Feel free to reserve your own firewood. $10 *PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING* I want to be transparent with you guys on the property and size of the camper! -The camper is very small only 21ft. The average height clearance is 6'2" so if you are tall this may not be for you. (I'm 5'9" and its comfortable for me) -If you are a bigger person this may feel too tight for you especially in the bathroom area -The bed is a full size some couples may feel that this is to small for them. -A hot shower will last about 15 minutes once it is heated up. -In the summertime there is bugs some may get into the camper. We do treat the area with safe bug spray but it may not fully prevent them. -There are two other tiny houses and a main house on the property. They are far apart but the main house is close. We have a privacy fence that fully blocks the house. So you are still very private but you are not fully secluded. -In case of fire There is a fire blanket, fire extinguisher, and a smoke/carbon monoxide detector inside the camper. The bedroom door is only to be used as an emergency fire exit. (Door is locked from the outside but unlocked from the inside) There is also a water cannon outside for outdoor fires. Please be responsible with all fires! -If you want to cancel you must cancel within 24 hours of booking then I will issue a full refund. Two hours from NYC, close to skiing (hunter mountain/ Windham , Kaaterskill falls, Woodstock, Hudson, Saugerties. FAQ Is my rental secluded? Our property is 8 acres, exactly the same as seven football fields. From your private deck and the big window, you will not see any other houses as far as eyes can see. We added fence panels to make it even more private. We have attached a satellite picture of the property to give you a better idea. As required by zoning law, there is a larger cabin on the property. But it is far enough and visually isolated enough that you won't feel it's presence (at least from the feedback we got from other guests.) We are located in a rural hamlet and a mile down the road there is a tiny town with two cafes , two bars and two restaurants. But your place is one New York block distance away from the street towards tree filled uninhabited area, adding to the sense of seclusion. I have never been in a tiny house, what can I expect? The "tiny house nation" style tiny houses are around 144 to 250 sqft, ours is 144 sqft. So,we are on the "smaller" side. Our guests have commented that its actually does not feel cramped. You will have heating, AC, hot shower, flushing toilet, kitchenette for basic cooking, small fridge, queen bed etc. You also have a private deck and a private outdoor fireplace to make S'mores and to grill. Are pets allowed? We just require that they should never be left alone and peace pick up after them. Our cleaning company charges a pet fee. If you forgot to pay it or decided to bring a pet last minute, please leave the amount as a tip to the cleaners. That way the cleaners get to keep the money and then they won't report the pet to the cleaning company. This also saves us the hassle of going back and forth with the cleaning company, reviewing the camera footage and ultimately paying it out of our own pockets. Also, please keep in mind that the house is really small at 144 sqft which may be too cramped for some large dogs. I work from home, how is the WiFi? We have had multiple guests who worked from home during the pandemic. Our provider is spectrum (the monopoly in the area). Luckily, outages are very rare and get fixed promptly (you may have to restart the router). Speed is always good for multiple simultaneous video calls and movie streaming. Do you provide firewood? Not yet! You do not need firewood to heat the house. If you want to use the outdoor fireplace, look for 'Campwood' signs and buy from our neighbors.(Also @ Walmart, Stewart gas stations etc.) What about Towels-Soap-Linens-Hot water? Is there heating/cooling? Can we cook? Yes! Yes! Yes! and Yes!. Think of all the amenities a hotel provides plus a tiny kitchen. Hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle, drip coffee, plates, cutlery - we have all that we could cram into the tiny space. Our guests use the outdoor fireplace for BBQ and smores! Can I check in early? or Check out late? No and Yes. Due to the super strict covid19 cleaning process, we can no longer offer early check in. However, we can offer late checkout up to an hour. Please inform us in advance so that the cleaning crew can adjust accordingly.

Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. The average height clearance is 6'2" so if you are tall this may not be for you. (I'm 5'9" and its comfortable for me) -If you are a bigger person this may feel too tight for you especially in the bathroom area -The bed is a full size some couples may feel that this is to small for them. -A hot shower will last about 15 minutes once it is heated up. -In the summertime there is bugs some may get into the camper. We do treat the area with safe bug spray but it may not fully prevent them. -There are two other tiny houses and a main house on the property. They are far apart but the main house is close. We have a privacy fence that fully blocks the house. So you are still very private but you are not fully secluded. -In case of fire There is a fire blanket, fire extinguisher, and a smoke/carbon monoxide detector inside the camper. The bedroom door is only to be used as an emergency fire exit. (Door is locked from the outside but unlocked from the inside) There is also a water cannon outside for outdoor fires. Please be responsible with all fires! -If you want to cancel you must cancel within 24 hours of booking then I will issue a full refund. Our property is 8 acres, exactly the same as seven football fields. From your private deck and the big window, you will not see any other houses as far as eyes can see. We added fence panels to make it even more private. We have attached a satellite picture of the property to give you a better idea. As required by zoning law, there is a larger cabin on the property. But it is far enough and visually isolated enough that you won't feel it's presence (at least from the feedback we got from other guests.) We are located in a rural hamlet and a mile down the road there is a tiny town with two cafes , two bars and two restaurants. But your place is one New York block distance away from the street towards tree filled uninhabited area, adding to the sense of seclusion. I have never been in a tiny house, what can I expect? The "tiny house nation" style tiny houses are around 144 to 250 sqft, ours is 144 sqft. So,we are on the "smaller" side. Our guests have commented that its actually does not feel cramped. You will have heating, AC, hot shower, flushing toilet, kitchenette for basic cooking, small fridge, queen bed etc. You also have a private deck and a private outdoor fireplace to make S'mores and to grill. Are pets allowed? We just require that they should never be left alone and peace pick up after them. Our cleaning company charges a pet fee. If you forgot to pay it or decided to bring a pet last minute, please leave the amount as a tip to the cleaners. That way the cleaners get to keep the money and then they won't report the pet to the cleaning company. This also saves us the hassle of going back and forth with the cleaning company, reviewing the camera footage and ultimately paying it out of our own pockets. Also, please keep in mind that the house is really small at 144 sqft which may be too cramped for some large dogs. I work from home, how is the WiFi? We have had multiple guests who worked from home during the pandemic. Our provider is spectrum (the monopoly in the area). Luckily, outages are very rare and get fixed promptly (you may have to restart the router). Speed is always good for multiple simultaneous video calls and movie streaming. Do you provide firewood? Not yet! You do not need firewood to heat the house. If you want to use the outdoor fireplace, look for 'Campwood' signs and buy from our neighbors.(Also @ Walmart, Stewart gas stations etc.) What about Towels-Soap-Linens-Hot water? Is there heating/cooling? Can we cook? Yes! Yes! Yes! and Yes!. Think of all the amenities a hotel provides plus a tiny kitchen. Hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle, drip coffee, plates, cutlery - we have all that we could cram into the tiny space. Our guests use the outdoor fireplace for BBQ and smores! Can I check in early? or Check out late? No and Yes. Due to the super strict covid19 cleaning process, we can no longer offer early check in. However, we can offer late checkout up to an hour. Please inform us in advance so that the cleaning crew can adjust accordingly.

We had a cozy stay at the Just Be cabin. We arrived after dark and the trail to the cabin was well lit and easy to find. Stacey took the time to build a fire in the woodstove before we arrived so the cabin was very warm, and it was easy to keep warm throughout the evening. For a small cabin it felt very spacious. Really appreciated getting to stay at this sweet retreat!

Evan & Laura have an amazing set up. They had great communication during our stay and in the week leading up. They checked in to see if we needed anything prior, including the propane heater, which in 30-something degree weather was an essential and extremely helpful. The site truly had anything you could ever need. We were extremely impressed and surprised by the outhouse with toilet, shower, and usb-c chargers(!) inside. Reading reviews beforehand were helpful and led us to pack lighter, given the steep climb up. But the climb was definitely worth it. We also loved how Evan showed us how the goats and chickens were fed. My pup definitely loved running up and down the hill to the site and marveled (sometimes a little too much lol) at the goats and chickens she was seeing for the first time! Evan was both kind and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect for a weekend escape from the city. The cabin was spacious and spotless, and the restroom was well-maintained. No service, water, or electricity, but firewood was ready for us, and the nights under the stars were amazing. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with, and check-in/check-out were very flexible and smooth. It felt a little pricey for a basic setup, but we still really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking to disconnect and recharge in nature.

This site was perfect for us! We came with our dogs and they loved running around on the trails and in the fields - the site had a picnic table and cooking area, and we grabbed firewood, eggs, maple syrup and a few other goodies from the farm stand on the way in. David and his family were amazing hosts, checking in periodically to see if we needed anything to make our stay even more comfortable. We took advantage of the permanent tent at the site and our own tents, both were super fun - we will most definitely be back again, thank you David and family!

