There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork Cosumnes river. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the our house (literally 200' away!). Our property became a pivotal point of fighting the fire in our community known as the “Ant Hill Army”. Ask us about the story!

We are a small privately owned campground ( on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day. We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site. No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes. We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash.

Our 220 remote acres are adjacent to Shasta Trinity National Forest in the beautiful Cascade Range between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in Northern California. It's a working ranch with tree farms, animals, hydroelectric power, sawmill, gardens, orchards, creeks, springs, trails, and our camp alongside Kosk Creek. We're 54 miles from Redding off of 299E, (about 1-1/2 hour drive). DO NOT TAKE ROAD 11 FROM THE NORTH, IT IS CLOSED! PIease try to ignore the "car art" in the Pit River Tribe's Rancheria as you're coming here. Drive right through it, it's no reflection on us. The last mile or so of the road here can be pretty rough, but on arrival, you'll know it's worth the trip! No Cell phone service available here, so it's the perfect opportunity to unplug. We do have a land line up at the house in case of an emergency. Also, if you really need it, WiFi is available at the house.

My aunt and uncle bought the property in 1947 from its first European settler, Paolo Gabrielli, who immigrated in early 1914 from northern Italy with slips of his grapevine in the lining of his coat. (The grapevine still grows over the back deck.) What can you expect? Quiet, beauty, birdsong, ocean roar, widely spaced campsites (only 5 on the 5 acres set aside for camping). Free firewood, local tips on travel and where to hike or what to visit. Or total solitude. Bring your (most non-cattle-chasing breeds) dogs if you wish (males must be neutered). Starlink internet. Walk to the beach of our wild ocean along a no-shoulder country road. We have no visible neighbors, no ambient light or sound. The air is clean and clear and the water is potable from an artesian spring on the property. No electricity at the sites and no generators allowed. (Charge your electronics at the farmhouse.) We offer homemade soup, cobbler, fresh bread, morning coffee as extras; you can order with the booking. The Victorian village of Ferndale is three miles east, as is a beautifully maintained 110-acre town wilderness with hiking trails called Russ Park. A 150-year-old cemetery slopes down a hillside & is filled with 19th century charm and history. Shops and restaurants welcome visitors. There are several bars/a wine bar/and a historic saloon that's as old boy as it was in 1890. A music venue in a restored 19th century church has amazing acoustics and attracts international talent as a top-notch venue (sessions are filmed for PBS) midway between Portland and San Francisco. So, it's a mix of town and country, village and farm, wilderness and bewilderedness. Safe, safe, safe, meaning: you can leave your belongings in your site and when you come back... they're still there :) One caveat: please arrive before dark. There is no electricity in the campgrounds, and no generators are allowed. You will not be able to reach (or maybe even locate) your site without disturbing others. This is a place of beauty, love, and laughter; we welcome the world.

