the Back 40, on the Myakka River. A few suggestions to future travelers:
1) book it - this is a beautiful property at the end of a long dirt road, nestled into live oaks. Your campsite might be near others, but you can't see them.
2) be sure to ask the host about fossil hunting nearby. The Peace River is close, and the host has ample experience and is happy to share! After we broke camp, we took our two kids (9 & 7) to Arcadia for a few hours of fossil gathering. Super fun!!
3) The sound of gunfire, off in the distance: there's a gun club pretty far away, and as noted in other reviews, you might hear it. It's a light "pop pop pop" and not a "bang bang bang," and no one but me in our campsite knew what they were hearing. Those sounds were oddly starting up at about dark (6:00) and probably quit by 6:45 - was not disturbing.
4) bring kale for the tortoises!

Richard was very nice and helpful! Property was beautiful. I’m sad for the cold spout you guys had although many of your trees took a hit I think they’ll come back!! For us weather was perfect. We enjoyed staying in your food forest and exploring some plants we can’t keep at home. We especially liked how quiet it was and how it was encouraged to keep separated. The shower and common room was a very nice luxury!

The place was very nicely situated, the campsite was spacious, private, with a fire pit, chairs and a picnic table. Even had an electrical cord to charge up my bluetti. With that said, the bathrooms are a bit of a walk thru the darkness , while lit … for this northerner who’s seen many signs about bears, panthers, poisoned snakes and spiders … it was a bit nerve racking for me, but that’s just me perhaps. Overall a pleasant place, where I slept well.

If your looking for the Taj Maha of tent camping in Miami... this is the spot. Honestly; I loved it here... when i left, i waivered staying a few more days.. it was relaxing, it was private for the most part, it was close by to amenities and i enjoyed the backround noise of either the speedway or the jets in the sky. The palm tree corner is most definitely the prettiest spot in the place, but trusting that other hip campers will follow the lead to 5 star each campsite. Its a cool place hot place with shade if you find the right spots. I would camp here again.. and again.. and again.. my dog loved it as well.. straightaway for some good fetch playing.
No bathroom tho.. maybe the owner might bless this beauty camp with a bucket and toilet seat in the future. Only downfall of tenting here.
