The tent was amazing, lots of space and everything was super clean. The nature was marvelous with stunning hikes nearby. There was everything needed to cook and clean. The outdoor toilets and showers were amazing, the hot water with the cold nights were so relaxing. When we arrived, the host gave us a full tour of how to use all the amenities and answered all our questions about nearby hikes and places to go to. I would definitely return and recommend others to as well for a getaway weekend to the mountains. I only have good things to say.

Peace and serenity are the hallmarks of this stay. We came in late spring, it was warm during the day and perfectly cool at night. Getting there is a trip, I encourage you to watch the video the host made for how to get there. Also, if you have a car with low ground clearance, you may have a rough time. The accommodations were great too. The tiny home was well appointed, and the views are spectacular. What a beautiful place. I would recommend this place.

2 nights at Harmony's Glamping

What a beautiful spot! Pretty incredible how secluded you can feel, just 20 minutes outside of town. My husband and I booked the yurt for three nights to rest and unplug. When we got there (and lugged our belongings to the yurt), we found it dirty with no bedding. I messaged harmony who quickly gave me a call to let me know she has upgraded us to the dome by the river. The space was awesome- decorated very nice, a private hot shower and best of all, right on the river with a hammock over the water where I spent several hours reading and listening to the sound of the water. There was no one else on the property so we had the place to ourselves! Things I would have liked to have known beforehand: - while we read the warnings about the road, we made it just fine in our Prius. Just go slow and you’ll be fine. -there were no kitchen supplies in the yurt or the fairy dome (contrary to what the listing said) so make sure you bring pots, pans, oil, salt, pepper, plates, cups and silverware. -the toilets are port-o-potties they haven’t been emptied in a looooong time. -there are lots of critters! While unpacking we found a baby rattlesnake which made me fearful to let our dogs out of my sight! There were lots of (giant) spiders in the fairy dome and there were big mice running around the camp at night so make sure you bring everything inside. It is camping, after all! - we weren’t able to get all the way to the waterfall with our three legged dog but the walk was beautiful.

1 night at Bailes Farm

This was one of my favorite campsites I've ever been to! I have camped in Santa Cruz, Pismo and Big Sur, Yosemite as an example of a few places I've been and Bailles Farm is right at the top of the list. My husband is recovering from a stroke and with a little help from me was able to navigate the terrain of the site. The car was able to pull right up to unload. It reminded me of a cross between a cabin and tent; an outdoor experience and camping feel with the privacy of your own toilet and shower along with convenience of a kitchen and bed. If you are a nature buff like me, having a view of the valley WHILE using the facilities and showering is an amazing experience. I'd consider the site "user friendly" even for a first time camper. Our car is a Toyota Corolla and we had no trouble on the drive up. I suggest printing out your instructions or downloading them to your phone. I wish I'd printed reverse directions and map/photos the host provided via email because once you are on the back roads service gets spotty, although we did get reception once at the site. The firewood provided for the pot belly stove inside was gone and after a quick text, they brought us some more. Extremely courteous exchange with the host regarding this and questions we had on the way up. Make sure to take advantage of the hammock swings at sunset like we did and make s'mores or hotdogs over the gas fire pit at night. We will definitely be back. Thanks for hosting us!

Harmony was an excellent host, so far the best I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She was very understanding and accommodating. Her property is beautiful and the waterfall was absolutely amazing and well worth the hike, however it’s definitely a more advanced hike. I will definitely be taking my kids back again.

Had such a magnificent recharging time at harmonys glamping. So cool to be on 4 generation owned land, thank you harmony for creating and sharing such a magical space !! The hike to the waterfall wasn’t too bad just gotta watch your feet and go slow. It was soooo worth it tho. Just wow, so clear and fresh !! The hermit dome was the perfect getaway, literally sitting in the coziest best looking at the trees and hearing the river ,no service, it was heaven for the senses. We will be back !! Beautiful area to camp in. The campsites are spacious and everyone was super friendly. The tent was very clean and you can tell they put a lot of thought into how everything was set up and what you might need, from the towels and furniture in the tent, to the little potted flowers in the porta potty’s. The communal area had a huge kitchen space, ping-pong table, and a few different rope swings, as well as another gas fire pit. The sites are near by each other but the trees and nature walls they’ve put up help give you privacy.

This is a review for the Creekside Fairy Dome where we ended up staying. Harmony and her team are very friendly and accommodating! We were upgraded to stay at the fairy dome and it was AMAZING!! Our 8 year old daughter played in the creek all day! Very family friendly camp site. Clean dome room with very comfortable bed. Warm shower on site was very nice! We also splurged to do two nights with the wood fire hot tub…. Such a wonderful experience! A little bit of a harrowing drive down to the parking lot, but it was all awesomeness after Harmony let us into our Fairy Dome site! Thank you so much for the memories, and we are sure we will be coming back in the future!