This is a shared campground with 3 separate spots that are relatively private. Host will NOT be there when you arrive unless prior arrangement made. This campground is yours to enjoy. The expectation is 'leave it better than before so the next guests may enjoy! This is camping. BRING YOUR OWN GEAR. Put your own linens and bedding on top of what is already on bed. I can provide linens and bedding for an extra $25 for glamping spots. Beds have pillows on them. There is wildlife. This includes bears and mountain lions in the area. You will not see either but good to be aware they exist. This is a safe 'neighborhood'. We do not have problems with thievery. However, always keep your valuables safe IN YOUR CAR. There is no Power. No WiFi. Cell phone coverage not guaranteed. Depends on your carrier. DOWNLOAD DIRECTIONS AND INFO BEFORE ARRIVING TO SITE. There is Poison Oak. Stay in the designated areas. If you are susceptible, bring and wash with Tecnu. Or use dish soap and wash. Poison oak is an oil. Most importantly: Don't Touch. No Fires allowed during Summer months. Be super careful. No candles. Smoke in fire pit area. Grass is a tinderbox. 1 spark can ignite all. There is a hose connected to kitchen. There is a Pet Fee stay. 1 pet per site allowed unless prior arrangement made. You are responsible to clean up after your pet and to make sure pet is safe and respectful to neighbors. This means you DO NOT leave your pet unattended, and is leashed at all times. If your pet is barking continuously, we ask that you leave. It is not respectful for all other neighbors. Please bring your own bed for your dogs and clean up after a shedding dog if you are indoors. We ask that guests clean up your camping spot upon departure to 'make the place better than before' for the next guests. Butterfly Landing is a sweet landing spot! Birds, butterflies and small wildlife love this spot. The habitat includes many native species of plant life. A pretty knoll that is on the top of a 40 acre property. Views of vineyards, redwood trees, valley floor, and expansive sky. Private, Quiet and beautiful. A central sunny meadow ties together 3 distinct private areas with a communal kitchen, bath-house, picnic-table sitting area and parking on the side. There is 1 outhouse that has a mailbox system to ensure privacy. (Please read manual on picnic table for instructions) Kitchen. 2 burner propane stove, and sink with running water (cold). (Good for drinking. Pressure is low) There is basic cooking and dishware. Cleaning supplies. A Trash and Recycle Bin. And a Compost bucket where all food scraps should be disposed of and then covered with wood-chips. Kitchen should stay clean at all times. Please put dishes away in the tote to keep clean and critter free. Bath-house. Shower with hot water. 1 shared Outhouse. Please use the path that goes to the outhouse (unless you are in the Greenroom) and make sure you put the mailbox red flag up so that others know it is occupied. ((Then don't forget to put it back down!!) Common sitting area. There are 2 picnic tables, Lots of umbrellas that can be moved wherever, a fire pit/table and lots of seating. Parking. There are room for 3 vehicles. Parking is to be in designated parking area please. Sunny meadow and forest shade make this a lovely landing spot to relax and enjoy nature, and a great opportunity to turn off those cell phones!! Butterfly Landing is about 1/2 mile from HWY 128 that runs through Anderson Valley. This location is the perfect location for it all. Wine tasting in the Valley, Navarro River swimming during the summer months, and the Mendocino coast is nearby. This is an Honor system camping spot. We ask that you leave your spot 'better than before', as in 'Leaver no Trace'. I rely on everyone to do their part in the communal kitchen to keep clean and free of critters. SUPER IMPORTANT to put all food scraps in the compost bin. NO food anything in the trash. This is how the bears show up. Please do your part. Thank you so much. This is our second time camping here and we loved it even more this time around. We stayed at site #5 and was exactly how it was described. We love how convenient and close the grills were to us. The restrooms and showers were clean and kept up well. Greg and Charles were great!! One afternoon we seemed to have more wasps then usual, but Greg immediately placed a wasp catcher and it helped tremendously. Greg also surprised my wife with a cupcake for us to celebrate her birthday! We brought a friend that stayed next to us at site 4 and they loved it as well. We are definitely coming back and will refer Camp Nauvoo to our friends and family!

Camp Nauvoo is absolute camping perfection! We just got back from an incredible stay, and I can easily say this is one of the best family-friendly Hipcamp spots we’ve ever visited. The setup here makes camping with a family completely stress-free: Top-Notch Amenities: Clean bathrooms are a make-or-break for us, and the facilities here were spotless. The onsite cooking facilities made meal prep a breeze, and having access to the lodge for indoor dining was a absolute game-changer for comfortable family meals. Non-Stop Onsite Fun: The kids were entertained from morning until night. Between the basketball and pickleball courts, ping pong tables, and a massive grassy field for games, no one ever uttered the words "I'm bored." Creek & Swimming Holes: The onsite creek was peaceful and great for fishing. Plus, it’s an easy, short walk to fantastic nearby swimming holes where the whole family could wade around and cool off. Camp Nauvoo nails the balance between getting out into nature and having all the right comforts. We're already planning our next trip back!

