Wonderful time. Hidden tents among the date Groves was so private and relaxing. The individual mineral spring jacuzzi at each camping location was a nice touch as well as the mineral spring swimming pool. The dates very yummy. At first we where worried about the heat but the tents are set up nicely with air-conditioned. Overall, a great place.

2 nights at Harmony's Glamping

What a wonderful place for glamping. My family had a good time. We where at first afraid it would be to hot to stay since it is out in the dessert but Ron had each tent set up with air-conditioned and the placement of the tents where shady and private. We loved that each spot had its own little mineral water jacuzzi like tub to use. There is also a large mineral pool to enjoy. The property is fun to explore and we felt very safe on it. Ron is also very personal and great host. He left us some amazing dates that they harvest right there on the farm as a treat and remembrance of our trip. We will make sure to come back.

Harmony's Glamping is a MUST VISIT! We stayed in the Hermit Dome and were stunned by how peaceful and serene our entire stay us. From the sounds of the babbling brook below, to the incredible outdoor shower... you'll feel like you're in your private piece of paradise. Definitely remember to bring all your own kitchen items (pots, pans, cutlery...) but besides that - Harmony leaves so many perfect little touches that were very appreciated! We hope to come back soon!

Weekend Trip to Harmony's Glamping

What a dreamy little place! It was everything I thought it would be and more. The dome is so cool. I thought it was a bit pricey until we got to the waterfall. We were lucky enough to have it to ourselves that day. It felt like a scene out of a movie! The water was beautiful and there were some lounge chairs and floaties that made it even better. The well water used for drinking, the sinks, the outdoor shower and hot tub was great! I know the hot tub add on is pricey as well, but I would definitely recommend! It was really romantic and a very unique experience that I’ve never seen anywhere else. The campsite itself was nicer than I thought it would be! There was a fun little tire swing, a ping pong table, corn hole and more. My boyfriend and I had a blast! We stayed in the hermit dome, which is definitely the most romantic and secluded of the sites. It’s up on a hill and hidden behind a boulder, as opposed to the other sites which are a bit closer to each other. If you’re going for romance, go for the hermit dome! Couldn’t recommend it here enough, and Harmony was such a sweetheart! We couldn’t figure out the shower, and she came down to help us with it. I will 100% be coming back this summer with my girlies. This is a really special place!! We brought our dog and she loved it too. The waterfall hike isn’t super difficult, it’s just a lot of bouldering up the creek. We had to help our dog at a couple points on the way, but coming back she was a pro and raced through.

My wife and I stayed at Ron's date farm for the weekend. It was a very good location for our combined Palm Springs and Joshua Tree trip. Ron and Myung are such generous hosts! Ron checked on us to make sure everything was going well, and he was incrediblyb responsive when I texted him regarding our add-ons. Myung is so incredibly sweet and she makes killer ramyun! Loved the sundae and the pig trotters she added into the soup. The dates are a must-try as well. Staying at the yurt site was also wonderful. We loved soaking in the natural mineral spring in the evening, and watching the stars. Fire pit was also lovely. There was also good distance between the other camp sites. It was really like a dream, watching cottontail rabbits hop around the dates, and falling asleep to the sound of the running mineral spring and the soft rustling of the palm trees. Would stay again if given the chance!

The space was beautifully thoughtful. The placements of the lighting, the pitfire placed in the middle, and the lovely hammocks. Everything is peaceful. Mikael also has a grill on site, the jacuzzi while staring at the stars is highly recommended too!

3 nights at Stargazer Cabin

My fiancé and I absolutely loved spending a few days and nights at Desert Stargazer Cabin. The provided pictures in this listing sure do the place justice, but, I’d still like to go into sharing about the details… Fully stocked kitchen, brand new appliances, fully stocked bathroom and shower, washer dryer in-one. A large indoor jacuzzi in the bathroom with jets and color-changing lights. The bed was a dream, couch very comfortable, many board games to choose from; it just felt like home. Hot tub outside, hanging hammocks on back porch, outside seating on both sides. A beautiful backyard with solar-generated colored lights under every bush, all of which turned on automatically just before dusk. A magical fire pit with big logs and rocks to sit on circling the ring. Very private and safely gated with a lock. We had the entire property to ourselves. I highly recommend this place. And, Mike, the owner/host, is an incredibly professional, kind, and accommodating individual. Very prompt with his replies to online private messages, as well as to phone calls and texts. We will never forget this place… wanna know why? Because we will surely be back to this gem!