I come here every year with my son, it’s become a tradition for us. Stephen, the host, is always a pleasure, communicative, kind, and genuinely cares about the experience. The inside of the tent is well maintained, and the stream that runs right in front adds such a magical touch. Surrounded by the Indian Head Wilderness peaks, you'll enjoy the cool mountain air at night and stunning views all day long. Hike the trails and then dip in the creek when you get back. This campsite is equipped with a single Queen-sized cot with air mattress, woodstove, portable camp toilet, solar heated sun shower. Bring your own bedding/sleeping bags. Drive-up access requires SUV-type clearance for the creek crossings. For easier 2 wheel access check out my other 5-star secluded campsite- Schoharie Creekside Tent. Only a quick drive to Tannersville, Hunter, Windham, Palenville, Woodstock, Phoenicia, Catskill and Saugerties where you can explore the cute town, restaurants, and shops. The site is perched on the banks of the Roaring Kill Stream, perfect for swimming and fishing. There are also lots of flat areas to put additional tents. Great access to the Roaring Kill Trailhead and to the Devil's Path Hiking Trail. If you're looking for some water activities take a short drive to Colgate Lake. Site guidelines Do be careful driving on the dirt jeep track out to the camp. Don't miss swimming in the Roaring Kill Falls. Do leave the campsite just as you found it. "Don't feed the bears." Seriously, do keep a very clean camp. Do ask questions about local activities- swimming holes, hiking, etc. Please take all trash with you, leave no trace!

This 17-acre site has diverse habitats, from an upland pine and hardwood forest to wild native meadows full of blueberries, asters and milkweed. The most special feature is a large tributary and creek waterway system with areas of wetland. Once choked with invasive plants, it is now a largely restored native plant and wildlife habitat that supports migrating herons, trout, amphibians and clouds of Monarch and other butterflies. In the fall I've seen Monarchs circle up in vortexes from the meadows and take off on their migration. There are several large swimming holes where the creek turns or joins with its tributary. Bridges have been installed over the tributary and over brooklets feeding into it. A lot of care and love is going into this land. Over 500 native trees planted along the creek banks are growing into a forest - you'll see many still in protective tubes and cages. Thousands of native pollinator ground-plants have been planted or sprung up on their own, some like tiny flowering gems on the shady forest floors. The old stone walls running through the property and around its boundaries speak to its history as a farm and an apple orchard. Swimming, hiking, fishing and bird-and-wildlife watching will fascinate you in this dynamic landscape that is constantly coming closer to what used to exist hundreds of years ago and is now reestablishing itself. In the vicinity, there's Tetta's, a deli/cafe/gas station and small emporium with made-to-order pizza, local raw honey, mushroom, crafts, and all kinds of food, pretty much everything you need; it's been in the family for generations. Find it Northeast on Samsonville Road (County Rt. 3) at the junctions of Rts. 2 & 3. There's a hike to a waterfall if you drive a few miles down Upper Cherrytown Road from the end of Sundown Road: you'll see a parking lot with signs for the falls; the DEC-maintained trail is across the road (https://www.catskillmountaineer.com/SD-vernooy-falls-east.html). There's venues nearby along Rt. 209 with local musicians on Saturday nights: places like The Outpost Barbeque, 6611 Rt. 209 in Kerhonkson, Lydia's Cafe at 7 Old US Hwy 209, Stone Ridge. Near Lydia's is a favorite afternoon hang-out, Cherries Roadside and General, which not only has literally hundreds of ice cream flavors, but an excellent, informal restaurant. Privacy is key. Our rescue doggy Roxxie will undoubtedly stop over for a visit as our residence is about a hundred yards away nearby undetectable. You’ll hear some echos from traffic off the TSP but it sounds like wind or running water since there’s no commercial traffic allowed on that road.

We have been the caretakers of this land and cabin since 2015, when we bought it from the builder of the modest cabin on-site, Steve. It is our family camp, but we love to share it with friends and fellow nature-loving campers. The land is partially wooded, and partially 'old field' that is slowly re-foresting through natural succession with some intentional interruption in order to introduce edible native trees and shrubs that are not naturally present. In this way the land is a slowly developing food forest and also a nursery for its plant-loving stewards. Learn more about this land: Escape the city and find yourself in this off-grid hillside cabin with a deck overlooking the Taconic mountain range.   Wander through field and forest, and cool off in the nearby stream.    The cabin has two rooms, and there is a kids playground and tire swing making this an appropriate family camping getaway.    There is a solar panel providing indoor lights and phone charging capabilities, a fire pit with a grill, and a simple array of pots, dishes, and utensils.  There is a spring-fed 55 gallon reservoir of potable water that will slowly refill as well. Though not far off the road, there is very little car traffic, and the surroundings are very peaceful.  The din of the running stream is a constant, while the sounds of coyotes and owls can be heard at night.  As the name indicates, the east-facing hillside is often witness to incredible moonrises, and the stars are always bright.  Nearby Attractions: The Beer Diviner small-scale brewery and taproom is a stone's throw away from the parking area with a selection of tasty beer and some food options available.  In addition to regular hours, there are special summer events, and live music every Saturday night. Cherry Plain State Park is a 'less-traveled' state park and campground just 3.5 miles up the road, offering lake swimming, boating, hiking and mountain bike trails. Other nearby outdoor attractions include:  Williamstown MA, The Taconic Crest Trail, Jiminy Peak Resort, Hancock Shaker Village, and Mt. Greylock.
