The communal food prep area has a gas grill, a table for food prep, and a seating area. We request that guests pack out all trash. Since we do not provide stoves, pans, utensils, or cleanup facilities, please bring paper towels to wipe off your stoves, pans, dishes, and utensils. A well-maintained portable flush toilet is provided in a tall tent near the main residence. A spigot can be found with fresh well water on the back side of the main residence. We do not offer showers. However, the Boulder Recreation Center (a 10-minute drive) offers showers and other facilities for a small fee. You can enjoy a historic mining town experience with fine dining and live bluegrass/ folk music at the town of Gold Hill which is less than 20 minutes up our canyon. If it's windy, please skip the fire... the BFD is very strict about this!! We have well water feeding a solar shower (only hot when the sun shines) and sink (non potable unless you have a filter). - CLOSED FOR THE WINTER We have a wading / dog pool continually refreshed from the creek. I just built a new filter!! It’s a saving grace in the summertime. - CLOSED FOR THE WINTER We have a community gas grill - please donate to the propane fund. My family and I really enjoyed camping at Dot and Byron's boondocking site. I have a 24 ft. travel trailer which fit nicely in their spot. The area is beautiful to say the least. Dot and Byron were very hospitable and very helpful in many ways to include providing information on the area and helping me get my camper in place. It was quiet and peaceful even with other guests on site. Initially, the proximity of the workshop and permanent trailer was slightly off putting but with all the goodness that feeling faded fast. We had a great time and I felt relaxed there.

I am so grateful that Eric is sharing a bit of his heaven. I grew up on a small farm in Poland , so sounds of chickens , or goats , is something I am used to. Maggie (the pig) visited us in the morning , sadly we missed her, so she decided to leave a little souvenir 💩 in front of the stairs to show she was there 😂 That made me laugh so hard, and again brought back the memories , when I was on poop scooping duty 😂 you stay on a farm , so be prepared for that kind of thing and do not complain. I personally loved everything about this property, and I can also easily say that I made friends with horses. Couldn’t stop petting the goats , and simply enjoying the simplicity of that kind of life. I totally recommend this place for those who appreciate farm living!
