Weekend Trip to Strawberry Fields Forever

Robin and Ray have been so welcoming, they have really made us feel like home. They have helped us with the set up of our rented RV, gave us some very useful tips and also some stuff that we were missing (such as leveling blocks, water filters and toilet chemicals). They also treated us to some freshly made cookies and lended some toys for our kid to play with. The spot was super nice and quiet, with a pic nic table, chairs, wood and a firepit. I would highly recommend staying there. Thanks again Robin and Ray for everything.

2 nights at Kings Mountain Camp w/ ocean views

This place is amazing!!! We stayed in the apartment and had an awesome view of the ocean although it’s mostly just clouds but it’s beautiful! Especially during sunset. The whole apartment was super clean and nice, and had an amazing kitchen with all of the essentials for cooking. She also gave us 4 eggs from the chickens on the farms, as well as a fire starting kit to make a bonfire right outside of the apartment. The outdoor area is super nice with a hot tub, amazing view, seating area and fire pit. Would definitely recommend this place!!!! Sana was also super helpful and responsive.

Weekend Trip to Grey Oaks

Zach and Kirstin are very kind! I'd absolutely recommend this site to anyone. Very quiet. And if you book the site that I had (site 4), it comes with a great view. Don't forget to bring extra blankets. It can be kinda chilly. Our hosts also saved us a couple times with their bin of "commonly forgotten items" that you can borrow. We forgot coffee cups. Without their help, we wouldve been drinking from a paper bowl. Great experience! I'd be happy to camp here again sometime! The shower was also very clean and they provided us with plenty of firewood for 2 nights.

Beautiful camp site nestled in the redwoods, perfect for a little getaway. Matt was very communicative and friendly too. We went with our toddler and had to be careful with some of the poison ivy and narrow paths but she loved it and didn’t want to leave. Would definitely come back!

This is such a spectacular gem! The view was incredible, the hosts were warm and friendly, and the whole tent setup was well thought-out and comfortable. Everything was clean, from the bathrooms to the sundeck, and the mattress was top-notch. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Grey Oaks

I really liked the experience camping at Zak’s campsite. It was clean, well maintained and had all the amenities as described. The popcorn pot and popcorn were a fun touch. The location is conveniently located to a gas station but also very cozily tucked away such that you feel like you’re in wilderness similar to being in a state or national park. I would recommend.

Camping on Zak's property was amazing. He and Kristen were friendly and responsive. I recommend paying the couple dollars to park on site instead of in the guest parking lot simply for convenience. Poison oak is all over the place, but they cleared out the main parts of the campsites really well, just don't go exploring in the woods. They did have a washing station and poison oak specific soap/scrub as well as some calamine which was great. Property is just far enough out that it feels private and not too far from town that you can't make a quick trip if needed. 10/10- would highly recommend staying here.

We absolutely adored our stay at Kings Mountain Fancy Camp. The property is a true oasis including incredible views/scenery and offers complete serenity. The tent itself is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay and every single little detail has been considered to make this a true luxury glamping experience. The hosts, William & Sana, welcomed us like family and we hope to return again soon!

Weekend Trip to Windsor Family Farm

The cabin was cute and cozy, a perfect place for a weekend escape. The homemade hot breakfast (an add on to the booking) was ideal to fuel us on the start of our day. Our toddler loved the French toast and the frittata was yummy. Our son adjusted real quickly to farm life and loved looking at the animals, feeding the sheep and exploring the variety of kid's outdoor toys (multiple playground structures as well as sand pits). He definitely got some imaginative play and comfortable around the many free roaming roosters and two dogs, Duke (very chill like a cool old man minding his own) and Poppy, a sweet and young high energy rescue more interested in chasing the animals than your kids. On the farm there are chicken, roosters, goats, sheep, alpacas, tortoises and rabbits. Kim is a welcoming, laidback, nonchalant host and her daughters cameos were friendly. The farm is a farm with all the smells and dust but the cabins are a intsy bit removed providing a nice combination of relaxing environment for parents and amusement for kids. The shared bathroom is small but practical with cute quirky decoration and it was clean. Small stairs are availble for the kids to wash their hands. The fridge and microwave are outside the house in an outdoor communal space but easy to access. Location is close to a city with many restaurants, so no worries for lunch and dinner choices. Gilroy Gardens is also a short drive away. A place we genuinely enjoyed and plan to return in the future.