2 nights at Harmony's Glamping

The place is very beautiful and peaceful. Harmony was kind and offered us an upgrade to the fairy dome, so this is a review for that site. Everything was clean and lovely to stay in and had a very comfortable bed and extra pillows. It was great having the shower outside in nature and being right next to the creek allowed us to fall asleep to serene running water. The drive down to the site is definitely one to prepare for with 4WD- seriously, don’t risk it with an oversized vehicle or only 2WD. The only downside would be that the portables were not cleaned after the weekend (we arrived Monday and stayed until Wednesday) and they were full and unbearably smelly to use. Would’ve been nice if they were emptied to not dread going into them to use the bathroom. Other than that, a great experience.

This was my second time staying here and it was even better than the first! I came back because this place left a big impression on me the first time, and Ron & Myung are always improving the grounds and ways to make everything more comfortable for guests, they are amazing! Highly recommend this literal desert oasis if you’re looking for a cozy glamping getaway. And the private mineral spring and hot tub makes it a real treat for yourself or other guests :)

Ron was a great host who helped guide us to our yurt and assisted us with anything we needed help with. Our plot was amazing! We loved the two mineral water pools, one cooler one where you can control the heat (it can get very hot!). We utilized the included grill and had a wonderful time dining under the palm leaves. The trees really made it feel like we were in a private oasis! The yurt was very sturdy that didn’t budge even with the super high winds we experienced (25-40mph). Inside included a comfy bed, heater, AC, lamp, and power strip. The bathrooms were extremely clean and it was nice that there was a kitchen available. Make sure to try the dates they are delicious 😋 Pro tip: heat them over the fire or grill for a caramel-like texture and taste.

Their site was a perfect spot for us to start and end our days. They provided everything we needed to be comfortable. It happened that when we stayed it was the "hottest days of the year so far" and so we spent most of our day time away checking out sites etc. Id love to come back during some cooler days so that I can spend more time at the camp. Hosts were very responsive to any questions I had along the way. Would book here again if I return to the area.

