Nestled against the breathtaking backdrop of southern Colorado's high desert, the land in Fort Garland offers an awe-inspiring escape into the heart of the majestic San Luis Valley. Framed by the towering peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, this unique high-altitude sanctuary combines wide-open skies with a profound sense of peace and seclusion. The camping spaces are designed to immerse you in the rugged beauty of the landscape. Set up camp under a canopy of stars that stretch endlessly across the night sky. The environment here invites deep relaxation and connection with nature. By day, enjoy crisp mountain air, panoramic vistas of the sweeping valley floor, and the tranquil peace and quiet. By night, experience some of the clearest, most brilliant stargazing in the country. It is a stunning, inspiring haven for mindful reflection, quiet retreats, and unforgettable outdoor adventures. We also have extras such as a community fire space, a relaxing hammock, and a game of ladder toss and cornhole. We're not far from Zapata Falls, The Great Sand Dunes, The Gator Farm, The Greenhouse in Hooper, Area 420 and Taos New Mexico.

Great Horned Owl Spot 3

Tent site · Sleeps 6
3rd spot located to the left of the main area near the community fire space and train car with the hammock inside. This space has an individual fire pit and space for three tents. There is an electric box to charge phones in between the bell tent and train car. You must bring your own camp toilet or use ours if available. Water is available for drinking and cold showers, we have one portable camp shower or bring your own. Please be aware, we have an outside cat named Frai and he loves people and will try to hop in your vehicle or tent. Please make sure he is not in them when you leave. If you have more than one vehicle, you can park in the large sand area by the house.

2nd spot located directly in the middle of the main area with a string of solar lights up. It's near the community fire space and train car with the hammock inside. This space has an individual fire pit and space for three tents. There is an electric box to charge phones in between the bell tent and train car. You must bring your own camp toilet or use ours if available. Water is available for drinking and cold showers, we have one portable camp shower or bring your own. Please be aware, we have an outside cat named Frai and he loves people and will try to hop in your vehicle or tent. Please make sure he is not in them when you leave. If you have more than one vehicle, you can park in the large sand area by the house.

Nighthawk Spot 4

Bell tent · Sleeps 8 · 1 toilet
This site has a twenty-one foot mostly unfinished bell tent for you to set up on the inside as you'd like. There is a queen size air mattress, a twin size chair/bed, a table and chair if needed for your convenience. This site also has a camp toilet and large area with a private fire pit. Bring your own chairs or we can set you up with straw bales. There is also an electrical cord for charging phones or using small lights. Please be aware, we have an outside cat named Frai and he loves people and will try to hop in your vehicle or tent. Please make sure he is not in them when you leave.
