There is one tent or vehicle camping location. There is no shore power for vans/rvs or wifi near the camp sites. The property is also home to abundant wildlife including a Great Horned Owl, Coyote packs, Elk, Deer, Woodpeckers, Hummingbirds, Bobcats, Bats and Frogs, and the neighbors farm animals.
Crestone is a beautiful, remote, high desert wilderness surrounded by classic Colorado (almost) 14-ners with high alpine lakes, rivers, hot springs, rock climbing, mountain biking, and our property borders on the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Crestone is also known for its 30 diverse spiritual centers, incredible star gazing as a official dark sky community, alien sightings, and it's beautiful and unique housing community that focuses on building with reclaimed and natural building methods. Our home, like many of the homes here, is creatively made from recycled materials, using two train cars for the body of the house. The property also hosts a 1200 square foot Dojo, built by the previous owner, a Qi Gong master lineage carrier. We are completely off grid, using solar power, wood heat and some propane when needed. We aren't on sewer or septic, so this is an opportunity for the understanding of composting toilet and humanure systems.
Our goals on the property are to enhance our lives, and those in our community, with everything we do here. Our home and community provides an opportunity to learn about natural living and building methods, composting, the beauty and challenge of living off grid, and ample opportunities to be in nature. We invite you to not only be prepared for this, but to lean into the experience as this unique high alpine environment can be one of the most inspiring and epic places on earth.
We are currently fixing up what is already on the property for an eco-experiential retreat as well as a space for like minded artists to take refuge and create magic on the land. We currently have our workshop and studio space up and running as well as the first of several livable structures completed - an 100 year old rehabbed miners cabin using Hempcrete and other natural materials, complete with a communal outdoor kitchen. We also have begun hosting our first artist/maker residents who are using the shop space and land to bring their own creations to life. Over time, we have dreams of permaculture farming, eco building workshops, community collaboration, and the ability to host gatherings – however, we are committed to taking it all one step at a time and allowing only what is meant to be to unfold. For now it is simply our home, a maker space for art and experimental eco building, a gathering spot for friends and a quiet Hipcamp spot.

We had a wonderful stay at Tim's glamping site! Tim was a great host; he shared helpful local recommendations and made everything easy from start to finish. The site was peaceful, quiet, easy to find, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed.
The location is ideal, with easy access to Alma, Breckenridge, and beautiful hikes. We hiked Wheeler Lake and highly recommend it.
Be sure to bring bug spray and be prepared for a short uphill walk to the campsite.
We had a fantastic experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We had a really lovely time staying here. My husband and I booked a one night stay with our two dogs to get out of the city and unwind. We are big animal lovers and it was such a special experience to see all the happy horses, mules, and donkeys on the farm. Many came over to say hello when we walked by! We also saw a group of cows across the way that were very cute, and many types of birds, deer, wild turkeys, and even an elk! We kept our distance of course, but it felt like every time we looked around there was a new critter to watch. The tent was very nice and had wonderful amenities that made the experience stress-free. We especially liked the electric cooler. And it was nice to be able to have a fan at night. We felt very welcome and would definitely like to return.

2 nights at Placer Club
This is an awesome place within the mountain peaks at almost 14000 ft. Tim is super cool and has done a ton of work all by himself. He’s not done yet but this place is super cool. Put a lot of thought into it. Seems pretty into Nichè. Seems pretty Type A. Make sure you vacuum and pick up after yourself because all those tools are at your expense. He makes sure you have everything you need and is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Had a great time here and would definitely come back. Be good people :)

Weekend Trip to Private 120-Acre Horse Sanctuary
I spent three June nights in this comfortable, well-appointed glamping tent with a wonderful tea selection. Candice and George are lovely hosts who thought of everything and brought me so many delightful treats. I didn't do much cooking but I could have, the site was so well equipped. I was too busy visiting animals to cook. I tacked an hour long donkey experience onto my stay and made the rounds each night, meeting dozens of horses and mules and donkeys. Heavenly, the donks are my favorites. I also saw a few pronghorn including a baby, a vole, reptiles, and a flock of wild turkeys roosting in the trees nearby (surprisingly not very noisy at night). I counted at least ten bird species. On a full moon night, I heard coyotes and great horned owl (the tent had earplugs, plenty of blankets and pillows and a nice bed so I still slept well). And I met some wonderful volunteers and their dogs.
There's lots to do within an hour's drive, especially if you like food and physical activity. I caught a free outdoor yoga class, farmer's market, zipline adventure park, lots of good food in Castle Rock and Parker, a serene forested hike in Larkspur. I also spent a lot of time at the campsite in the hammock, catching up on my reading. Don't miss this spot, it's such a gem with kind people, incredible animals and beautiful nature.

Weekend Trip to Peak Pop Up Glamping
I had the best time! I stayed with a couple of my friends and we had the chance to use the sauna on site too which was a lot of fun.
The inside of the tents are so pretty and super comfy. Plenty of room for our group of 3. The shower on site and lounge was also super convenient for cooking. I would stay again. The hosts were super friendly and accomodating

THIS is the glamping spot! It didn’t look like much when we drove up, but it held so much good energy, people, and fun! We stayed 2 nights in the Raven tipi. It was beyond expectations with a super comfy king bed, a power station for charging, flashlights, great decor & rugs, and a thoughtful piece of plastic for any areas that might get wet when it rains. It’s a real tipi so there is an hole at the top. We got down pours both days but things stayed dry since they provided what we needed in case of rain. The kitchen had everything you needed (plus) and was a great gathering spot to meet other explorers. They had the cleanest looking and smelling bathrooms I’ve ever seen in public and they are compost toilets! The coolest billiards room, ping pong table, fuse ball, painting supplies, games, and great people, especially the hosts Kent & Brandy. This is a ten out of five stars must-stay if you’re going to Mesa Verde or anywhere in the 4 corners area!

The location was remote and directions made it easy to find. Serene, quiet, quiet, quiet. Outdoor sink/kitchen and picnic table were handy for clean up/bfast. Toilets were clean and shower set up cool but we didn't need to use. Tent was larger than expected, firm bed was cozy w fluffy blankets and string lights were soothing. We will definitely return and recommend. Thank you for helping reset the Cells, Namaste, Amituofo, thank you🙏🏽

2 nights at The Hop Yard Hideaway
Super awesome place to camp. We loved the tent and furnishings. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom/shower facilities were great. We should’ve known how incredibly hot it was going to be and I do regret bringing a canopy for you are out in the OPEN no coverage. Although there is some on the property within the cool cutout silos where they host live music events. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again. Most likely in spring or early fall.

I loved staying at Lydia’s tent! She was super hospitable and really welcoming. The tent was beautiful and so unique, and the view was incredible, especially at sunset. Beautiful drive to the location, address provided took me right to the site, and I slept wonderfully on the massive and comfy bed provided— it was super cozy! The bathroom and shower were also a cool experience on their own. They were clean, water was hot, pressure was great, and they were super cute and unique.

We just returned from our weekend enjoying the Whispering Pines Glamping spot, and had a wonderful stay! Marsha and Mike have created a little Oasis in the woods and we highly recommend it to anyone considering booking this spot. So much thoughtfulness went in to creating it and it includes every amenity you could possibly need from a comfy and cozy bed, all the pots, pans and utensils you might need, camp chairs, water, dry flush toilet, fire pit and so much more! Marsha even left us some coffee to brew in the morning. It was such a peaceful place away from everything. We definitely hope to return soon!
