Dark Skies: If you like to watch the stars and meteor showers, Bliss Canyon is blessed with dark skies with little light from the plains. Bring your telescopes and explore the Universe. Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin entrance to the park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles. Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. (Advance reservation required for entry 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for main park, or 5:00 am to 6:00 pm for Bear Lake corridor.) Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask Dot for details. The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, lots of great live music, and quaint shops. Also, Spirit Hound Distillery received the award for the #1, Best Whiskey in the World in 2022, hmmm, it might be worth a tasting! Due to our popularity reservations often fill up quickly. We suggest you make your reservations in advance especially if you have a group to rent the entire camp. At times there are last minute cancelations which allows for last minute openings. Such a peaceful property, with a very kind host! Leaf was helpful and happy to accommodate my few needs, and showed me around the property to get a lay of the land. I was lucky enough to be the only camper during my stay. Calm and intentional vibes that I really appreciate when camping.

Tim was very helpful and responsive to all our questions! He helped us bring all our stuff up to campsite D in hand wagons. It’s a short walk from the parking lot but it is a little steep, so good to keep in mind while packing but really overall not a big deal. We still opted for the campsite a little further up. It was nice and secluded and we couldn’t really hear any of the other campsites. We were surprised to hear that Tim has only been doing Hipcamp on his property for a short while. He has it really dialed in. He had a dish basin, trash bags, a fire ring, toilet paper, camping chairs, and the best part was easily having access to potable water. Tim told us about all the changes and improvements he’s making to the property and we’re really excited to come back and see them all in future seasons!

The property was peaceful, well maintained and made for a relaxing camping experience. The campsite offered plenty of space and privacy, and it was a great spot for exploring the surrounding area. Tim was friendly, responsive and provided clear directions and information before we arrived.

Nice spot super close to Red Rocks. Spot is small but big enough for a Promaster. Just was very nice. Clean bathroom with hot shower. I’ll for sure stay here again!

We enjoyed tent camping next to tge River. Having a porta potty super close with kiddos was so nice and in top of it, it was very well kept. Dumpster was nearby and office sells ice which is really helpful. There's also a playground for kids. We enjoyed our stay here.

Honestly, I am so tempted to not write a review cause I want to keep this secret so I can go whenever I want and not have it get popular. However I can’t lie even by omission. This was the best set up I have ever been in. The tent is great. The kitchen set up is fabulous. The area is great. There are lots of lovely seating areas. The patio/eating area is lovely. The shower has amazing water pressure and it was so nice to come “home” and shower after a hike. I cannot over state how relaxing and lovey this stay was. There’s a little road noise from being in a canyon and the port-a-potty is shared with another site but that in no way reduces the enjoyment of the location. Dot is lovely and responsive. I am literally planning on going back again this year.

We stayed in the tipi on Leaf's property for one night and it was a really nice space. He's a wonderful host who has created a special campground in the mountains. We appreciated the personal welcome and small touches like extra blankets for padding under our sleeping bags and the candles. The road in should be taken slowly, but it's not tough with AWD/4WD and is only about 20 minutes from Nederland.

Surrounded by huge pines and tucked away, this little oasis was a much needed vacation! Could not be more pleased with how beautiful this was. We saw all kinds of birds, including hummingbirds and woodpeckers, we had butterflies flying above us and wildflowers at our feet. Super peaceful and Leaf was a very kind and respectful host. I think this was my favorite camping experience since moving to Colorado!

We had a wonderful stay at Tim's glamping site! Tim was a great host; he shared helpful local recommendations and made everything easy from start to finish. The site was peaceful, quiet, easy to find, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The location is ideal, with easy access to Alma, Breckenridge, and beautiful hikes. We hiked Wheeler Lake and highly recommend it. Be sure to bring bug spray and be prepared for a short uphill walk to the campsite. We had a fantastic experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Monarch Spur RV Park and Campground

Ok...so we are hesitant about writing a review. Becuse we want to be able to book here again and not in 10 years. The campground is one of the most clean and taken care of we have ever seen. The owners have so much pride in their place and it shows. There was a fire restriction over the 4th unfortunately, so no fireworks or fires ( insert sad face). The owners took it upon themselves to feed the camp, serve cake and ice cream Sundays and provide live music for everyone at no charge. It was one of the most memorable 4ths we have had. Thank you for everything you did for us over the holiday weekend.

Super fun! The decor was great and the hosts made sure everyone had an amazing time. Perfect for families, dog owners, and couples. It’s right about halfway between the Royal Gorge and town, so easy to glamp in style. I’ll come back and try another site for sure!
