It’s a nice, clean and spacious place to camp. The host is also very responsive, welcoming and accommodating. He even offered his RV if needed during our camp. There is also a storage where you get some chairs, table and game stuff that you can use. A great place to stay for those new campers- with toilet, shower. It’s safe as it’s close to the host’s house.

While striking out on state and national campgrounds for a short overnight, Edward’s spot appeared on Hipcamp, which I’d never used before this. It was a basic good spot, not far off the freeway, but still charming with the noise and smells of nearby chickens, squirrels, goats, etc. It felt tucked away. Our random camp mates were wonderful, which was a big plus!

I loved setting up my tent beneath the tree—it offered plenty of shade and kept me cool despite the 80-degree weather. Edward was incredibly accommodating and helpful, which I especially appreciated since it was my first time camping on my own. Having the bathroom and shower nearby made the experience even more comfortable.
If I return, I’ll definitely bring a large tarp to place under my tent so my dog can relax outside without collecting so much dry grass in his fur. Overall, it was the perfect spot for a short weekend getaway and exactly what I needed.

Great spot to relax and take in the scenery. The campsite was under a nice big tree (walnut tree - I think) and campsite was flat, trimmed, and cleared - great for tent camping!
Although the weather was hot during the weekend I was there, there is a breeze that comes from the west in the afternoon. The location is also about 10-15 minutes from hikes and stores. It's great for those who want a quiet area, yet close enough to amenities.
I was greeted by Edward who was welcoming and asked for if I need anything. Also saw him paragliding in the morning past the campground! He's super cool and a nice guy!
This is definitely an amazing place for a getaway from the fast city vibes.

Views at the campsite were beautiful. Edward was a great host and made it super easy to find where to go. The bathroom was clean and well-kept, and being so close to downtown Gilroy and the wineries made for an all-around great trip.

For the price, timing and location I couldn’t be happier. It was a safe place for me and my girl to stay with a bathroom and shower available.
Didn’t have to worry about anyone messing with our stuff or car compared to staying in the city.
This was located on a ranch. Basic set up that had a gate we can lock and unlock whenever we needed to leave which is nice. Compared to some other camp spots anyone can walk on the property/park.
We had some deer visitors that welcomed our stay which was really nice to see.
It would have been nice to be able to set up a fire pit.
Maybe in the future there can be dug out dedicated spots to enjoy a fire.
During dry season through its understandable.
We visited Monterey and Santa Cruz during our stay.

Camping under the tree in the host’s yard was a surprisingly relaxing experience. The spot felt private and shaded, and having access to a toilet and shower just a short walk away made everything super convenient. The natural ambiance really made it special peacocks and other animals roam nearby, so you get to enjoy their sounds in the background. It added a peaceful, almost tropical vibe to the stay. Would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys a low-key, nature-infused camping spot with a few comforts!

We had a wonderful stay at this campsite. The views are absolutely stunning, and the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. Amy is incredibly kind, responsive, and accommodating. The campsite itself is private and peaceful. We also enjoyed using the tennis court during our stay. It can get a bit windy up there, but the view makes up for it. Highly recommend.

Camping at 1000 Ranch was a perfect overnight stay for my dog and I! I felt safe and comfortable, and my dog enjoyed exploring the campsite on a long leash. Edward gave great clear instructions that helped me get settled in the site soon after arriving. 10/10, would stay again!
