Hi! We are a bright family in a small community, developing our 42 acres in Crestone, Colorado. Our property features a host of cottonwood trees, a seasonal creek, a creative outdoor bath house and a 1.5 acre mini farm in progress. There is a bell tent available with a king. There is one tent or vehicle camping location. There is no shore power for vans/rvs or wifi near the camp sites. The property is also home to abundant wildlife including a Great Horned Owl, Coyote packs, Elk, Deer, Woodpeckers, Hummingbirds, Bobcats, Bats and Frogs, and the neighbors farm animals.
Crestone is a beautiful, remote, high desert wilderness surrounded by classic Colorado (almost) 14-ners with high alpine lakes, rivers, hot springs, rock climbing, mountain biking, and our property borders on the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Crestone is also known for its 30 diverse spiritual centers, incredible star gazing as a official dark sky community, alien sightings, and it's beautiful and unique housing community that focuses on building with reclaimed and natural building methods. Our home, like many of the homes here, is creatively made from recycled materials, using two train cars for the body of the house. The property also hosts a 1200 square foot Dojo, built by the previous owner, a Qi Gong master lineage carrier. We are completely off grid, using solar power, wood heat and some propane when needed. We aren't on sewer or septic, so this is an opportunity for the understanding of composting toilet and humanure systems.
Our goals on the property are to enhance our lives, and those in our community, with everything we do here. Our home and community provides an opportunity to learn about natural living and building methods, composting, the beauty and challenge of living off grid, and ample opportunities to be in nature. We invite you to not only be prepared for this, but to lean into the experience as this unique high alpine environment can be one of the most inspiring and epic places on earth.
We are currently fixing up what is already on the property for an eco-experiential retreat as well as a space for like minded artists to take refuge and create magic on the land. We currently have our workshop and studio space up and running as well as the first of several livable structures completed - an 100 year old rehabbed miners cabin using Hempcrete and other natural materials, complete with a communal outdoor kitchen. We also have begun hosting our first artist/maker residents who are using the shop space and land to bring their own creations to life. Over time, we have dreams of permaculture farming, eco building workshops, community collaboration, and the ability to host gatherings – however, we are committed to taking it all one step at a time and allowing only what is meant to be to unfold. For now it is simply our home, a maker space for art and experimental eco building, a gathering spot for friends and a quiet Hipcamp spot.

Weekend Trip to Florissant Farms
This was my second time booking with Grayson at Florissant Farms, and at this point it’s quickly becoming a birthday tradition! 🥂
Just like my first stay, Grayson had everything we could possibly need and the site was comfortable, well thought-out, and such a perfect little escape. There was a fire ban during our stay, but Grayson even had a gas fire pit available so we could still enjoy that cozy nighttime-by-the-fire experience without missing a beat.
Fantastic host, fantastic property, and another wonderful birthday weekend in the books. I’ll obviously be booking again! 🌲✨

1 night at Bright Star Campground
This was the best Hipcamp experience I've ever had. Everything at Bright Stars was well thought out and realized. It's really clear that the team here are offering every convenience possible while still keeping true to the spirit of camping. I plan on coming back and bringing as many friends as possible!

Weekend Trip to Placer Camp
Had such a wonderful time here! The whole glamping setup was beautiful, cozy, and had everything we needed. The bell tent was super comfortable, and it was so nice having the queen mattress and bedding already set up. We also loved having the cooking supplies, cooler, fire pit, and heater. All of the extra amenities just made camping feel so easy! The site itself was gorgeous and peaceful, surrounded by nature and perfect for relaxing. Our group had an amazing time, and it was such a fun way to get away and enjoy the outdoors without giving up the comforts of home. We’d definitely come back and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to be “outdoors” without giving up all the luxuries that you have to when tent camping.
The host of the site always went the extra mile with helping us out. He assisted us in getting all of our stuff to the site, setting up the propane fire, and gave great recommendations for hiking in the area. Thanks for a great time Tim!

Weekend Trip to Infinite Empire Farm
This was the perfect place to stay a night on our drive from Texas. Just on the edge of town, this camp had beautiful scenery, but was only 5 minutes from Main St. The tent was clean and comfortable, I'm really glad we stayed here instead of a hotel.

Tim's place was amazing to us as a family. He was very attentive and helpful throughout the time we were there. The lookout scenery was amazing from high-up in the camp site. The location of the camp is excellent with easy access to different nearby tourist town. Literally we only need to bring our food, pack-and-play, things for the kids; and Tim provided almost everything our family needs. We also went fishing in nearby lakes and reservoirs which are a short drive from the camp. We did not have the chance to use his kayaks, but definitely next time we will!

4 nights at Peak Pop Up Glamping
What a unique experience! Staying at Yellow Barn Farm felt like giving back to the sustainability efforts in the works on this historic piece of land. The campsite was peaceful, with the sound of running waters mostly covering the road noise. The bell tent is very cush, with power, seating, lighting, blue tooth speaker, flashlight.
I wish we had taken advantage of the Sauna and Cold Plunge on-site...it seemed very popular with the locals.

This was our first experience glamping and it was great! Tim is very tentative and works hard to make sure you have everything you need. He also gave us some great tips on must see attractions around Alma. We can’t wait for our next visit!
