4 nights at Red Tail Ranch at Yosemite

We very much enjoyed our 5 day stay at Red Tail Ranch! It was cute and quiet, and our spot had a beautiful view of an open, peaceful field. We have a 26’ travel trailer and there was plenty of room to maneuver and hook up. We work from the road and used Starlink, which was blazing fast every day. The two ranch dogs stopped by daily and were friendly to us and our dog. And we even had a mama and baby deer visit one morning! We visited Yosemite one of the days we were there and it was an easy, pleasant drive. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we hope to return next year!

Great spot for our 1 night stopover in our van. The area is a little too hot in the summer to really enjoy it IMO but the restrooms, showers, kitchen, and communal space are all REALLY nice to have and we used them all. Thanks!

We had a great stay at Robb’s place. Our first two nights the campground was fully booked (or close to it) but the sites are so well spaced you’d never know. It was quiet and we had plenty of space (far more than at some camps). The bathrooms were clean and well maintained and the outdoor shower was awesome. My kids loved it so much they actually wanted to shower. (If you’re a parent of young boys, you know this is not the norm!). The communal kitchen space was also a really nice feature. It was perfect for washing dishes and made clean up so much easier. We also had our two dogs so having access to the dog run area was amazing! Definitely recommend staying here if you want to be near the park but not in the park.

6 nights at Red Tail Ranch at Yosemite

Red Tail Ranch is very serene and is exactly as described. It’s the perfect base camp for visiting Yosemite (20 miles to Big Oak Flat Entrance) and river rafting the Tuolumne River! RV Site #1 is the ideal space with full hookups. My husband and I booked the spot for six nights. We felt safe leaving our trailer unattended for two days while we were on Tuolumne River. Robb is friendly and promptly answered any questions we had. Overall, I highly recommend Red Tail Ranch for all your camping needs.

Great stay on Rob's land! The teenagers were relieved with real toilets and enjoyed the outdoor shower. Peaceful and quiet. Perfect jumping off point to Yosemite. Great swimming hole nearby!

This site is located off Ferrini Rd a few miles east of Groveland. You look for little stake signs to find your specific camp site. Cooper's Hawk was one of the ones closest to the showers and bathrooms and it was private and shady. A family of wild turkeys visit. While this is not at the pine tree line, mostly oak trees, it is still full of nature. We took a little walk down to the meadow below. The outdoor showers work really well with plenty of hot water and it was a nice nature touch. We loved the barn sitting room full of what seemed abandoned nice furniture...it was quiet and took us back in time. Wifi signal was adequate at our site in Cooper's Hawk. We liked going in to Groveland for the shops and restaurants. We visited the museum there which was really interesting. We also drove out to Rainbow Pool, 10 min away. There are lots of available hikes, connections to the river...we did not go into Yosemite Valley, but this is a nice jump off spot to do it.

John greeted me and filled me in on all the park details along with the campsite. Not a bad ride to yosemite and the Lucky Bush was a nice resterant. Campers were friendly

1 night at Cole Ranch

To give Cole ranch a 5/5 doesn’t do it justice! It was absolutely AMAZING and so much love is put into it. We were able to use canoes and go out on the river with our dog and have such a relaxing day. To top it off, the bathrooms are pristine and huge outdoor kitchen is stocked with any pot pan and utensil you could ever need. The showers had nice soaps and shampoos and everything was gorgeous and clean. Thank you so much Barry and family for an unforgettable stay.

TV2 was very convenient, I appreciated the wooden deck at the site, and the 50A hookup was great. Proximity to restrooms and showers also was great.

pros- grass not dirt, very close to the bay, quite, so many toys to share, swimming, fishing and even carne asada!! it was terrific! only con was the flys but still better than mosquitos

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The amenities were great, and the peaceful, quiet atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax—especially after a long day exploring Yosemite. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but we’re already hoping to book another trip in the future. Robb was very responsive to all of our questions and made everything easy. We had a great time!

Weekend Trip to Yosemite Westlake Camp

I loved the campsite, however as a first time rv owner, they were no help in guiding us into our rv spot. It was quite frustrating for my husband and took over 30 minutes to try and get into our spot. They also need to strongly enforce dogs on a leash as my daughter in law was bit by another campers dog. I highly recommend they get more picnic tables as there were not enough for each camp spot. We shared a table with 3 other families. Site was nice but I feel like they crammed way too many trailers into a small area.

The hour-long drive from Yosemite Valley to the ranch was actually part of the experience—we enjoyed winding down through the scenic forest roads, watching the light change across the mountains. By the time we pulled into the ranch each evening, we felt completely at ease. The property is beautiful and thoughtfully maintained. We especially fell in love with the outdoor shower and composting toilets—there’s something magical about showering under the open sky after a dusty day on the trails. The peaceful, rustic charm of Red Tail Ranch made us feel connected to nature in a way we don’t get to experience often. One unexpected highlight? The turkey sanctuary! It was such a delight to see the turkeys strutting around, living their best lives. It added an extra layer of charm and serenity to an already unforgettable place. If you’re looking for a quiet, rejuvenating base after exploring Yosemite, Red Tail Ranch is it. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already dreaming about coming back