Access to pool, BBQ (bring utensils you would bring camping, plates, napkins, towels, etc. There is a small sink to wash dishes (pleases only liquid down the drain) but we do not supply dishes, so paper/disposable stuff required if you plan on cooking) The pool, hot tub and outside bathroom is shared with our small family and anyone staying in the Poolside Lounge during the day if people are swimming, so you may meet some new people while staying at our place. The outdoor bathroom will be shared when other guests are at the pool swimming or hanging out and need to use the toilet, but most likely during the evening hours, it will be all yours, we always try to give a heads up if there will be anyone using the bathroom in the evening. LOCATION: We are located one mile down a well maintained and navigable dirt road, 20 minutes to Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs and Palm Desert, and 15 minutes to the 10 freeway. We're near the Cabazon outlets, 2 hours to Los Angeles, San Diego, Disneyland, mountain areas, and beaches. Nearby there are local wildlife preserves, hiking and outdoor activities. We are 45 minutes to Joshua Tree and a half hour to Coachella. We truly are in the middle of nowhere and the center of everything. For folks traveling in winter, we’re considerably warmer than Joshua Tree and the High Desert. In summer we are cooler than Palm Springs. Immediate neighbors are small farmers and ranchers. Local spas and resorts are available for day use and access to their pools and ponds for as little as $10 a day ($5 seniors). We can provide space for events and entertainment for a small fee. ARRIVAL: Upon approving your reservation we'll send you a welcome message with information we need prior to your arrival to process your reservation, prepare for your arrival and provide you with check in information and accurate directions as gps apps to our location are often wrong. Please answer that initial email as soon as possible. We'll follow up with check in information and driving directions. Once in the gate, stay on the driveway and meet us on the patio with the blue shade sails. We will provide you with an approximately 15 minute orientation and tour, register you, check identification and show you to your campsite. OUR SPACE: Our land is 130 feet wide by an eighth of a mile deep in a residential neighborhood with lots 2.5-10 acres. We can see and hear our neighbors. We maintain a very quiet space but occasionally our neighbors have their own activities and events. Let us know if the neighborhood gets too noisy and we'll try to mitigate those situations. We can also provide free earplugs for those very rare occasions. Guests wanting a totally isolated experience may want to book elsewhere. DragonflyHill Desert Farm is a working farm in a wilderness area. Guests should check weather forecasts prior to arrival and assure that they have the right equipment. We have a moderate cancellation policy that allows guests to cancel 3 days prior to their arrival date to receive a refund. This allows enough time to check weather reports. There are occasional heavy rains and frequent high winds. It can get very hot in summer and reach freezing temperatures in winter. Despite our proximity to the freeway and nearby cities, and our location in a residential neighborhood, this is very much a wilderness area. DragonflyHill is not responsible for the weather. We are not a resort. Expect dry plants and patches during summer and into the fall. As a farm, we may be a bit more rustic than your typical farm to allow for shelter for local wildlife. Our cultivation methods encourage biodiversity and though we are growing food, many of our crops resemble landscaping or natural habitat rather than garden patches. Currently we have habitat viewing areas, an herb garden, an orchard, an outdoor classroom, a sheltered social distancing patio, an outdoor kitchen, meditation gardens, our (seasonal) mineral pool, community library, game boards and toys, and a tree bath. Plant varieties, wildlife and presentation may vary by season. Our farm specializes in herbs, fruit trees, desert and native plants, and edible flowers. We also grow some sprouts and microgreens indoors. We cultivate community and share what we grow with our neighbors and our guests. Guests have shared access to the outdoor kitchen and BBQ area, the orchards, gardens, patios, and grounds of the Desert Farm and Wildlife Habitat, and (for safety reasons) limited access to the pool pond and spa -both unheated. The pool pond is filled with local mineral water from our own well. The pool pond is cleaned regularly & is chlorinated. The pool pond is not cleaned daily and is shared with wildlife. including bees and birds who drink water pool side. Debris from high winds and wildlife may contribute to the pool pond environment. Currently neither the pool pond nor the spa is heated. We also have wheelchair accessible hot water outdoor showers and wheelchair accessible porta potties. The pool area is accessible to guests year round but the pool itself is winterized and unavailable from mid October through mid to late April. We work hard to keep the home well maintained & clean; we're vigilant & do due diligence with professional quarterly visits from Truly Nolen 4 Season Pest Prevention (a green company.) We doubt you'll see any unwanted critters inside or near the house or other structures during your stay, but if you do, please advise us & we will promptly address the situation. DragonflyHill Desert Farm and Wildlife Habitat is in a remote area of the desert with lots of wildlife. To help us keep wildlife OUT of the house and campsites, please keep food out of reach of critters & clean up after every meal. We affirmatively welcome children, but as this is a working farm in a wilderness area, parents will need to be vigilant of their child's safety and activity while here. We are constantly adding activities and features for children and adults. We are child friendly and we are a good location for groups. (Just message us with your details and we can tailor your stay to meet your needs.) We have 1 cat and 1 service dog. Other guests may have pets or assistance animals. Neighbors have chickens, farm animals and pets. There are a few feral cats in the vicinity as well as a variety of desert wildlife. At night you can hear the coyotes though we’ve never seen them or their tracks on our land. Common sightings of road runners, rabbits, hares, lizards, snakes, hawks, doves, desert wrens, migrating ducks (in the Spring), scorpions, mantises, crickets, mockingbirds, insects and spiders. WHO WE ARE: DragonflyHill is a community of artisans, activists, craftspeople and farmers, working together to cultivate community, develop methodologies for living and working together in ever increasing paradigms of social justice and sustainability. We are a safe and sober space that is disability and LGBTQIA affirmative, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-imperialist