1 night at Hilltop Vineyard Dome Glamping

This was my first time dome camping and it was really fun! The sky was clear that night and you could see stars from the dome. The host was great, thank you!

Robin was a great host and popped over to say hello when we arrived. Her location was easy to get to and had lovely views of the farmland. We loved getting to take a walk to the beach and were even able to catch a sunset!

1 night at Fern Ridge Flats - Private Camping

I was here just a few weeks ago and couldn’t wait to come back—so I did! That’s how much I love this spot. This time, I brought my mom and nephew for their very first camping trip, and it was perfect. The site is only about 15 minutes from town, which makes it super easy to grab anything you might’ve forgotten. There’s water available for washing dishes (so we only had to bring drinking water), and the composting toilet has been moved further from the campfire—yay! It’s still very convenient and easy to access (even with kids), but now there’s even more space to gather and relax around the fire. Such a thoughtful improvement. Can’t wait to come back again! It’s the perfect low effort, accessible camping. You still get the privacy, the redwoods, the peacefulness… but without all the effort it takes to camp in more remote places.

First off, Robin and Ray are great hosts, and Robin is a great cook!! The property and sites overlook expansive and beautiful strawberry fields. The short walk to La Selva Beach is 8-10 minutes is easy, and the beach is very private. Great for walking, dogs, and you can fish from the shore. Big thank yous to our hosts. We highly recommend a stay!!

Located an hour drive from the bay area, Camp Cruz is a year-round glamping retreat in the redwoods ideal for people who want a private outdoor getaway without giving up basic living comforts. It is a perfect destination to unwind, recharge, and create special memories in nature. We only book one group at a time so whether you are a couple or a large group, you get the whole place to yourself. It offers guests 2 private bedrooms: the Raven’s Nest (an aircrete dome) and/or the Owl’s Nest (a yurt). More guests are welcome if you bring your own camping tents. Breathe deep in nature on our 10-acre property on a Kings Mountain, California hillside. Our generously sized Safari-style tents offer a unique blend of comfort and adventure. Each tent has beds, down comforters, crisp cotton linens, lights, and more. Outdoor and indoor furniture and little touches that will make your stay unique. Each tent is perched on a sturdy wooden platform and features a fully furnished deck, providing a cozy space to relax and soak in the breathtaking ocean (Half Moon Bay views) and forest views (Kings Mountain). All tents include a mini fridge and a stove, ideal for light cooking, intimate fireside storytelling, and warmth during cool days. We suggest you bring easy-to-prep food, drinks, warm clothes, hiking shoes, and a beanie, as it can get chilly without notice. Your designated parking space is a 6-minute walk from the campsite (downhill on arrival, then back uphill (steep) in the forest), so we recommend traveling light. Our campsite is nestled within the same property as our charming little farm. If you're interested in meeting our friendly farm animals, get in touch, and we'll be delighted to arrange a visit at a time that works best for you and them. Our goats roam the land all day and may visit you for pets and nuzzles. They are gentle, but please do not feed or let them inside the tent. Recharge from the day with a hot shower. Grab your fresh towels from your tent and go to your outdoor allocated bathhouses, where you’ll find an indoor shower and well-appointed restrooms. They are nicely lit and stocked with bath products. A sink area is available for dish clean-up, and a bbq/picnic area. KM is famous for its hiking and biking trails nestled amongst the redwoods. The closest is a 15-minute walk from our campsite, and others are within a 15-minute car ride. Tent 01 (180sqft) accommodates 3 people in a queen-size bed and a daybed. Tent 02 (210sqft) accommodates 4 people: two in a queen-size bed and two in a bunk bed and an outdoor suspended net Tent 03 (210sqft) accommodates 4 people: two in a queen-size bed and two in a twin bed + daybed and an outdoor propane stove, hangout deck Recently added: an apartment w a hot tub Kids under the age of 8 are not allowed.
