Only 10 minutes from Cherry Plain State Park, Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm/ Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC is a 150 acre hidden destination for outdoor adventurers, families and solo campers. We are a safe place for women who are traveling alone. We ensure everyone's quiet experience by not publishing our actual address. Please note: We ask for photo ID. Once we receive your photo ID via text we will provide exact directions to our property. Please plan to check in no later than 4:30pm as we are not available for later check ins unless we agree to meet you. It is dark at 5pm so early check in is critical. We host NYS Police along with local police/sheriff deputies here through our organization Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC. Don't be surprised if you see a NYS trooper or police unit parked up in the field near the horses. Fires: We allow small fires in specific spots, namely the fire ring at Camping on Blueberry Hill, at Ft Sky and inside the Tipi. Campsite fires are allowed weather permitting, when it's not windy and must be kept small. If it's windy then you can still have a fire in the tipi. No large fires or bonfires. All fires must be completely out unless you are physically with your fire. We supply 5 gallons of water and more is available to drink, wash dishes and put your fire out. Please respect our rules. Fire safety is necessary to keep everything safe here for all of us. Thank you for understanding. Here in the mountains we can experience very cold nights. We supply a small pile of firewood for a small fire at no charge. If you like, you can gather more dead wood (not live trees) in our forests. Winter is coming soon. Please bring lots of clothes and layers. Stay warm! Smoking: We are primarily a non-smoking/vaping farm and appreciate you smoking/vaping in your vehicle not on our premises please. Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm is adjacent to miles of public forest. Peace and solace can be found in these quiet mountains. In addition to amazing hiking, backpacking mountain biking, road biking right from your Hipcamp site, with kayaking nearby. We are 10 minutes away from Cherry Plain State Park (which has a gorgeous lake and kid-friendly sandy beach), and even closer to the Taconic Crest Trail. Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Come share our paradise, bring your outdoor adventurer gear (you will be glad you did) and we will share our favorite local destinations with you. We ask that all hipcampers who are primary guests be 21 years of age or over. Children are welcome but we will not knowingly rent to anyone under 21 years of age. There is a $50 additional charge for garbage left at our farm including cigarette butts (we are a no smoking farm!), broken glass, bottles, cans, plastics, containers, bags and other trash. Elon's place is a great glamping location! We loved it from the minute we got there. Elon and Stefan were great hosts, very responsive and solved any requests right away. Even though the site is located in the same property as the host's house, the location of the site is very very far away from the house, tucked away inside the valley and forest, to the point you won't even notice. The site it's outstanding and very romantic for sure! The hot water tank was a plus! We had no issues or complains, and will definitely be returning again.

Jules and Jerome met us at the tipi with their dogs and we immediately knew it would be a wonderful stay. The tipi itself was beautiful, with plenty of firewood for the woodstove, and the surrounding farmland was stunning, along with the goats, horses, and dogs. The outhouse nearby was lovely as well. Beautiful fields and forest trails on their land too. Highly recommend staying there!

We go glamping every year and this was one of our favorites! This space is completely private. Everything was provided for you and we enjoyed going down to the creek! We had our pup and visited Arrowhead Brewery (dogs allowed inside and they gave him treats) Ollie’s Pizza, and also Inness for dinner and he was loved there as well on the outside deck that had an amazing view! Communication with hosts was great as well. Couldn’t recommend a better spot! Went to Minnewaska State Park and also Vernooy Kill Falls to hike, the waterfalls at Vernooy are definitely a must to take a swim in!

Such a nice spot, I was amazed by everything around the camp also the camp itself, the owner is very kind answer very fast so any question you can just send a message straight to her, awesome hot outdoor shower and the tent is in a awesome spot you have a good view of the main house but you can keep your privacy, have some stores around or in cities nearby to get some food and there is swimming spots everywhere around, my favorite was the Ashfield lake. Such a pleasure to stay on this blessed camp!

Absolutely perfect! 100% recommend. So thoughtfully laid out. The string lights were so helpful at night and the solo stove made it very easy to cook. Very comfy bed too. It’s clear the owners really invested in this very thoughtfully. But really it’s the location that makes this place so excellent. The sound of the babbling stream and the beautiful views made for a really idyllic place. Will definitely come back!

Julie and Jeromey were wonderful hosts. They explained everything we needed to know in the beginning. The tipi was cozy with the firepit inside to clear the bugs away. Many extra blankets to keep us warm as well! There is a hiking trail right behind the tipi, making a evening walk to watch the sunset an easy trip. The views of the hills and valleys were wonderful, along with the goats and horses.

Weekend Trip to Private Catskill Glamping Retreat

This site strikes the perfect balance between elevated glamping and back-to-basics camping. Every box was checked: a stunning creekside view, large tent perched on a raised wooden deck, and a seriously comfy bed with all the bedding essentials. The fire pit made for cozy evenings, and the onsite bathroom and lighting were huge bonuses. There’s even a shower — just enough to rinse off the trail dust from hiking Minnewaska State Park. Water is thoughtfully provided, which reminded us to be intentional and respectful about usage. One small challenge: washing cookware without a full kitchen setup. Next time, we’ll bring paper plates for easier clean-up. And of course, bug spray is a must — it's the woods, after all! We’d absolutely recommend this site. It offers a chance to reconnect with nature while still enjoying some of life’s comforts.

The teepee was roomy, had 2 large fire pits, 5 gallons of water and plenty of firewood. Also, the animals on the farm were very sweet. I enjoyed the quietness of the location and the friendliness of the hosts. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away for a night under the stars!