and de-colonialist, because anything else is just a bandaid. Core values of our work include attention to detail, fine craftwork and cultivating community. Some members of the Dragonfly Team live on the premises at all times and will be here for the duration of your stay. The rest of the team are community members. All Team members work at DragonflyHill Desert Farm and Wildlife Habitat in different capacities, in cooperation and collaboration with each other. It should be noted that we are not a museum community and our collective is not on display. Only 2-3 members of the community are currently responsible for hosting guests. Community members are autonomous and, much of our community functions virtually. There are also occasional community events at the farm, including farming, though many activities are just coming back after the pandemic. We hope to offer activities in the Fall. All activities will continue to be held outdoors and social distancing is required. We speak: English and Spanish. We can communicate somewhat in French, Italian and Portuguese. In addition to campsites, for additional fees, we offer reiki, a private jacuzzi hot water mineral bath, farm tours, firewood, tutoring, tax preparation, vehicle storage, event and space rental, and classes. For our summer guests: We have a very strong central A/C throughout. I have stayed here in 114 degree heat and it has still been cool and comfortable inside. For our winter guests: We have an indoor pellet fireplace which keeps the living room warm, and our bed has a dual-control heating pad (each side can choose their own heat level), and there is a radiant wall heater in the bathroom. There is also central heating for the especially cold nights--please use only when necessary as we are on electric only here and the central heater is not very energy efficient. Our hot tub is designed to stay hot all the time so we always have it set for 100 degrees so it's ready to go when you arrive. Backyard has firepit for cold winter nights to enjoy the stars. We are available through the app or phone any time during your stay and also have local contacts available as well for any on-site emergencies. We're located in Johnson Valley, just about 5 minutes to King of the Hammers/Johnson Valley OHV area, 17 minutes to the Integratron, 18 minutes to La Copine Restaurant, 35 minutes to downtown Joshua Tree, 40 min to Joshua Tree Park West entrance, 45 min to Big Bear. OUTDOOR AMENITIES: We have a sitting area with wood firepit. Please note we do not provide firewood--they can be purchased at any local grocery store. Hot tub can be used any time, but please respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. ***Please note our hot tub gets serviced weekly on Fridays*** TV/INTERNET: We have a Roku TV with basic live channels as well as typical smart apps. Our wifi is 25 down/5 up and we typically actually get those speeds or a bit more on our tri-band mesh network with coverage both inside and outside the house. I have been able to watch streaming TV plus use my laptop to work at the same time without any issues. However please note when it gets especially windy, the internet can go in and out. DESERT/CABIN STUFF TO CONSIDER!! Please be aware we are in the actual desert! We have lots of nature around us and you will see some bugs and critters during your stay. We recommend keeping door closed at all times whenever possible to prevent bugs from getting in. During the summer there are lots of flies--if you leave doors open they will get inside. We have eco-friendly bug spray provided. In order to reach the house you'll need to drive about a mile down a dirt road. It's generally well-maintained and easy to drive, any type of car should be able to drive it (including regular sedans, etc.). However if there's heavy rain, it's possible it could be too muddy for 2-wheel drive vehicles. I have been able to get here without a problem in my 2WD SUV in the rain and even snow, but we are at the mercy of Mother Nature! Due to their age and not having screens, the windows are not to be opened (they are difficult to close and require multiple people and possibly tools to close them, tons of bugs go inside if left open, etc.). You can run the A/C on fan only if you want air circulation without A/C, but guests are not permitted to open them. We are on a water tank which means you need to be aware of willing to be conscious of your water use. Due to being on hauled water and septic and high electric costs, absolutely no filling up, emptying, or hooking up power of RVs, electric cars, trailers, etc. We have plenty of room if you want to park them on our property. We have two partially buried storage containers which we have created a barrier edge around the top, but guests need to be very cautious around the edges as there is a steep drop off on the other side of the barrier. In general guests need to take extreme care if choosing to walk around the yard as there may be steps and inclines that may be dangerous to walk on. There are animals and sharp desert plants on the property which could be dangerous to pets, children, or even adults. Guests exploring the property or letting their children/pets wander around the property do so at their own risk. If you drive off of the gravel areas of the driveway, you could get stuck in the sand, especially if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. We recommend to only drive and park on the areas with the gray rocks. As we are in an area where water is an especially precious resource, please be mindful of running the dishwasher or washing machine only when it's full, and if possible at night when the energy costs are lower. No electric car charging--if you charge your car or use any energy heavy equipment you will be charged an additional $50/day, or for actual cost of the extra usage above our average daily use, whichever is higher. This is a high fire hazard area, use of the firepit or smoking outside must be done with extreme care. Any fires in the firepit and cigarette butts must be fully extinguished and cannot be left unattended. Sometimes during high winds the county prohibits fires. It can get quite windy is this area, so we do not recommend leaving anything outside that could blow away or get knocked over. For this reason no inside furniture or linens can go outside at any time. Outdoor blankets must be taken with you when you go back inside. When it's especially windy power and/or internet can go in and out. Some carriers get service at our house, but the most reliable method is to turn your phone into airplane mode and connect to the wifi. In the Summer: A/C should be turned off or left at 78 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Door should always be closed when A/C is on. In the Winter: Heating should be turned off or left at 65 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Door should always be closed when heating is on.
