Manatee Delight RV Camp Site
My husband, 2y/o son and our s dog absolutely loved tent camping on Sarah’s land. The old Florida wilderness right at our fingertips was exactly what we needed to escape the city for a couple nights. The swimming hole was like from a fairy tale, stunning and serene.
We are already talking about when we can come back ! Thank you again for hosting us.

My partner and i had such a wonderful time at Kate’s property! We saw so many adorable manatees! We loved being able to use her kayaks and take them out on the crystal clear canals and rivers. The campsite itself is private but well lit at night, and we loved the jungle-like setting. We felt like we were in a different country! It was so beautiful. Kate was very responsive every time we messaged her and was very kind. The camp seems very secluded but once you’re out on the river there are lots of boats, families, and wildlife. I highly recommend manatee delight for nature lovers!

We had a wonderful stay at Manatee Delight! Such a nice private spot in paradise. We had a nice time in the spring just across from the campsite and the hosts were sweet as can be. Thank you for a lovely experience!

As I pulled off the main road down a beautiful wandering path, I was very excited about the prospect of camping for the next four days. That changed as I backed into the site. I found myself backed up to a work shed with work materials along both sides. There were 4 inch PVC pipes and other work materials scattered around. I looked for the hiking path, but when I found it was impassible with tennis shoes, I needed hiking boots. The fire circle was unkept with leaves and fallen trees all throughout. At this point I was very uncomfortable and did not feel safe. I did however try to access the across the road entrance to the river and springs, but observing a large white rooster, I decided not to try at this point. I personally own a rooster that is aggressive, and did not want to chance it. I left the site and did not stay. I did contact Kate and she asked what she could do to make me feel comfortable. At this point I took it for a lost and the ruining of my spring break. I am a site camper, I enjoy first my surroundings and then the amenities. This just did not work for me.

Nice quiet campsite. Firewood for sale at the campsite was handy. Beautiful place to kayak and kayaks were there for us to use. Easy to get into site with our class B motorhome. Kate was a great host.

It was a very quiet property. Beautiful & lush foliage. Unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there.....so we didn't see the dock. Yes, we would stay again. Close to anything you would need. Yet it is a very private. We enjoyed our stay. Thank-you for sharing your property!

Super cool site with a tropical setting. Perfect spot for truck camper or van. Easy access, but very private once on site. Electric and water are conveniently located. It was a little chilly when we were there, but the river access was very picturesque. Good communication with the host as well.

Hands down the best Hipcamp we’ve ever stayed at! We loved the privacy and the Pepper Creek connector trail. The campsite was clean and the surrounding woods were beautiful and peaceful. We loved exploring the entire area including several state parks that were all within a 40-minute drive. We enjoyed kayaking a couple of days and even saw a manatee! In the evening, we had campfires and listened to the owls. Kate and Rick were fantastic hosts and were beyond helpful and friendly. Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!

Great camping spot, very quiet and private, and with close access to a channel in Homosassa Springs. We swam and paddled in the clear water and saw several manatees. The party lights at the camp and supply of firewood were a bonus. Kate is a super host, very friendly and helpful, and responds very quickly.

Kate has a beautiful piece of land right on the water in Homosassa. There is a nice and private space to park your car/RV and it feels like you are surrounded by nature. You also have access to a beautiful crystal clear waterway to take out the kayaks. If you are a sensitive sleeper be aware that there are roosters on the property. Beyond that we very much enjoyed each aspect of the the space.

Manatee's Delight is a rare treat; We stayed here for four nights in mid-January in a 10-ft Happier Camper trailer and is the best Hipcamp site we've ever stayed at.
Here's why:
1. convenient location: near the Gulf and several spring-fed rivers we like to paddle; lots of nearby trails; short drive to stores and restaurants; only an hour from Tampa.
2. natural setting: it's beautiful, isolated and quiet: there's only one space here; so we felt like we were alone in the middle of a jungle.
3. great setup: large, level, clean, dry pad of small gravel to park our trailer and vehicle, with electric and water hookups, 50A adaptor, switched perimeter lighting, trash bin & bags, and a great fire pit area with a stack of firewood. Paid what we thought was fair via Venmo. The firewood was a major plus; it got pretty cold at night while we were there and we enjoyed sitting around a campfire in the evening without the hassle of finding or buying firewood.
While this campsite was just about perfect for our style of camping, the hosts are what really make it the best campsite we’ve found on Hipcamp. They were friendly, responsive, helpful, and clearly cared about us having a good stay. Because of them, we had a GREAT stay, and look forward to coming back on future trips.

Our stay at Kate’s ‘Manatee Delight’ was perfect. We loved how private the camp site was and yet so close to river access and a trail to the State Park. We can’t wait to return!

Book it! Captain Kate is a beloved community member and I could have been happier at her place! Great site and short walk across to her driveway and launch behind the house. Beautiful setting. Perfect location. Paddle in less than 5 minutes to the Homasassa Wildllife Park, where the manatee sleep at night!

This was our second trip to Manatee Delight and it won’t be our last. I think this will become an annual thing for us. We really love the layout of the campsite and how much room we have. It’s so private. I feel like I’m in a tropical oasis. The springs behind Kate’s house are stunning. We love to get out on the water and really appreciate the use of her kayaks because it saves us space from having to pack ours and money! I have nothing bad to say about the site Kate, or the experience as a whole. This *is* a hidden gem.

Great First RV Camping Trip

This camping trip was our first trip with out RV and it was perfect. Kate was super helpful and provided us with items that were needed while we learned how to use the RV. The location was even more perfect. We used the kayaks that were provided to us and paddled to eat lunch at the Margarita Grill. We also fished during our trip and took the dogs on morning walks down the trail off of the camp site. At night we took a ride on the bikes to view the Xmas lights along the trail. One minute away you have any store that is needed as well.

The site is as described in the listing, unfortunately I decided to not stay here upon arrival. A big selling point for me was the kayaking location with a chance to see manatees, but unfortunately when I arrived the water was full of a few very loud boats and people partying. And if you’re not familiar with the Florida heat and humidity, camping here with no facilities is going to be a struggle.
