This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there.
Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch.
Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees.
Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando.
A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing!

Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants.
This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers.
From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting.
We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

5645 Bay Boulevard is 2 blocks off US 19 in Port Richey Florida. The property is 1 mile east of the Gulf Of Mexico. There are 5 restaurants on the water that are a short ride bicycle, golf cart or 1 wheel ride away. One is a Hooters. Within 2 blocks is a Dunkin Donuts, Culvers and Hardees. Walmart is accessible without driving on 19. If you need fuel there is a WaWa and Walmart station. The Veteran's Expressway is a short drive east which makes a drive to the Tampa Fairgrounds less than 1 hour. We have a 50 amp covered full hook up spot, a 50 amp with water spot and 6 plus boondocking spots. We have a place to dump and refill the water tank. We aren't fancy, just very convenient.

Tucked along a narrow road, this popular site offers users direct access to the crystal clear waters of the south-east fork of the Homosassa River. Use our kayaks or bring your own to explore one of Florida’s Outstanding Waterways where you may meet a manatee, observe otters, find fish, or watch wildlife of all kinds. The site has direct access to Pepper Creek Trail, a 0.75-mile paved trail that is part of the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. While you’re there, swing into the state park to view the sparkling waters of the Homosassa head spring and meet all of the native wildlife ambassadors, including Florida panthers, black bears, endangered whooping cranes, and many other amazing animals. Interested in charter fishing, scalloping, or an ecotour? Your hosts are both professional, experienced charter captains. Avoid the crowds at the dock and step right onto the boat here! Ask for availability prior to your stay.
The site is private and away from the hosts home, approximately 75-yards from the river, with electricity and water provided. There is no sewer hookup; restrooms and shower facilities are not available. If your rig does not have a toilet, please bring your own method to contain and dispose of solid toilet wastes.

You can also take an OGFit class while you are here: 10 minutes of world class Calisthenics. Breathe control and guided meditations also available.
We have water available and an outdoor shower. We have plenty of room yet no electrical hookups and usually do not have very large rvs.
Campfires (burn wood only- no plastic) and music with respect to being a bit more quiet when its dark.
Please keep dogs on a lease and clean up after them.

Homosassa is an old Florida fishing town that is a hidden gem along the gulf coast, this site is nestled quietly at the head of the river on our shared residential property. This location is close to the head springs and Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park where you can discover the wild side of Florida with endangered Florida panther, red wolf, manatee and whooping crane, plus black bear, bobcat and, of course, alligator.
The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. This is a residential area and is very quiet. You can see the layout of the property in the photos from an aerial view as well as other photos of the setup.
This listing is for the SITE ONLY. Setup your own RV under the shade then enjoy our shared dock with direct access into the Homosassa springs for a refreshing dip or paddle. We provide full hookups (water, sewer, 50amp electric) for your RV as well as WIFI service and access to the docks for your boat or swimming. We have kayaks and paddleboards INCLUDED with our site or bring your own to paddle the springs and take a chance at seeing a manatee up close and personal or catching some fish. Second time staying here.
I had plans to stay at another state campsite, but three gate code was not working. Luckily, on a moment notice, Smokey Acres was available.
The campsite was clean, quiet, beautiful. Bathroom facilities were decent. Site was level. Slight noise from traffic. No complaints. Its an easy weekend get away.
My wife was able to set up her telescope for some night photography and I got plenty of reading time.
I'm pretty sure a 3rd stay will happen in the next few months.

Spent my New Years at Smokey Acres and it will now be a tradition for me. I had a blast! Such a beautiful and peaceful setting next to the pond. I will definitely book another stay at this site in the near future. I can’t say enough of how much I truly enjoy my time at this campground. We enjoyed the beauty and peace and spaciousness of the sites. The bathroom/shower were a bit more of an adventure than we were expecting. Bring your own toilet paper and beware that flushing the toilet will shut off the shower! Otherwise we enjoyed this unique place!

This place is special. We’ve been twice & can’t wait to go back. With our 6 & 7 year old sons, it’s great to get out of the city and really feel like you’re in the country. With all the animals walking throughout the day, (especially morning, horses) it really makes the area feel magical. Great bathrooms with hot showers is a plus! Can’t say more about this place, words can’t describe it!

We had an amazing weekend. My kids love the horses and donkeys walking around the campsite and it’s fun meeting and seeing all the farm animals on the ranch tour. We enjoyed learning about all the animals. :) Mike and Rob are awesome hosts and go above and beyond. Very peaceful camping atmosphere, we will be back again

Rob and Mike have created a wonderful life and ahare it openly with thoses of us who are blessed to find this place. This is an oasis in the midst of sprawling county growing city. Take a break and capture this beautiful property where trees and river meet lush private camp sites. And the bathroom with shower is a great addition. Beautiful wooden walkways to the river with grand pavilion's and places to sit and relax. The owners are onsite and accommodation. Very clean. Not a single bug or ant (December but still… Florida) and close to many places to visit or eat. Highly Recommend!

My husband and I stayed in David's cabin for several nights & we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was cozy, but spacious enough for the two of us. It was very comfortably heated, which was great when the weather got down to the 30's overnight. The water was hot, perfect for the shower & washing dishes. But the thing that made this place special was being near the water & watching the many birds. We saw sandhill cranes, ibis, coots, ahinoules, & galinules here. We would definitely recommend David's place!

Another great camping trip with my granddaughter Miya.! We have been here many times this year already! This is Miya's favorite place to camp and she really doesn't want to go anywhere else. She just loves the horses and other farm animals! .Rob and Mike are the best hosts and are so accommodating. They work hard every day on keeping the property so nice and clean and the guests comfortable. They really do go above and beyond! We really loved all the Christmas lights and decorations they put up. We hope to be back very soon! This is a great camping experience for anyone at any age and I would highly recommend it.