Dome Home under the Queen Palms is a "must stay" for those who are looking for a unique glamping experience. My husband loved using the (propane) barbeque grill to prepare a scrumptious dinner. Even though we brought along our own sauces and spices, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that there were already quite a few salts, spices and oil in the cabinet. Please note that if you need to use sugar or honey, you must bring along your own as there is only artificial sweetener available. (This is completely understandable as storing sugar in the cabinet would only attract unwanted ants and other insects.) We used the utensils provided, to cook a hearty breakfast in the morning and I used the French Press to make coffee. There is a kettle to boil water and tea bags in case you enjoy English Tea or Green Tea... The Dome has a bunk bed to sleep in and the lower bed is larger than the upper one. The mattresses are extremely comfortable alongwith the bed covers and we didn't need to use our comforters which we had carried along. Maybe during the winter months you would need your own comforters. I would recommend however taking your own pillows, especially if you know that you would only sleep well on your own pillow. At night solar lights come on to brighten the dining area which is a long wooden table with wooden benches on either side. The restroom area a a little walk away from the Dome. We carried a bottle of water to pour down after peeing each time, to keep odors away.

We have three campsites and a cabin on about an acre of land. If you'd like to hang out on the property, we offer a table and chairs with each campsite to lounge in while enjoying the fresh air and nature. There are also a couple of hammocks available. In addition, our SHARED amenities include an outdoor kitchen that includes a sink with hot water, 2 mini fridges,(full at times, extra coolers available) coffee maker, a two burner stove, a griddle, a toaster oven, blender, tea kettle, and a few pans, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. Also here to SHARE is a Propane fire pit and BBQ area. The bathroom now includes a flush toilet, sink and shower. We are continuously making improvements. Fun Fact: Harbison Canyon was named after John Stewart Harbison - aka the King of the Bee Keepers. He arrived with over one hundred colonies of bees in 1874 and within 7 years he became the world's largest honey producer! Today there are just a few bees in the area.

Bailes Farm

One of the last remaining undeveloped parts of Southern California, De Luz Heights is located adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, and the Santa Margarita River (just a few miles from the campsite). On my 60 acres, there are no major roads going through or next to the property. My land is 13 miles from the Pacific ocean and enjoys a relatively mild yearly climate. Giant boulders provide topographical relief and offer platforms from which to enjoy the view of the nearby Santa Margarita Mountains. The valley views are filled with olive and avocado groves, vineyards, and horse ranches. The Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base is nearby, so you might hear some artillery in the distance on some occasions. The campsite embraces all the comforts of "glamping": a hot shower, composting toilet, beds with sheets provided, gas grill with a stovetop, pots and pans, kitchenware, a sink, picnic table, shaded deck, sofa, lounge chairs, and propane fire pit. The basics are provided: toilet paper, paper towels, purified drinking water, towels, sheets, cooking oil, etc. Campers need to bring their own blankets. I've created a network of hiking trails for especially fit hikers looking for a more rigorous hike than the nearby Santa Margarita River Trail. My trails lead through creek beds, over boulders, through rocky crags, with views of the Pacific ocean on a clear day. Hikers on my trails need to wear proper hiking boots with good traction. Sections of my trails will require bouldering with hands and feet. Expect to have fatigued quadriceps, some scrapes, and a sweaty hat brim. The campsite is accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle; I drive a Kia Forte out there regularly. However, some tips when driving a two-wheel drive car: when going uphill on a dirt road, try to keep some momentum of about 12-15 MPH. If you stop and try to start again, your tires will spin out. If that happens, just reverse down the hill, and try it again with more momentum.

We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your group will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional. Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. It's one of the youngest mountain ranges in the world (in geological terms) and features scores of steep, challenging peaks, which stretch from the natural hot springs of Deep Creek in the west, to huge Yucca forests in the east. 11,500-foot Mount San Gorgonio, named by Spanish missionaries in the early 17th century, is at the center of the first designated wilderness area in America. Also known as "Old Greyback," San Gorgonio and the 11 surrounding peaks over 10,000 feet are home to an extremely rare herd of bighorn sheep. The headwaters of the Santa Ana and Mojave rivers offer premier wild trout streams such as Bear Creek, accessible only by foot. Hundreds of miles of unpaved National Forest roads offer every type of off-road experience -- ranging from an easy drive to Pioneertown, to the most radical 4WD trails imaginable (11 Difficults, six Most Difficults). The Cabin is right in the middle of the major routes. After a day here, you may find it hard to believe that you're just 100 miles (and perhaps a century) away from Downtown Los Angeles.
