Great place for a beginners backpacking trip. We stayed at campsite #6. It was very secluded and quiet. You can walk from the coast camp sites on a short trail to the beach. Huge Beach with beautiful sand and not too many people around.

Weekend Trip to Wackalulu's Wonderland

We loved the space! It was lovely, romantic, cozy and wacky! Lynda met us, showed us around the property - a cozy little boat house cabin, showers, and a well stocked kitchen. They'd even prepped the fire pit for us so all we had to do was light it! The late night lighting was romantic and we really enjoyed ourselves. We'll be back for sure.

Sleeping up in the trees was so much fun! Louis was super friendly and helpful. The net felt very secure. Heads up for light sleepers - if anyone gets up in the night the whole net moves, so be prepared for that.

This place is amazing!!! We stayed in the apartment and had an awesome view of the ocean although it’s mostly just clouds but it’s beautiful! Especially during sunset. The whole apartment was super clean and nice, and had an amazing kitchen with all of the essentials for cooking. She also gave us 4 eggs from the chickens on the farms, as well as a fire starting kit to make a bonfire right outside of the apartment. The outdoor area is super nice with a hot tub, amazing view, seating area and fire pit. Would definitely recommend this place!!!! Sana was also super helpful and responsive.

2 nights at Wackalulu's Wonderland

My husband and I (and our dog!) celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Cozy Cabin. Lynda and Rich have created an adorable creekside oasis! From hanging out on the comfortable porch to walking our dog around the creek, in the woods and to the skatepark to our nightly activity of watching the bats swooping over the creek with a warm fire. The cabin has everything you need and the bed is very comfortable. We highly recommend The Cozy Cabin and we'll be back!

We loved the area and the property where we enjoyed lovely natural surroundings (trees and birds) and a lot of privacy. Paul and Maria warmly welcomed us and communicated with us throughout our stay. From other reviews, we knew about the bathroom situation and made it work. It was very manageable. The camper is both pleasant and practical. We would recommend this experience to anyone who is looking for a retreat from the hustle bustle. We loved spending time on the deck listening to the birds and the wind, and were even able to do some morning yoga.

Wackalulu’s is the kind of place that makes you smile without ever having to try too hard. It’s very comfortable, thoughtfully designed, eccentric, private, and surrounded by nature—like a bougie mix of Swiss Family Robinson meets Pirates of the Caribbean. The hosts are genuinely friendly and fun, if you are in the mood for a chat, but they also have their own space if you are in the mood to be alone. The thoughtful touches elevate the experience. The location is ideal: a short walk to a genuinely healthy and delicious brunch spot and an easy drive (or leisurely stroll) to the Russian River. One of those rare places that's both relaxing and slightly adventurous, and unique but not gimmicky. Spend time wondering the yard and all there is to look at. Would absolutely return.

We had a fun stay at Sugarloaf. The tent was nice - but no screen on the door flap. The fans were a great addition inside to keep air circulating. The view of the meadow and stars was phenomenal. Quail, deer and jackrabbits spotted on our evening walks.

It was our 1 year wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful stay! Just being in the treehouse was incredible, with all the windows and skylights you feel like a bird in it's nest. The deck with the shower and hot tub has an awesome view. The hiking was great just walking straight behind the treehouse and following the fire trails. We has awesome food in Occidental (Howard's Station and Hazel in particular) and enjoyed some nice time swimming in the Russian river. Also I forgot a bottle of medication and the host sent it back to my house, so nice of them!! 10/10 would recommend!

Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Welcome to our family land! As an educator, I run the camp during summers primarily. As a proudly affordable option in Calistoga, all camps are set up to be user ready and campers are responsible for leaving the sites cleaned up and “better” than you found it. If this sounds good, read on! We offer rustic nature, space for tents and smaller RVs, and two levels of cabin camping just 10 minutes outside of our hometown, Calistoga. Our land is beautiful with amazing views and lots of wildlife - which comes with your fair share of roughing it. All sites have their own compost toilet and handwashing station. For glamping experience, CORAL CABIN guests have hot shower access at the Hilltop “Cafe,” which also has a grill, sink, power outlets and Wi-Fi, coffee maker, microwave and toaster, and bathtubs for an extra charge. Water is precious up here so please conserve. *Coral Cabin is at Hilltop “Cafe” and has the only access to the amenities here. This is also the largest, flattest spot for and RV, with great views and cabin access if you wanted. This cabin is our premier ‘roughing it’ experience complete with electricity, WI-FI, TV with Roku, and an AC unit. *Married Manzanitas campsite or cabin rental is high clearance or walk-in only (no RV access) and has an ambient temperature shower at their site fed by a hose. (Hose may need to be turned on at hilltop.) If you choose to rent this cabin, this is our really roughing it experience with no Wi-Fi or electricity, just walls, high ceiling, floor, door and bed (comfy futon). It is very peaceful. Camp has a propane fire pit on request, camp stove, and table/chair seating areas (for 2). *Shaded Oak is furthest from hilltop but can accommodate small trailers (up to 15 feet…), also great sunsets and a rough trail down to our ‘fern gully’ area. Lovely site with relatively easy access to the driveway. Currently no shower access, but has propane fire pit, table and chairs, and water for handwashing. All sites: Pack your trash (just to the trashbin at the bottom of hill)! Add mulch to the toilets! Leave it better! We are proud to be an affordable option in Calistoga and If you can read and agree to the respectful use guidelines that will be sent to you when you request to book, we would be happy to host you!

The orchard has many different fruit trees including heritage Gravenstein apples that were originally planted by the family from Italy. The Gravensteins are ripe between mid July to mid August. The orchard borders a forest with old growth Redwoods, Douglas Fir, Bay Laurel, Oaks, and Madrone. Some wildlife passes through the orchard, especially birds. The site offers great star gazing, sun rises, moon rises and access to a charming walk on a beautiful country lane for sunsets. We highly recommend visiting for the Spring bloom in April and May for a temperate tropical experience. A Two minute drive to Occidental, and a twenty minute drive to the beaches of the Sonoma Coast and the Russian River. A great location to explore and enjoy nearby small towns, wineries, dairies, hiking, bicyling, surfing, kayaking, and farmers markets... or just relax at the site, make a picnic, and bask in the tranquility...

Breathe deep in nature on our 10-acre property on a Kings Mountain, California hillside. Our generously sized Safari-style tents offer a unique blend of comfort and adventure. Each tent is perched on a sturdy wooden platform and features a fully furnished deck, providing a cozy space to relax and soak in the breathtaking ocean (Half Moon Bay views) and forest views (Kings Mountain). All tents include a mini fridge and a stove, ideal for light cooking, intimate fireside storytelling, and warmth during cool days. We suggest you bring easy-to-prep food, drinks, warm clothes, hiking shoes, and a beanie, as it can get chilly without notice. Your designated parking space is a 6-minute walk from the campsite (downhill on arrival, then back uphill (steep) in the forest), so we recommend traveling light. Our campsite is nestled within the same property as our charming little farm. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this. PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike to enjoy the majestic beauties. Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. We are just 11 miles from the city of Sonoma and only 8 miles from the Napa Valley - making both destinations really easy to get to. You can enjoy the California wineries, restaurants, and shops that you'd like! We are also ideally located near Jack London State Park - which is a really pretty and historic place to go! The opportunities for hiking around our property are endless, and definitely head to the wineries if that's of interest to you. On our property you can enjoy exploring our more-than 20 acres of land, taking the row-boat (provided by Hosts) out on our pond, hiking or just relaxing in a serene setting and watching a great variety of birds. Formerly utilized as a bed and breakfast, when we moved to the property we definitely wanted to continue sharing the land and views with guests. As hosts, we are around and enjoy getting to know the our visitors if you are up for that, otherwise we are also happy to respect total privacy. There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. We hope you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and being literally above the clouds as much as we do! About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Additional Details to Note: - Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm - Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! Think: toilet paper, cookware, bathing suits if you like, etc. - We do not have wifi available on site and cell reception is spotty, especially for certain carriers. Please prepare accordingly for your travels and your stay. - There is a fire ban in effect, so please no campfires, but we do allow you to use a propane fire pit if you bring it yourself. - We welcome your pets! If you don’t mind driving a few miles, the town of Guerneville is only 5 miles away, Occidental is about 7 miles, and the Pacific Ocean is only 10 miles from the home; All have excellent choices for dining out. Enjoy the days lounging/boating at the Russian River (Monte Rio beach is just blocks away) and in the evening enjoy soaking in the hot tub under the redwood shaded stars.
