We booked the one "partial hookup" site with water and 50/30A. Parking was easy and not more than 100 feet from the river, with a gentle sand slope and easy entry for swimming. We swam in the evening and the morning. The water was cool but not cold. There was a little more than a gentle current, being summer, and being a natural river there were places that were more difficult with branches and steeper banks, but the main swimming spot was really nice. We had the whole property to ourselves. The owner was very responsive by text. T-Mobile connection was strong, even for streaming.

I needed a place close to Mayo Clinic for daily treatments and could not have found a better location. Chrissy was a very accommodating hostess and her yard although on the road felt very private with the landscaping. Very close to all the shopping and restaurants we needed as well as the beautiful Neptune beach. We definitely would stay again.

So quiet and peaceful. We had to be in Jacksonville for multiple meetings and needed to extend our stay twice. Easy booking, fast feedback and privacy. Host was available but not intrusive, he responded quickly when we needed anything. Area was clean, paddleboat available to float around the pond. Conveniently located close enough to town with that out of town feel. We will stay again if we come back to the area.

Perfect location, Mayo Clinic is only 15 minutes away and even closer to the beach. Lots of shopping and restaurants just down the street. The spacious lot is shaded and private despite being close to a fairly busy road at times. Our dog had plenty of room to stretch her legs with the fenced in lot. Chrissy is a very gracious and welcoming host making us feel like part of the family.

1 night at Ry’s Retreat

We stayed at Ry's twice: on our way south and again on our way north. This is a great spot for an overnight when enroute somewhere. Far enough off I-95 to be in a quiet neighborhood, but still convenient. We drove into St. Augustine for dinner (the St. Augustine Fish Camp had great food and service). Ry was available and helpful. The site is his wide driveway, but that was fine. Power and water hookups were good and the site was level and wide enough to accommodate our slides. Easy to back in and pull out.

Kenny’s Vineyard Lake was perfect for our needs! We live in south Florida, and looking for an overnight close to the hwy just to get out of Florida. It was easy to find and access. Everything was as stated and worked perfectly. It is a big flat field so if you need practice backing! This is an opportunity with nothing in your way😉. We hope to stay again in the future.

Weekend Trip to Vineyard Lake Getaway

We enjoyed our weekend stay. We had the site to ourselves and it was very peaceful. The water levels on the pond were very low (by what looks like at least 6 feet) but there was still quite a bit of water. The water lilies were in bloom. I caught a few small bass but surprisingly few panfish (I think they are being out-competed by the bass which are stocked). We saw quite a few birds and there was a pair of geese in the pond with their goslings and a muscovy duck which thought it was part of the family. The utilities were great and very convenient. The site (#2) was quite flat and on typical Florida sand. Site #1 looked pretty rough though and I'm glad we opted for #2. It rained pretty hard one evening but it drained very well. One note: the owner has dogs which stay on their side of a line of cones and asks that you do not take your dogs over the line (which is entirely reasonable and easily respected; there is a lot of room). However, you cannot leave the property on a dog walk without crossing the line. We loaded our dogs into the truck and went to a nearby trail head for walking.

My family had such a great time camping here! The kids enjoyed riding on the jon boat and pedal boat, jumping off the dock and swinging on the tree swing. A fun added bonus was seeing the cows and horses just over the fence.

We had a great stay. This hipcamp feels like it’s deep in the middle of the country, but was only 20-30 minutes outside of Jacksonville. Kenny was sure to greet us and make sure we didn’t need anything. The kids loved playing in the lake, paddling around and fishing. There is a cow pasture on the other side of the field, and there were two adorable baby cows that the kids could watch through the fence. Kenny’s dogs were super sweet and loved the kids, but you’ll want to keep your own dogs away from them (which he asked us to do upon arrival) and site 1 backs up right to the dog’s border. Site two has more of a buffer between the campsite and this area.

We had a beautiful weekend at Holly’s place. The kayaking was wonderful and we spent a day paddling up to Deep Creek. We also spent a day in St Augustine which was only a 30 min drive. Great wildlife viewing and very peaceful. We highly recommend this campsite.

We enjoyed our stay at Anthony’s. He is a most gracious host. Parking was spacious and level, and our doodle very much enjoyed the secluded, fully fenced property and grassy play area. Very dog friendly! We found it easy to navigate into old town Saint Augustine. If our travel plans, bring us back to Saint Augustine, we will most certainly stay here again!
