Lone Duck Campground sits just outside the city lights of Colorado Springs at the base of Pikes Peak, at an elevation of 7,600 feet. Our prime location puts us within a short distance of the many beautiful Colorado attractions. This makes us an ideal stop for families looking for a summer adventure or folks just passing through for a couple of days. We strive to make every stay a special experience. We loved our stay at Lone Duck. I was able to check in, set up camp, make it back home to pick up the kids from school, go to my kid’s track meet, and make it back to make campfire dinner! The good: Lodging options cabins to tents, swimming pool, fishing pond, general store, showers, arcade, WiFi (if you want it), playground, close to town (if you forgot anything), and the employees were friendly! The not so good: Close enough to Highway 24 to hear traffic (even through the night), some adjacent buildings to tent area had bright porch lights that made stargazing challenging. Overall we had a wonderful stay. Easy to get to, inexpensive, and a lot of amenities, as long as you’re not looking for peace, quiet, and isolation in nature. We will be back and I would recommend!

summertime fun of days long gone. We took our grandson here to keep him away from computer screens and bebpresebt. We enjoyed swimming and fishing and meeting so many friendly people, which included the staff. We are planning to make this an annual vacation.

This place is great, as long as you have the right expectations. My wife described it like going to a hostel instead of a hotel - the campsites are close together, it's close to a highway, so it's not for private picturesque camping. But for us, that didn't matter. We were meeting some friends in Manitou Springs and this was perfect proximity. The staff was super friendly. They had great amenities (like a fishing pond - you could borrow fishing gear, I think - and a swimming pool). Very cute. Had bathrooms with showers and free coffee in the morning. Felt like a summer camp. Would definitely stay again on my way through.

It was great! Things to be aware of, some tent sites are behind a neighborhood, but there was still plenty of privacy. Also the site is off the highway and occasionally could hear a trucker passerby. The pool was awesome! Lots of trees and shade and central to the activities we had planned in town.

Our family had two cabins and 1 tent site over a holiday weekend. Overall, we had a great time. The pool is nice, the arcade is cool, the fishing was fun. The staff is nice and helpful. They drove around on their golf carts to check on how things were going for their campers. The tent sites are really close together and then some had multiple tents and cars at each tent site, making it really, really tight. The campground is right off of Hwy 24 so we could hear road noise. Having showers and flushing toilets while camping is always appreciated! However, they were having plumbing issues. There wasn't a notification or a sign posted. Communication about that would have been nice.

This keeps saying I have a low rating, but I clicked on “I would recommend to a friend “ The employees were so nice. They helped us set up a fishing pole for our son and he had a ball fishing in the pond! The pool was broken so it was not open, but honestly it was a little cold for swimming anyway. The cabin and grounds were super clean. The bed mattress was super uncomfortable for us old folks, and the cabin had a weird smell that we got used to after a while. We were able to have a campfire and made smores. It was a step up from our tent that we usually camp in and a lot less work.

Cute spot! Fun playground for the kids, they liked watching others fish at the pond. Quiet site, easy hookups, general store was perfect for the little extras we forgot. We especially loved the proximity to the North Pole!

Not the worst...value is worth the price you are paying. The bathrooms are a little ghetto, but work and has hot water so no complaints. Ive seen a lot of reviews that complain about the sites being so close, but, it really wasn't that bad. And yes, the site is right off the highway so you can hear it but we slept in our car so we were not bothered by the noise. It was good enough of a place to come and go as you visit attractions nearby and come to sleep at night.

The host are amazing and super friendly. They are on top of keeping the campground clean. The river next to the camp is just loud enough to hear and not over bearing. The spacing between each camp site is perfect. The facilities are amazing and the hot water is just perfect. Would totally return and encourage others to go.

Staff was friendly and helpful, cabin was basic and comfortable. Good value for the money. The bathrooms were.. fine. Kids loved the pool which was an unexpected amenity. The arcade was filled with of classic arcade games but unfortunately many were out of service because, well, they were 30-40 years old. Lone Duck was comfortable, people were quiet and respectful, and overall completely adequate.

Nice campsite with many amenities finishing pond, the arcade game room, playground, pool etc. The pinball game is really good. I had good time with my kid. However the campsites are over crowded. Drive way is narrow. Have to drive through the playground to the campsite with many kids running around. Not easy to park the RV without additional guide. My campsite sewer is like three feet away from next campsite’s bbq pit. If you don’t mind, then this place to good for you.