Weekend Trip to Bright Bear Camp in Tahoe NF

My partner and I had a wonderful time staying here for our weekend camping trip. Kelley was a fantastic host and I would 100% recommend staying here if you’re looking to camp in the Tahoe national forest area. Our cabin was clean, in perfect condition and Kelley was always there if we needed anything. You’re 45 minutes away from Tahoe lake and 15 minutes from the Emerald Pools. We’re excited to come back and I definitely recommend checking it out. 5/5

Weekend Trip to Moonstone Hideaway

This was a gorgeous, cute, cozy and comfortable space! I had never stepped foot in an RV before (and am pretty new to camping as a whole) so I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was impressed by just about every aspect of the experience. I unexpectedly lost cell phone service (T Mobile) for a huge radius around the site – obviously not Micah's fault, it just made communication a bit tricky and we ended up missing Micah this time around. But, Micah was VERY kind, welcoming, communicative, and supportive even remotely while having to adapt to this challenge. I certainly hope we'll get to return, and to meet then! So be prepared for spotty service even if your carrier advertises otherwise – and for an amazing host and downright lovely time. I run very hot and my partner gets cold easily, and we were both comfortable the whole time. Lovely and grounding vibe, it even smelled super nice when we arrived which was so nice. (Scent-sensitive guests may wish to make their needs known in advance!) The bathroom was very clean and functional even by the standards of this total camping newbie. Everything felt nice, comfortable, and thoughtful. We never could figure out the lights or wifi, but it was nbd, and I have no doubt that if we'd met Micah at check-in, he would've taught us graciously and effectively :) P.S. Teddy, the roaming pup, was an absolute joy and a highlight of our stay! Such a smart and polite boy. He totally won the heart of my partner who is not generally a dog person!

The Fisherman’s Shack was the perfect weekend hiding spot for us! Everything was kept very neat and clean (much nicer outdoor bathroom than the public ones) and firewood + a few throw pillows and extra blankets were waiting for us. The tent we stayed in was as expected, two comfy beds with clean linens and solar powered lighting. Other than the cute tent, this property is a basic campground with few amenities. The porta potties on site were either closed or VERY overdue for cleaning. When I brought this up to the owner she told me they would be cleaned the following day. While I believe she wiped them down, they were not pumped out. The potable water was stored in big jugs located a a central location next to the trash receptacles and a little locked building. This may be what they're referring to as the “Front Porch” on their website. The bags of ice were tiny, over priced and not “delivered” I didn’t notice a central fire pit or S’mores, nor was any of this mentioned to us. The owners cats roam freely on the grounds, ripping into trash bags at the central location, prowling around the cabins and one came into our tent and helped itself to snacks while we were out. You will have a much nicer experience at a state park campground.

This is our second time staying and it's great! Love the communal kitchen, great access to creek, and friendly atmosphere. He lets us lick from the garden and last year set up the whole pizza oven for us even bringing dough! It was too hot this year but still a perfect get away from technology!

Weekend Trip to The Retreat At Redwood Shores

I stay here everything I visit my daughter. Great location, easy access to Cal Poly Humbolt. Cabins are all great, comfortable beds, clean linens (bedding and towels) provided at no extra fee (the stated $20 extra for linens on the site is a glitch). Great place if you're travelling with pets- they have a closed space for dogs to run. Stayed there 5 or so times in the last year and I know there have been upgrades to cabins- if you're with a dog that can open doors, stay in a rustic cabin, there's no way a dog can open the door while you're relaxing on the porch h swing or at the site's picnic table and fire pit.

The fisherman’s shack was amazing! Exactly what we wanted and so close to town and the beach. It felt like camping with a little more shelter. The site was beautiful and very well kept, and the host was very sweet.

Weekend Trip to Camp Nauvoo

Just finished our 6th annual trip to camp Nauvoo and it just keeps getting better. We tried out the bell tent this year and it was perfect. Plenty of room inside to stand up and walk around, and space outside for an extra tent. We are so grateful to Greg for building such a special place that our kids get to experience for their childhood. They are always begging to come back. See you next year!

Weekend Trip to Baby Banana Slug Farm

An amazing stay as always at Baby Banana Slug, I finished my “tour” of the four cabins and finally stayed at the Redwood Retreat. I can confirm that the stay in Mendocino County felt much too short, and that Nathan as always remain an impeccable host who offered a warm welcome for me, my dog and family. Having a full (well-equipped) kitchen, full bath and wood burning stove (stocked with wood) in the Redwood Retreat cabin make this the ultimate favorite for future travels with the family. The cabin was clean and cozy with many special touches that make this place shine.
