I recently fixed up our old 1949 tear drop camper for staying in after it had been abandoned for 30 years. It’s equipped with solar power, a gas burner, a pump sink, and a cooler.
This is a place for people that love old stuff! No marble countertops and stainless steel will be found. For lovers of the funky. There’s an outhouse, an outdoor shower, and a 9 foot deep swimming pool too. Site 2. Consider our Cielo Loft if more space is what you need. Unwind in our cozy, vintage 2-bedroom, 2-bath loft with garden and eastern corridor views. Hangout on the upper landing in the morning with a hot cup of coffee.
From our spot, you can walk through the tree lined neighborhoods to charming cafes, vintage stores, a variety of restaurants and the iconic Oceanside pier, all within a mile!
If its good food you enjoy, our local breweries and restaurants satisfy every appetite. Every Thursday morning brings the charming downtown Farmers Market with art, locally grown fresh fruits and veggies as well as delicious prepared food. Thursday evenings come alive with the bustling Sunset Market's local artists, music, and a variety of delectable food vendors. These are both located in downtown Oceanside.
Its easy to explore beyond Oceanside too! Our location between San Diego and Los Angeles makes day trips a breeze with the train station just a half-mile away. Easily venture to cities to the south, north and even east for the day via the train. Or for those who prefer to explore by bike, we have hybrid bicycles to rent at a flat rate; explore the beach and neighborhoods on two wheels. This camper was perfect for a couple and our dog to have a cozy overnight visit to Long Beach. Lena was very helpful and communicative. The garden yard was gorgeous, the camper comfy, well-equipped, and adorable. Would stay again!

This was our second visit, and once again it delivered exactly what we were looking for. It’s an ideal escape from the city—peaceful, unhurried, and deeply calming. The night sky was absolutely stunning, with stars so bright it felt like they were falling from the sky. It was a special experience to share this kind of quiet beauty with my 10 years old daughter.
The host clearly takes pride in the property. The trailers and restrooms were exceptionally clean and thoughtfully maintained, which made the stay comfortable and stress-free. That level of care really stands out and makes a big difference, especially when camping with your special one.
One important note for future visitors: be cautious on the unpaved access road. Our car got stuck in loose sand(I think its because we went right after heavy rain), and we were only able to get out thanks to help from neighbor of the property. "Special thanks to Papa Joe!"
When driving in, stick to the firmer, compact-looking sections of the road and avoid areas where sand has built up.
Overall, this is a beautiful, peaceful place and absolutely worth returning to—with just a bit of extra attention when navigating the road in.

Weekend Trip to Hideout Mountain Lodge
I had a great time at hideout Mountain. The airstream was well equipped and I had everything I needed to cook, relax, and stay warm. The Outlook near the site is gorgeous, and I spent most of my mornings looking at the view. Also enjoyed Josie’s hideout saloon and found the service to be really friendly and the vibe to be really nice. Live music was a great touch.

3 nights at The White Lodge
Such a cute, private spot near the city. The canned ham may be small but it is so cozy and full of character. The bed was very comfy, and we appreciated a kettle being provided. We did need to pick up our own mugs, so keep that in mind if you like a warm beverage in the morning. The cooler is convenient, but we wouldn’t advise expecting it to function as a fridge. The space around the camper is very private feeling with trees around it. The hot tub is such a lovely addition and was fun to use.
The whole property is very dreamy. There was plenty of space for eating outdoors. Although the weather for us didn’t permit using the pool, it was so beautiful to look at. The bathroom is just a short walk away, and has awesome decor. We would advise bringing sandals or slides for walking to and from the bathroom and shower. The shower is a fun experience, although it’s important to note it’s quite small (width wise) to enter into the cave area. It’s not feasible for dressing in there, so you will also need to be comfortable walking back in your towel or a robe.
The road to the home is very steep and narrow. Street parking is limited but we didn’t have an issue finding parking every night, even when we came back later.
There are a couple of cats on the property that visited us and were so cute and friendly. We also got to meet Morgan who was very helpful and kind! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

The Seemore 1964 Dexter was the perfect hideaway for a solo mission to the high desert, far enough off the beaten path to avoid the T-Day JT crowds. Tristyn and family were INCREDIBLY friendly and warm, and the property couldn't be easier to get to. All the amenities you really want, without the ones you really don't need, and with just the right amount of quirky charm and personal touch.
