Little Scraggy Camp is located on 95 acres of an historic 160-acre ranch that was homesteaded by our family in the 1890’s, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This totally off-grid ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest, yet has easy access from a paved road. We offer several accommodations and glamping sites, as well as sites for moderate sized RVs, travel trailers, truck campers, vans, tents, and hammocks. Additionally, we have sites for small groups (up to 16 people) and large groups (35-200 people).
NEW FOR 2025 - two separate, professionally designed 18-hole disc golf courses with PDGA regulation baskets, and a Pro Shop with a free 9-hole putting course, which is great for those who have never played disc golf and want to try it out, (we have free loaner discs). Our Hipcamp guests get a 10% discount on player fees, their children play free.
Portable toilets are only a short walk away from sites. We also have several cornhole toss games set up. Friendly, well-mannered dogs are welcome to enjoy YOUR campsite off leash, but please clean up after your dog.
We are an ideal basecamp for hiking or biking trail enthusiasts,with direct access to the Little Scraggy Trail and Segment #3 of the Colorado Trail. Little Scraggy Trailhead is 3.5 miles away, with easy access for biking, hiking, or horseback riding on the many other trails of the Buffalo Creek area.
You might prefer rock climbing Little Scraggy or fishing the gold-medal waters of the South Platte River canyon below Cheesman Dam and the waters near Deckers. For a day trip, Wellington Lake is only 30 minutes away for no-wake water sports. Many people enjoy kayaking on the North Fork of the South Platte downstream from nearby Buffalo Creek.
This is a working ranch where we raise and train Shire draft horses and also ponies. Our particular interest is in carriage driving, and we offer driving experiences upon request.

Walk-in sites are just a short hike, about 100 feet, on an unmanicured trail to our platforms. We provide the platform for your tent as well as access to all of our lodge's amenities; front desk, lobby, bar & beer garden, fire pits, grills, bathrooms, shower, outdoor common areas, free wifi, etc.
A-Lodge has a 7-day non-refundable cancellation policy. If you cancel within 7 days of your arrival, 50% of the total is non-refundable.

You’ll also meet our friendly resident goats 🐐 and dogs 🐕, who are part of daily life at camp. Wildlife sightings are common, including moose, bears, and elk.

RVs or campers: Please call ahead to make sure your vehicle will fit!
Camp ACA is also a unique venue for small group events of up to 25 people, including family reunions, intimate weddings, retreats, workshops, offering a private, scenic setting surrounded by nature.
Our driveway is the gateway to Yankee Hill, the largest Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) area in the Front Range, with endless opportunities for hiking, exploring, and responsible off-road recreation.
🌲 Arrive empty-handed and still camp. We offer a donation based Gear Library including Paddleboard's, kayaks, tents, sleeping bags.
🚣 A private lake is just 10 minutes away, perfect for a quiet escape into nature.

We are conveniently located on Hwy 50, in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, and have all sorts of rental options for your outdoor adventure needs. Whether you want to pitch a tent, try out the glamping experience, enjoy the convenience of an RV, or rent one of our fully equipped RVs, we have the perfect spot for you.
We have four entrances marked by sail flags into the campground, two by the lake, one near the bathhouse, and one by the post office (on our property). The map of the Arkansas River has our campground listed!
Adventure awaits with home to the highest mountain peaks in Colorado and the river and 102 miles of Trout Gold Medal Water. There is access to white water rafting, guided fishing, and fishing lessons. There are at least 5 hot springs within 60 miles of Twin Bridges Campground. Salida is considered the white-water rafting capitol of the US by some and has a whitewater park and surfing wave. Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking (14'ers anyone?) and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive with restaurants and other fun near Canon City. The Sand Dunes are 90 minutes and Monarch Ski Area is 45, we have some of the best bird watching! Warbling Vireo, Western Wood-peewee, Cassin's Kingbird to name a few.

Weekend Trip to People of the Honey
We stayed in the tipi on Leaf's property for one night and it was a really nice space. He's a wonderful host who has created a special campground in the mountains. We appreciated the personal welcome and small touches like extra blankets for padding under our sleeping bags and the candles. The road in should be taken slowly, but it's not tough with AWD/4WD and is only about 20 minutes from Nederland.

We had a wonderful stay at Tim's glamping site! Tim was a great host; he shared helpful local recommendations and made everything easy from start to finish. The site was peaceful, quiet, easy to find, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed.
The location is ideal, with easy access to Alma, Breckenridge, and beautiful hikes. We hiked Wheeler Lake and highly recommend it.
Be sure to bring bug spray and be prepared for a short uphill walk to the campsite.
We had a fantastic experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

This is an awesome place within the mountain peaks at almost 14000 ft. Tim is super cool and has done a ton of work all by himself. He’s not done yet but this place is super cool. Put a lot of thought into it. Seems pretty into Nichè. Seems pretty Type A. Make sure you vacuum and pick up after yourself because all those tools are at your expense. He makes sure you have everything you need and is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Had a great time here and would definitely come back. Be good people :)

2 nights at People of the Honey
We loved staying in the Tipi Beehive & appreciated Leaf’s hospitality, guidance on staying in the area, and good energy! The land was absolutely beautiful & near our hike at Brainard Lake, which was super convenient. It was an awesome experience! We hope to return for deeper journeys in the Sacred space that People of the Honey offers & learn more from Leaf’s wise soul. Deep gratitude for you dear Brother!

3 nights at Wideawake Ranch and Waterhouse
The land is really beautiful and serene. We enjoyed the convenience and comfort of having a large tent already set up. Our site felt secluded and private - others are definitely more exposed. The hosts were kind and welcoming. We enjoyed our evening soak in the warm mineral water as well!

1 night at Starlite Vintage Resort
The Starlite Vintage Campground & Resort was such a unique and fun experience! We stayed in the Firetruck Retro RV, and it was incredibly cool. Everything was spotless—from the campsite and concrete pad to the RV itself. The staff was some of the friendliest you’ll find this side of the Rocky Mountains, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind getaway, I highly recommend checking out Starlite. We can’t wait to come back!

With kids
Had a great time at the cabin with my wife and 3 year old! Super cozy spot with a beautiful view. We loved seeing the hummingbirds and wildflowers, well definitely be back!
