This 1968 Shasta Camper, located in a small garden within an urban neighborhood, sleeps up to four people (only 2 people comfortably), with additional space to set up tents if desired. It has a few amenities—some more rustic than others—including AC, refrigerator and freezer, stovetop (oven does not work), sinks, shower, internet, and coffee maker. Located just ten minutes from the Port of Long Beach and the Port of San Pedro, it’s a great launch point for cruise-goers. With swimming beaches only twenty minutes away, it’s an ideal option for a low-cost vacation. Los Angeles is a 1.75 hour train ride making it a doable day trip. Help yourself to the seasonal fruits, vegetables, and legumes from the garden, and watch the bees, butterflies, and grasshoppers happily pollinate, creating opportunities for new growth. The property is securely locked, and the entrance is video-monitored for your safety (and ours). It’s important to note that the camper (not a glamper) is vintage, and the convenience of the urban neighborhood can sometimes come with a variety of neighborhood sounds—though it can also be extremely quiet at times. Due to the desert climate, ants may accompany the pollinators and enter the camper, especially if food or beverages are left out. The garden is shared with our home, so some privacy may be compromised when we tend to it. Street parking only. Pay attention to posted restriction signs and do not park in business or residential lots. The driveway can be made available at a cost of $10 per night (keep in mind the driveway is located at the front of the property and is a short walk away from the entrance to the camper). There are plenty of motels close by on Pacific Coast Highway that are only sightly higher in cost that are surely a better fit for some guests and we'd rather miss out on a guest than leave a guest unsatisfied.

Cutest bargain in Long Beach

We absolutely loved staying in this little camper. It’s just adorable and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe. Lena was very responsive and helpful. Note that like any good camping, the sun comes in early so we recommend an eye mask if you want to try and sleep in!

Super Cute Trailer with many cons

Pros- Very cute trailer. Very well decorated Cute rug outside trailer Beautiful sheets and comforter Host turned on AC before arrival Host has good recommendations for restaurants Cons- Ants near bathroom and bed. Ants ON bed Extreme amount of light comes inside ALL night long. Big flood light at apartments behind trailer. If there wasn’t enough light already. The outlet across from the bed has a light on it Very noisy neighborhood- dogs barking, basketball bouncing, motorcycles, very loud. Gross!! Alleyway to walk through to get to the gate where trailer is located Does not feel safe Cardboard over grass when you open gate. Very slow trickle of water for the shower- even at highest setting. Off street parking later in the day is very limited. Host does offer driveway for $10 however not closely located to trailer. Did not feel like a beautiful garden as described in other reviews. Overall worked for one night but won’t do again. It is a trailer and it is on Hipcamp so it is a camping experience that is located in Lena’s backyard in a busy city- all very true to the description that is presented on Hipcamp.

Super cute camper. Lots of ants in the sink and behind the bed though. There’s a nice area outside to sit and it feels pretty safe to be in there. The ants we could excuse and sleep but when we were going to bed there was a super large cockroach under the toilet seat and we ended up packing up to leave around midnight because we weren’t sure if there were more. There’s lots of open places that could’ve had more bugs but we didn’t want to take out chances looking.

Was so peaceful and had everything I needed to make food and sleep easy. Was nice journaling on the table looking out at the garden as the sun came in thru the windows. Parking wasn’t terribly hard to find either.

Urban garden camper

This place is part garden oasis and part retro camper. These elements work together perfectly! It was cool to see a part of Long Beach that I would have missed if I’d stayed on the usual beach route. The Suoer Saver grocery is a real find!!

Great glamping!

This camper was perfect for a couple and our dog to have a cozy overnight visit to Long Beach. Lena was very helpful and communicative. The garden yard was gorgeous, the camper comfy, well-equipped, and adorable. Would stay again!

Best deal in LBC!

Lena’s camper was comfy, clean, and well located for my stay in Long Beach! The host was kind and communicative, and I really enjoyed my stay! It’s a little more camping than hotel room, but you can’t beat the value for the location. I will definitely be back!

Just passing through town and stayed here for 10 hours of solid sleep. Easy access and right off the freeway.
